Competition: The Enemy of My Enemy Is My Friend - Temporarily

Prompt

Your character wants to confront one of their enemies. You decide to launch a mission to track down your enemy, but on the way you encounter an unexpected obstacle you did not account for: someone else trying to do the same thing.

Write a story where your primary or secondary character and this other character join forces (gladly or reluctantly) to take out your shared foe. Please feel free to be creative with how this story pans out. Will you betray your temporary partner, or will you find respect and budding friendship? Will you even find your enemy before you both turn on each other? The choice is yours.

Rules

• No snapshots are required, however;
• Identify your enemy. You may choose a player character, a Faction NPC, one of your own NPCs, or make up an NPC. If you use a player character, Faction or player NPC, please provide a link to their character sheet just so I know who they are.
• Identify your unexpected ally (or allies). This may be a player character, Faction NPC, a player an NPC or a made up NPC. However, if you choose a player character, please ask permission to use their character before proceeding. Provide the name and dossier ID of player characters you decide to team up with, or a link to the NPC character sheet (if it exists) just so I know who they are.
• All other aspects of the story are up to you! Choose whichever setting, plot, and character relations you see fit. Are you alone, or in a group? On a planet, or a ship? Be creative!
• All submissions must be .pdf, .docx., .doc, or may be submitted through the website's text box.
• Submissions must be a minimum of 500 words, no maximum.
• Submissions will be graded using the VOICE rubric.
