Competition: Make A House A Home

Finished
Make A House A Home

Every House needs somewhere to call home. Your assignment is to create a description of a new location to be added to Aliso. Entries should be at least 200 words, but need not be excessively detailed or set up as a wiki article. The idea is to create a concept that can be expanded to create an entire location. This is a chance to add something permanent to the Tyranus canon, and even those entries that don't place still might make it onto the DJB wiki as official canon for the house. Also, keep in mind that you can branch into House-specific concepts as well as clan-wide ones. Just like the first competition, remember that the more interesting the idea, the better. If you want to finish well, try to think outside the box!

Entries will be graded on syntax, originality, and the quality of the writing used to create the location.

Serenno Cantina

Located not from the Medina in the heart of Aliso City, the Serenno Cantina is, at first glance, much like any other cantina. However, one is barred from entry unless they are a 'follower of Tyranus', another name for the membership of House Tyranus. Even the bartenders are members of the House, albeit the lower ranks. As a result the building is rarely even close to full, and plenty of Tyrants are able to enjoy a quiet drink on their own. The bar is stocked with all kinds of beverages, ranging from cheap drinks to even some of the most exotic and expensive available.

On entry, a Tyrant is supposed to be searched for weapons, but it is already well known that all but the lowliest of members will find a way to evade the scanners and bouncers; they are easily bribed or tricked. As a result there has been more than one armed altercation in the cantina already.

The tables are arranged in a series of booths with the large bar located at the far wall. The centre of the room is in theory reserved for dancing, but the ban on non-Tyrants leaves the area mostly unused, although it is occasionally filled with large amounts of discarded drinks bottles.
