[VoH Week 1] Haiku

As you arrive on the barren icy planet, you can’t help but feel something. Is it rage? Cold? Frustration? Hunger? Gas? Whatever you’re feeling, it’s best to express it through poetry.

Characteristics of a traditional haiku include the following:

  • Structure of three lines with a 5-7-5 syllable pattern
  • Usually un-rhymed, but can be rhyming
  • Focus is on nature and a brief moment in time
  • Uses descriptive language to create visual imagery
  • Captures a moment and creates thought-provoking insight
