Competition: [CSP] - House of the Dragon Shenanigans

Alas, our beloved Empress Rayne has suddenly passed. Whether it was an assassination, some mysterious illness, Nightsister magic gone wrong, or she decided to fake her death and dip to enjoy retirement; she is no longer sitting upon the Imperial Throne and has left the Empire in chaos. With the throne vacant, the Houses of Acclivis Draco and Caliburnus realize there’s a chance to take it for their own.

But the game of thrones isn’t so simple. Individual interests may clash with loyalty to one’s Quaestor, sides may be switched in return for favors, or Vincent may just claim the throne for himself and assuage the Houses by burning the Justicar’s desk at a bonfire. The question is, what will you do? Will you support your QUA’s pursuit for greater power, or will you seek power for yourself? How do you go about this? What betrayals might you face or inflict upon others? Are you successful, or is the dream stolen due to an unexpected turn of events? Or do you support the Proconsul’s claim to the throne?

Write about how your character navigates this game of thrones and the civil war between the Houses. Make this as interesting and plot-twisty as possible!

* Entries must be a minimum of 500 words. There is no maximum.
* Your story must be centered on your active characters with a valid character sheet. Wikipedia NPCs, or other characters that you create or invent to tell your story, are encouraged. However, your narrative should focus on one of your primary characters.
