Competition: Writing Practice Self-Reflection
Finished
Writing Practice Self-Reflection
Choose a story that you wrote during the Great Jedi War (if you didn't participate, choose any recent story).
In at least 500 words, break down
- What went well: Were there some bits of description you were particularly proud of? Did you come up with a great plot? Did your characters go through an exciting journey?
- What could have gone better? Were there bits where your dialogue felt a bit flat? Did you tell where you should have shown? Were there any plot holes? Anything too light on detail?
Try to spend roughly an equal number of words on each bit. It's important to recognise what you did well as well as things you can improve. Consider giving rewritten versions of bits of the story after looking back on it.
Entries will be judged based on the depth of analysis of your own work, identification of actionable points to improve, and quality of written communication. Direct quotations of submitted work do not count towards the word count.
