Competition: Preparing for the Search

To the Fang the Knights will march - The terrain of Trepus on Solyiat has been mapped as best as scanners allow, but the Fang remains hidden still. Somewhere among the mountainous tundra The Fang lurks, shrouded in the freezing mists that make the northern continent so dangerous to traverse. To make matters worse, there are pockets of land and air that make mechanical repulsor lifts unreliable. This trek will be preformed on foot, with potential days between setting off, and locating the Fang.

In more than 500 words, detail how your character prepares for the frozen journey. What trinkets do they bring? Do they take part in any cold adaption training before hand? Do they stock up on booze to stay warm? Maybe they leave a letter or message behind for someone, just in case.
