Competition: Connections
One thing I always enjoyed were the Star Wars Infinities or the Elseworlds imprint by DC. With this sort of thing in mind, I pose the following thought to you:
Prompt: Imagine that your character had grown up the polar opposite of their Force User or Non-Force User designation. What sort of long-reach consequences would such a detail have upon your character? Would they be an entirely different individual, with a differing history whole-cloth? Would they have found their way to their current position despite the odds? Would they have a different group of friends, a different Clan, or a different loved one? Really, your imagination is the limit in what could be different.
Though, true to the Infinities or Elseworlds examples, there should be something of your character that is evident in what still makes your character themself.
Rules:
- Participants must submit entries in .pdf, .doc, or .docx format, or use the submission text field on the site.
- Entries must be at least 500 words in content.
- Any entries that are less than 500 words will be disqualified and as such ineligible for participation or placement.
- There is no upper limit on your word count. (Just keep in mind that the longer a fiction is the longer and harder it can be to grade effectively. )
- Your story should be centered upon your Main or Alternative characters. You may choose to write part of your fiction from a different perspective than that character, but the focus should be on the main or alternative character sleected. That said, the use of slotted NPCs or other characters that you create or invent to tell your story are both allowed and encouraged. Remember though: your narrative should be focused upon your Main or Alternative character.
- A snapshot of your Main or Alternative character loadout must be selected and submitted with your entry. Failure to attach a snapshot will prevent you from placing, but not from participation points.

Grading will be completed by scores of the fiction with the grader utilizing the the Voice's 3.0 Fiction Rubric.
