Competition: Isekai What You Did There
Your character was at the local purveyor of graphic novels and found themselves perusing some foreign, unfamiliar genre of holo-comics, some of which seemed to focus on some rather unscrupulous subjects. While flipping through the pages, there is a sudden, localized wind tunnel that surrounds your character and they feel themselves being pulled in before everything goes dark.
When they come to, they find themselves in the unfamiliar space and time of the comic. In a minimum of 500 words, write out the trials and tribulations of your character in this strange land of high school drama, over-the-top monsters, and giant robots. The story should focus on your main or alternate character, but the use of additional NPCs is allowed and encouraged as the story demands.
Additional Notes (Read These!)
- Accepted submission formats are PDF and text box submissions. GDoc links and other file types will not.
- As tropes are the general theme of this competition, please state in the text box (at the beginning of the submission, if using the text box for the fiction) what tropes you're using, especially if they are more obscure, or what show(s)/comic(s) you are basing the story on. Some examples can be found here and here.
- Grading will be done in accordance with the Fiction Grading Rubric, with less focus on Realism and more on Story and entertainment value.
- Adult content is authorized, but for the love of Ashla and/or Bogan, make sure to un-check the Publish button before submitting. A warning to the grader would also be lovely.
- Clusters of Ice will be awarded for all valid entries according to word counts. Second Level Crescents will be awarded for the top three placements.
