Competition: Symbol of Freedom

Finished
Symbol of Freedom

Specifics

This day marks the beginning of end for the Thuron Monarchy. It marks the day when Harakoans, Colonists and Jedi united to stand up against a common enemy. From this, a symbol was created. This symbol represents those who gave their lives while trying to escape the prison. As a flag it will be hoist high and as a patch it will be worn proudly forever.

*"Our brilliant golden sun rises on a new day for Harakoans - a day that we claim our own new dawn, not one forced upon us by the tyrant's yoke! Our planet will be ours once more. Bear witness to this patch - our sun, favouring us, the chosen people of Harakoa! This is our land, stained blue as our skin, with a sun rising for us! Let our ancestors and the spirits of our dead rise and watch us from above as we retake our home!"*

This symbol is a representation of the Harakoans' will to retake their world. The four-pointed circle represents Yhi, the sun, whereas the blue circle in the middle represents the Harakoans passed by the hands of the New Dawn. The blue sigil beneath represents the land, blue just like the Harakoans.

The use of sun symbolism is intended to be ironic, made by the jaded inspirations of those wishing to lash out at their captors - the sun gives life to all, including the Harakoans, and they would be very quick to remind Thuron and his cronies that the sun had been rising for their people far longer than any of his machinations.

This patch appears with no border so as to be flexible in its application for other graphical purposes. When used on a flag, it is meant to be used on a flag with black background and golden outer trims. The black represents the darkness that the Harakoan people marched their way out of, both literally and spiritually. When used as a patch, it appears in an embossed golden circle.

“One People, One Defense”

Heraldry
The shield shape of the patch represents the common defense of New Tython. The Tomahawk represents the Harakoan tribes. The Blaster rifle represents the human and alien colonists. The lightsaber represents the Jedi order. The three weapons are crossed in the center of the shield to symbolize the unity and shared sacrifice of the three groups in New Tython’s liberation and defense. The blue color of the lightsaber represents the Guardian Order who are always at the forefront of the defense of New Tython. The green background represents the Consular Order who support and unify all the other groups. The yellow border represents the Sentinel order, always on guard on the outer edges of New Tython protecting the other groups from threats in the shadows.
