In the Arms of Darkness - By Qor

When daylight fades and stars take flight,
I do not miss the sun’s warm light.
For in the hush where night is deep,
It’s you I find, and shadows sleep.

The world retreats, its noise undone,
No need for masks, no need to run.
Your touch, a spark beneath the black,
Guides every piece I thought I lacked.

No roses bloom, no candles burn,
Yet still, for you, my senses yearn.
A breath, a glance, the space we share—
The dark becomes our secret lair.

You speak in whispers made of dusk,
Your voice like velvet, low and hushed.
No need for light to see you here,
You are the flame I hold most near.

Together, cloaked in night's caress,
We move through dreams the stars possess.
The world is gone, the silence kind,
In shadowed hearts, true love we find.

So let the day belong to fear,
But when the dark comes—I'll be near.
Not all that’s hidden seeks to part…
Some darkness only guards the heart.

Darkness (Acrostic)

Deep inside the abyss
Awash with the cold of loneliness

Reach deeper down
Knowing the truth is there

Never turning back upwards
Even when the chill pierces your bones

Seeking ever more strength
Swimming deeper into the darkness

I hear a chittering,
Something skittering,
Just beyond my view

The torch flame flickers,
A foul creature snickers,
Just beyond my view

The wind grows cold,
The beasts grow bold,
Just beyond my view

Without the light,
I fear the night,
Just beyond my view

I don’t mind the dark
Even if it’s stark
Fore it to exist there must be be light
And it doesn’t even need to be bright
Even if it’s only a spark
