The dark forest of the mountain presents many challenges to those who take their battles to Mount Tantiss. Thick trees block out much of the sun even on the brightest of days, making vision hard and difficult for those without some means of overcoming it. The foliage is thick and tends to provide rough terrain for those without the ability to cut them down, removing them from their own path. Insects bite and annoy, distracting, even just minutely, at the worst times.

However, the greatest challenge that the mountain lays before its invaders is one that is neither native nor natural, nor one that can be expected or described easily. The lab within the earth was protected by many things, from droids to soldiers, but those have mostly been dealt with - now it is the wild and uncontrolled lab experiments that claim the land for themselves, uncontrolled by their scientist creators and masters anymore.

From creatures with extra mouths and heads, to more limbs, to as simple as increased size, there is no end to the mad creations that were both purposefully and accidentally created within the secret base, then released to act as a natural deterrent to the curious.

Here there be true monsters, ready to kill you and just as capable as the foe you have come here to face.

Rising above the thick canopy of leaves on the planet Wayland stands Mount Tantiss, a testament to a dangerous and enduring environment that refuses to be tamed. Inside the hollowed out mountain sits the remains of Tantis Base, a facility built by the Galactic Empire as a secret base for their cloning program, the since abandoned facility holds many secrets ripe for the picking for any aspiring treasure hunters if they can survive the dangers left behind and the deadly creatures that now call it home.

A silent battle wages as the halls of Tantiss Base have become a blend of organic and artificial as the planet’s forest has begun its attempts to reclaim the decrepit facility. Moss covers the durasteel walls, growing inside the cracks and crevices forcing panels from their place on the walls as they hold on desperately against nature’s vengeance. At the heart of Mount Tantis are the Imperial laboratories, the once sterile rooms are filled with broken glass, scattered papers and half finished experiments left behind in the rush to evacuate.

While a treasure trove of Imperial information, the true secret is hidden far below ground in an area known as The Vault, the home of an experiment simply known as Project Necromancer, the nature of which is not widely known. The sealed off entrance to The Vault, and presumably its interior, look just as they did the day the base was abandoned, clean and untouched by the encroaching nature and wandering beasts. Almost as if the evil aura of the experiments still lingers.

Jedha
Jedha City Ruins

Once a beautiful walled city, the site is now a mere shadow of its former self. Rubble piles of various sizes are strewn about the former cityscape. In many cases, a burnt out husk of what was once part of a building can be found still standing, a reminder of what once was. The wind, hot, acrid, and dry, blows across the landscape, occasionally dragging ribbons of sand along with it. Despite the long period of time since it's last occupation, it is hard to ignore the sense of lingering, haunted spirits from beings incinerated in the wake of the Death Star’s blast.

Nature has begun to reclaim the area. As one explores, they can find evidence of wildlife. Early signs of nature's reclamation of the city, including bird nests, animal tracks, and parts of the marginal plant life can be found throughout the remains, despite the dessert climate. Surrounding the ruined city is little evidence of any other civilization in the area. If there ever was any, they have long since departed, leaving the ruins of the once great Jedha City to be reclaimed by the dessert, and eventually lost to the sands of time.

Mount TANTISS facility

On the broken and deserted world of Jedda lies a derelict, abandoned imperial base. The facility at Mount Tantiss is overgrown and crumbling. The local geology consists of mostly limestone near the surface, and the sub-tropical climate offers plenty of rain. This means that the terrain is filled with sink-holes, caves and cenotes. The facility was constructed with the purpose of stealth, so is surrounded by dense jungle - which has begun to reclaim the buildings. Moderate temperatures throughout the year seem much hotter due to the humidity, despite the elevation of the mountain. The roofs and walls - and even the very ground itself in some places - crumble to reveal cavernous holes within the mountain. Secret underground chambers and caves alike may hold hidden dangers for any combatants here. The possibility of rain is a daily problem but it usually only lasts for two hours or less. The dense vegetation covering everything is a concern for all that come here. Some of that vegetation has evolved to protect itself from threats posed by intruders and can be as deadly as your actual foe if you aren’t careful. Any combatants heading here should be well-versed in jungle climate, difficult and shifting terrain. The ghosts of project NECROMANCER haunt the ruins of Mount TANTISS .

**The Hidden Hangar**

The hangar bay of the Mount Tantiss base was hidden to all when the doors were closed. On this occasion they were open. The jungle had crept up to the entryway over the years. The massive interior of the hanger could fit an entire wing of Ties akd several freighters if it needed to. Boxes, dolleys, tools and equipment are strewn about, and the deeper inside you travel the darker it gets as the only light comes from door to the outside. It is dank, hot and humid both inside and outside of the facility. The interior has not been overgrown by the jungle at all, through tangles of vines amd shrubbery sit right at the threshold, indicating the door has been opened recently. There are obvious doorways and stairs leading presumably deeper into the facility but each way seems purposely blockade, as if they had been trying to keep something in. A few smashed TIE Fighter radiator fins lay in one dark corner of the cavernous bay.

Deep in the dense and unforgiving forests of Wayland, the remains of a former Imperial base reside on Mount Tantiss. What once was the headquarters of the Advanced Science Division of the Empire, now lies silent. Mostly. Not many who venture into the depths return, let alone return unscathed.
The facility was home to clone research projects, midi-chlorian research, and other secret research and programs. Closed indefinitely after a raid by Clone Force 99, Tantiss Base has been, for all intents and purposes, abandoned since. Emergency lights light the dilapidated halls and the destruction of an escaped Zillo Beast is evident throughout multiple levels, with bloodstains everywhere.
Recent scans have shown that multiple of the lower levels of the facility are still sealed shut and with high levels of Dark Side energy seeping through. Anything could be down there: Labs still containing unfinished, or unsuccessful, experiments and research, with corrosive and dangerous chemicals and heavy security protocols, including still active and still deadly turrets and sentinel droids; Vaults of Sith artifacts and holocrons of Sith research and alchemy. Who knows what else the Empire had been cooking up. There could be far worse things than a Zillo Beast down there…
