Competition: [The Otherspace] Clutches of the Unknown

You have volunteered (or been voluntold) to take part in a test of a new type of hyperdrive for starfighters or small ships. As a result of an accident, you find yourself in a dimension that you have never seen before. You have only heard rumours about it, recalling legends of an alien race that utilized organic technology and followed the Cult of Death.

Describe how you found yourself in the otherspace and what happened there. Did you survive and manage to return to realspace?
