Competition: Twelve Weeks a Haiku Returns!!!

It has been a while, but Twelve weeks a Haiku is back!

Creativity is an essential aspect of everyday life. To that end, over the next twelve weeks, let’s raise the creative levels in the Brotherhood. Join us by pushing yourselves to think outside the box and write some great Haiku.

Every week will feature a different writing prompt, and the Haiku will grow in difficulty. The difficulty changes can be as simple as more difficult prompts or even more stanzas of the Haiku. Harder Haiku are worth more points, and it's more likely to set you apart for that week.

If you can push through and score high, you could become the Haiku Champion of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood!

The last Champion was Ronovi Tavisaen of Clan Plaguis; who would dethrone her? Could it be you?

Requirements for participation:

• Subscribe to the weekly competition, and submit either a .doc, .docx file, or in the text box.
• No Google Drive Links Will Be Accepted
• Follow the prompt. If the judge thinks this hasn’t been done, you will be disqualified from placement in that week’s challenge.
• This is a haiku, so you must follow the 5-7-5 syllable count and the stanza requirement posted in each week's prompt. Failure to follow this format will result in being disqualified from placement for the week. If it is clearly not an attempt at a Haiku, the entry will be disqualified. *Satirical entries will be accepted and graded accordingly. If they fail to reflect the spirit of the prompt properly, it will be reflected in the scoring.
• Do Not Plagiarize! Plagiarism will be reported to the Justicar. *Have fun and be creative. Show us what that brain of yours can really do.

Grading:

Haiku will be graded out of 20, 60, or 100 points depending on the difficulty of the week's challenge. The grading rubric that will be followed is as follows:

• Spelling/Grammar: 20%

• Creativity: 30%

• Entertainment Value: 20%

• Originality: 30%

Rewards:

Each week the rewards will be as follows;

• 1st: 10 points + 2nd tier crescent
• 2nd: 9 points + 2nd tier crescent
• 3rd: 8 points + 2nd tier crescent
• 4th: 7 points
• 5th: 6 points
• 6th: 5 points
• 7th: 4 points
• 8th: 3 points
• 9th: 2 points
• 10th: 1 point

And at the end of the twelve weeks, the top ten point earners will be decided, with the top three earning 2nd tier crescents and bragging rights.

Ties will be broken by number of placements. I.e. # of 1st, then 2nd, etc.

Further crescents can be earned at individual and container levels depending on participation numbers.
