You stand defiant. Eyes locked on your target, waiting for their next move. With your weapon in hand, you stand ready for the fight you've been waiting for since you first laid eyes on them. It's time to show your Master that you've grown far beyond what they've been able to teach you.

Using your Main or Alt character, write a battle between you and your Master. In this story, you'll come out the winner. What will you use to defeat them? How do you exploit their weaknesses? From what they taught you, what can you use against them? Do you look to maim or simply best them? The outcome is yours to write.

• Entries must be a minimum of 500 words

• There is no maximum word cap

• Must be centered on your Main or Alt character. NPCs permissible as spectators

• A snapshot of the primary character’s loadout must be selected and submitted with your entry via the checkbox submission field on the competition page.

• Preferred submission format is .pdf, .doc, or .txt. Anything in a Google Doc must be exported as a pdf for submission.

• Entries will be graded using the Fiction Rubric with some flexibility on realism due to the requested outcome of the story.
