Prompt

The collective scientists of your clan have just learned that a large apocalyptic event is on the horizon for your clan's home planet; whether its an asteroid or some other cataclysmic event. You've been tasked with - and given control of - using every amount of your clan's resources to stop that doomsday scenario.

Write a fiction of no less than 500 words (no maximum) from the perspective of your main or alternative character detailing what they do in this scenario to try and keep this scenario from happening. Whether they succeed in the end or have to evacuate the planet is up to the writer.

Rules

• The story must detail exactly what cataclysmic event is happening, and what your character does to stop it. Explaning why the event is happening is welcome but not necessary.
  
• No less than 500 words, no maximum
  • Entries will grant 1 CI per 500 words as usual
• The story must be centered on your main or alternative character. NPCs are allowed and encouraged, but the story must focus on one of those two characters
• Entries should be submitted in .TXT, .PDF, or using the submission box on the site. No G-Doc links, no .DOC/,DOCX files.
  • Use the File -> Save As feature in G-Docs or Word to save as a .PDF, then upload.

All entries will be graded according to the new Voice Fiction Rubric.
