“A Duel Of Fates” by Ricky Rodson

*Blades clash in darkness, *Fates entwined, destiny's dance, *Light and Dark collide.

A haiku is a unique form of poetry as it is short and does not need to rhyme, unlike other poetry types. The poem has a single verse with only three lines of text. The entire poem will have 17 syllables total. The standard count of 5-7-5 will be used for this competition.

How to Haiku

Prompt

All great haiku poems follow a theme, so this year write a haiku about Revelation.

Deep within the jungles of Wayland, the long-abandoned halls of Mount Tantiss lie silent, their secrets gathering dust beneath the mountain. As you explore the forgotten base, what truths do you uncover? Hidden technology? Forbidden experiments? Lost knowledge of the Empire? How do these revelations make you feel—awed, disturbed, tempted, or determined to carry them back to your Clan?

Rules

*Subscribe to the competition and submit in the text box below. *It must follow the 5-7-5 syllable/stanza count. *All work must be your own in its entirety. This means no AI for this competition. *Have fun and be creative!

Grading will be based on format, adherence to the theme and flow.

This event has a 2x placement modifier.
