Competition: What it Means to be Apex

What it Means to be Apex

The main website page for Apex Brigade is almost complete! The last thing needed to complete it is a description. This gives someone on the outside a quick glimpse at who we are and what we stand for; and if it’s attention catching it can also lead to a person heading to the wiki page and potentially joining the Battleteam.

Using the wikipedia as a reference point, write a short description for the Apex Brigade that will be shown on our team’s main site page. While grammar is important, the entries will be judged on the ability to speak of what the Battleteam stands for and the ability to pique my interest into wanting to know more. Winning entry goes up onto the Apex Brigade’s page.

Formed during the Dark Crusade, Arcona's Apex Brigade was created to meet the Clan's need for a small expeditionary force of diverse specialists. The Shadow Clan cannot reveal too much of its presence and power in its home system or others, but the Brigade allows them to act quickly and quietly should a particular need arise anywhere in the galaxy at any time.

Thanks to Arconan salvage teams, no Apex agent is alone in their deployments. Each agent is paired with a Clone Wars era IG-100 Magnaguard droid, tailored to their respective agent's needs for the best partner possible. Despite the fact that the droid series is roughly sixty years old and prone to developing quirks in individual units over time, their diverse array of stock abilities haven't lost their edge. Each Magnaguard is easily specialized to better complement the esoteric fighting styles of the saberists, gunfighters, and pilots that call the Brigade home.

Their base of operations is centered in an abandoned asteroid mining complex in the Dajorra system, not on any maps of the known galaxy. Even the team's funding in addition to help from Arcona is nearly invisible. The Apex Brigade is quietly assisted by the Dajorra Defense Agency in their efforts, who provides the team with information and other discreet forms of support.

Where other teams may serve as Arcona's hammer or shield, the Apex Brigade's nature as a team of deniable operators and combat specialists allow them to fill the role of the Shadow Clan's scalpel and disappear back into the void without compromising themselves or the Clan.
