Competition: [HSP] Faster Than Light

Specifics

You are on your home world. Working with your teammates when you stumble upon an interesting find. You hear there are other technologies in space and that other civilizations are able to travel “faster than light”. How do you overcome this barrier and what technologies do you have to create it. From there will it either help you or hinder your chances of exploration, learning and communication with the other civilizations. Describe these events in a 2 page fiction.
