Competition: A World of Fire and Blood

A World of Fire and Blood

Prompt

In the wastes of Tatooine, only those smart enough to scavenge, brutal enough to pillage, and pitiless enough to kill without hesitation will survive. Under the white hot twin suns, bones bleach, blood boils, and savage warlords battle for bottles of water, bundles of blasters, and tanks of precious fuel for the vehicles used to traverse the endless sands. This is a place where ordinary people are broken into dust.

Will you survive? Crippled, your vessel has crash-landed in the heart of heat-blasted wastes, leaving you with neither transportation nor any method of long-range communication. Left with only your weapons and your wits to sustain you, you must battle to survive against smothering sandstorms, horrific native fauna, and the elements themselves — not to mention the dangerous peoples who call this these relentless deserts home.

And speaking of the natives among the sands, local trouble is stirring up. As three groups take each other on for survival, you might be able to find a ticket out of this mess within the brewing conflict.

Options

1. Caravan of Courage

You’ve been rescued from the wastes by a massive Jawa sandcrawler, crewed by a veritable horde of inquisitive scavengers. In exchange for the ruins of your vessel, they’ve offered you transport to Mos Eisley, the nearest hive of scum and villainy with a working space port. However, these same Jawas made the mistake of scrapping a droid of particular interest to the vicious Grimori the Hutt, who has now dispatched his gang of brutal swoop-boys to hunt them down. To complicate things further, the best route for escape runs right through Tusken Raider territory, and they’re not gonna be happy about trespassers. Suffice to say, your new allies are going to need your help… and Jawas can be pretty nice, too — if you happen to speak Jawaese, of course.

2. Shiny and Chrome

While you were scrambling for resources, those damned Jawas scavved what was left of your ship! Thankfully, you’re not the only one in this desert looking for them; a delightfully insane batch of swoop-gangers, dispatched by Grimori the Hutt, are poised on taking the dirty scavengers down. If you help them finish the job, those stolen parts are as good as yours again, and maybe the gang can offer a hand in getting your ship back in working order as thanks. You’d better buckle up though; between the Jawas and the merciless Sand People roaming the dunes, it’s gonna be a wild ride!

3. The Raid

The people of Tatooine fear the Tuskens for a reason. Cunning and warlike, they trail the sands, preying upon settlers, Jawas, and criminal gangs alike, with little care for who’s blood they shed. But they do respect one thing: strength. With a stroke of luck and perhaps some skill, you’ve won the Sand People’s favor, but now you must prove yourself to them. Lead their tribe on the greatest raid of their time, taking down the thieving Jawas that stake claims on their territory, the invading wild swoop gang led by Grimori the Hutt, and if you’d be so bold, the settlement of Mos Eisley itself that was built atop their ancient lands long ago. The rewards you’ll reap will be more than enough to go where you wish, once the dust has settled.

4. Lone Road Warrior

It seems like everyone in this desert is trying to kill each other, which means the only person you can trust is yourself. As a rioting swoop gang gets into a high-speed skirmish with a Jawa sandcrawler on Tusken Raider dunes, there’s undoubtedly going to be carnage between all three groups. Somewhere in the mix though, there’s bound to be a score you can claim for yourself — a vehicle, a communicator, anything that will get you back to civilization. You’d best get in on the action before it speeds by, or you might be left high and dry in the middle of nowhere for good.
