Except, there was a catch to it: You must use this money to give members of the Brotherhood gifts. Any members except yourself. And at least 10 of them, including at least 2 from the DC.

Of course at this point, you consider the fact that unwanted presents just MIGHT come back and you get part of the loot after all.
