Competition: [War Games] Poetry - The Jedi Marches On

Finished
[War Games] Poetry - The Jedi Marches On

Specifics

In war, morale is as important as the blasters, the equipment, and the soldiers themselves. High morale is the tide upon which soldiers surge to victory, low morale the chasm they tumble down into in a rout. To help keep their spirits high, inspire them! Show them a verse that expresses your conviction, your faith in our cause, and your will to beat back the Sith once and for all!

Write a poem, minimum five stanzas, in any format you like. In it, tell me of the Jedi way, the upcoming war, the Dark Crusade we've faced. Talk about the men you face, those you fight beside, or the millions you protect. From the fear of the innocent to the pain of the wounded and dying - whatever moves you in his fight, inspire us.

Platform

Poetry, five stanza minimum, free verse.

We were children, burning bright.
We were attacked, causing fright,
We were pushed back, nearly defeated.
It affected us all, even what we eated.

But we weren't down, about to die,
We stood tall and spat "You're about to fry."
We grew strong and able and just,
We planned of a day when our enemies would rust.

The foe laughed at us, thought we were a joke,
But we showed them - and gave them a hard poke!
We fought them on the land, we fought them in the skies,
We dented them. We broke them. We ate all their pies. [sorry, but a rhyme is a rhyme]

We lost good men, but their sacrifice is clear.
We need to shine, not shed a tear.
We need to spread our light, and tear our enemies down;
Live in peace, not under a solitary crown.

Once the long war had ended,
We'd proved formidable, strong, and just.
Many outcomes came from it, but
One thing is clear, one thing is crystal:
They were laughing at us no more.
