Our characters have been involved in and will be involved in a variety of stories. From goofy highjinks to somber events, many of them have gone through trials. But have you ever wondered what could have been? How a story could have unfolded if your character chose differently. For this competition I ask you to please submit an entry of a minimum of 500 words themed around an AU, a non canon story in which your character made a different choice or something different occurred. How could a single change lead to a wildly different and ideally tragic outcome?

Entries will be graded based on the fiction 3.0 grading rubric (https://docs.google.com/spreadsheets/d/125hThvIEweRL-nHDepON-PV-ixeC8zLp9xmYkI9wkM0/edit?usp=sharing) alongside personal preference for how well participants can tell a tragic story that occurs due to a single change or alternate decision made.
