Competition: Slice of Life 16: Glass

Running
Slice of Life 16: Glass

The simplest everyday moments can be some of the most impactful, the most enjoyable to tell, the little things we live for that truly show who our characters are and how they live their lives. All too often, it's these small slices of life that seem to pass us by, unfit for DRAMA so common to the Brotherhood or not quuuite what such and so RP is about.

These competitions will be designed for those moments, to let you tell those stories. Inspired by running Slice of Life RPs, these are for more solo vignettes, but may allow for cooperation one on one.

Entries will be graded using the Voice Fiction Rubric as a base with flexibility for lack of Character Sheets being necessary and big dramatic story arcs. Show me your characters living their lives.

Rules

  • Entries should be a minimum of 500 words
  • Any characters! No sheet, an old sheet, back in time, whatever. Snapshots are not required.
  • Entries MAY be CO-OP with one (1) other member. If co-op, make sure to indicate using a different color or breaks who wrote what, and please include your respective word counts. It just makes things easier.
  • Entries MUST relate to the given word prompt.

Prompt: Glass

Examples: looking in from the outside, shattering, going through a window in a dramatic action move, rain pattering on a window, dropping your glass Spacebucks mug that you bought and then dropping the one that your friend sent you because it's flimsy glass for a mug and of course it breaks if you breathe on it, a vase of flowers from a lover, a vase of flowers at a funeral, a mirror, a cool glass dagger, a very bad house to throw stones in.
