Den of Syn

The convoy of five bulky freighters sailed lazily through the cold dark of space. They were unremarkable vessels. Their fat, boring hulls were unpainted save a few worn away registration numbers. Their cargo holds were stuffed full of prefab building materials and megalithic panels of transparisteel. Powerful sublight engines propelled the behemoths away from their mysterious port of departure in Arx and on towards the point of delivery.

The contents of the shipment were well overdue; parts and pieces for construction projects already completed. Nevertheless, the raw material was useful. The slow train of goods changed headings, aiming towards a distant hyperspace buoy.

“Sierra two-one, course correction complete. Preparing hyperdrive calculation, destination: Seraph.” a merchant captain chirped.

“Roger two-one, stand by for jump initiation.” another responded.

“Hold on. New contacts on scope.” the merchant said...

Background

Den of Syn is a 4 week narrative driven event for Clan Scholae Palatinae. It will consist of an array of competitions, where participation matters for both final placement and future fictional storylines. Your submissions will impact what happens next!

Here is a brief synopsis of the Plot:

• GM Dacien sends a convoy to CSP - occurs in Parabellum Cycle 2
• Pirates attack convoy
• Rayne takes a vacation but work follows her home
• A new street drug, DAE-Tr1Pr, has taken hold of Imperial citizens
• ISB tells Rayne about a stolen shipment
• Korvyn deals with bureaucrats
• Pirates plan their next move
• The Empire prepares retaliation

Important Location

In the above map, the systems indicated in yellow are under Imperial protection. The nearby Syn system is undeveloped. It consists of 5 planets: 2 dead rocky worlds, 1 habitable planet, and 2 gas giants. The habitable world is called Juvl. It is a dense jungle world and serves as the base of operations for Valsi Vale and his band of pirates.
