Competition: Waxing Poetic come the New Year
The Fiction:
Unlike their native counterparts, The Quorahi, the Vatali do not revere their moon for any religious or spiritual reasons, they revere it for two specific reasons, the frigid beauty of the frozen plains reflected in the night sky, and the mathematical precision by which they have been able to utilize it to keep their calendars. Orbiting Kiast 13 times in a year Kaerls serves as a steady calendar needing only a day of adjustment every 4 years.
The Quorahi and Gand, as many others throughout the Galaxy, look upon and revere their moon through many tribal legends. Equating the beauty of the moon and the vigor of the sun as though lovers dancing through the skies. Others still cherish moons for their part in the greater scheme of planetary ecosystems.
