The schism between the Cartels and the Paladins have come to a head, but in their desperation, the Cartels unleashed a sentient AI upon Ol’val. With life-support systems compromised, the entire asteroid is threatened and time is running out!

Write a story focusing on one of the following scenarios, featuring your main or alternative character and submit it in .pdf, .doc or .docx format. Grading will be based on the Voice Fiction Rubric. No Google Drive links! Minimum length for a valid submission is 500 words. There is no maximum (I say with trepidation).

Scenario 1: Aid the Paladins The Paladins, better trained and equipped, are fighting the cyborgs unleashed by Vallan Provost of the Fly on the Wall techno-cartel. These Collective-era war cyborgs are running rampant around Ol’val, killing anything in sight and causing untold destruction. Your task is to help the Paladins fight the cyborgs and keep the people and infrastructure of Ol’val safe!

It won’t matter whether or not we regain control of the station, if all that’s left is ruins and corpses.

Scenario 2: Aid the Cartels The Cartels, bloodied and on the backfoot, don’t have the numbers to get to the Ol’val Control Core. But their predecessors built the place, and they know the best shortcuts. Your task is to lead a strike team down into the bowels of Ol’val, get past ancient security measures overtaken by the Collective AI virus, and reboot the Ol’val holonet.

Time is of the essence! With the air scrubbers offline, there won’t be much air left for long.

Scenario 3: Evacuate the Shadowport Help Ol’val’s own Enforcers to maintain order and get as many people off the Shadowport as possible. With environmental systems going haywire, there are numerous hazards from gas leaks to electrical fires and rogue defense turrets posing a threat to the civilians. Find as many of the trapped inhabitants as you can and keep them safe!
