Competition: The 2019 Scimitar of Lord Hoth - December

To celebrate our history and honor the sacrifices of those who came before us, the most skilled bladesmiths on Solyiat were instructed to create the finest weapon, welded with hard Solyiat steel into a beautiful damascus blade. The bladesmiths used both rubies from Solyiat and recovered Sapphires from New Tython to adorn the sword that would be worthy of Lord Hoth himself. Passed from Odanite to Odanite, The ‘Scimitar of Lord Hoth’ symbolizes dedication to the clan.

And now you have the opportunity to compete to wield this impressive weapon for a period of one year with monthly contests to determine the winner. During your reign, you will have to compete again to remain worthy of the Scimitar or relinquish it to the next champion! To that end, I say good luck!

Competition Details

This is an annual competition in which the member with the highest total score at the end of the year will be named the Scimitar of Lord Hoth for 2019. Remember you are only fictionally in possession of this ceremonial sword. Once a month, the winners will be announced in a report with annual point totals as well. All members except the sitting Consul and Proconsul are eligible to earn points.

Monthly Winners will be determined by the member with the most points at the end of the month. The Annual Winner will be determined by the member with the most points for the duration of the competition. Point System is based on all possible activities in the DJB and is as follows:

• Crescents earned 1 point per level. for example 1 point for Quartz, 2 points for Topaz up to 7 Points for a Diamond Crescent
  
• Any Novae earned in a Great Jedi War or other major DJB events will be awarded as follows:
  
  • Gold/Silver/Bronze Novae = 20/15/10 points each
    
• Clusters of Graphite and Ice - 5 points each
  
• Clusters of Fire - 0.25 points each
  
• Clusters of Earth - 0.10 points each
  
• Pendant of Blood - 5 points each
• Competition Participation:
  
  • BT event - 2.5 points
    
• House Event - 4 Points
  
• Clan Event or DJB wide Tournament - 5 Points
  
• Great Jedi War, Vendetta or Feud - 10 Points
  
• Competition Creation (Org or Co-Org) - 5 points (points awarded after the competition is closed and graded)
  
• Shadow Academy course passed - 2 points
  
• Shadow Academy Degrees earned:
  
• Pundit - 2.5 points
• Maven - 5 points
• Savant - 10 Points
• Sage - 20 Points
• Completed ACC match - 3 points for a Win, 2 points for a loss 1 point for a tie.
  
• Earning a Scroll of Foundation, Indoctrination or Scroll of the Master - 5 points
  
• Earning Member of the Month 5 points - Being named the member of the month in the previous months QUA or AED report.
  
• Project work - 5 to 15 points based on difficulty, time invested and overall feedback from the summit or DC member approving your work. Points to be awarded after the project is complete and approved.
  
• Bonus Scimitar comps (up to 3 per year) - 5 bonus point on top of all other awards above.
