Competition: Deus Ex Machina

Deus Ex Machina

Apex Brigade’s droids are in need of their own little wiki stubs! Being a special part of Arcona and your own character, they deserve to have their own sections within their owner’s wikipedia page. Not only will this expand upon your character, it will also expand upon the droids and Apex as a Battleteam.

Using a few paragraphs, flesh out your Magnaguard. Its name, the personality programmed into it and any aesthetic changes are required. Anything else is just extra. Grammar and spelling aren’t important for the time being and will not be judged upon. Winner and placement will be judged upon amount of detail and background put into the wiki stub.

Upon being rebuilt and reformatted from the ground up by the Apex Brigade leader and expert mechanic, Rhiann Baenre, the Magnaguard AB-2 manifested an aberrant personality. Initially mute and skittish around most agents, the droid occupied itself by committing bizarre thefts and other actions around the Brigade base, and was eventually discovered by Bolera. The Knight understood the droid's antics as odd but well meaning acts of kindness, which the droid described as "assistance" and "help", and Adam served as its first friend. The droid became so protective of Bolera that it followed him nearly everywhere, causing other agents to dub the droid Adam's "keeper". The name stuck upon their official partnership.

"Keeper" is atypical among droids in that it exhibits a remarkable capacity for empathy, capable of intuiting one's emotional state from only a small handful of criteria. It reads everyone it encounters, and often makes cryptic and unnerving statements to describe what it perceives. If given the opportunity, Keeper will attempt to subtly "assist" someone he thinks is in need. On a personal basis, Keeper is very polite, gentle, and complimentary when approached, even to complete strangers, but tends to avoid making its presence known. It has a childlike fascination with the world around it and the logical paradoxes presented to it, and Adam does his best to answer the droid's questions. It strongly dislikes causing pain or suffering of any kind in any creature.

Despite its peaceful personality, Keeper is not a pacifistic droid. Its desire to protect those it cares for outweighs its distaste for doing harm. It is quick to alert its partner to danger and defend both Adam and other Brigade agents with its life. Keeper has modified its weaponry and trained with Adam to utilize killing methods that are as efficient and painless as possible for multiple species.

Keeper prefers to look inconspicuous and blend with the natural environment if possible, and wears an olive drab and brown hooded cloak over its body. Its face is distinguished by the multiple lenses over one of its photo-receptors, which have been altered to glow a cyan blue from their original red and give the droid multiple vision types. The droid keeps its weapons hidden as well; concealed within either wrist are custom blasters and vibroblades, making it especially effective in impromptu skirmishes and assassinations. Keeper remains adept with an electrostaff, which is kept in halves on either hip, and also carries an old DC-15 rifle with which the droid was found.

AB-7, also known as Aurodium, is the Magnaguard assigned to Mirus Hi'ija. As a war-droid he is primarily programmed for battle, taking out targets as designated by his master with impunity. However, he also had one additional task: to be a blacksmith's assistant. As proficient with a hammer as he is with an electrostaff, Aurodium is able to strike for his assigned keeper, to perform basic tasks as would be expected of an apprentice smith such as carrying materials and polishing freshly-forged blades. Named for one of the rarest metals in the Galaxy, the droid - despite coming across as a soulless automaton - is an invaluable assistant for the Titan.

Personality wise, he is a droid of no words. Mirus demanded a droid that was able to fight and assist him in his tasks with no complaints and no additional input. In this way there are no distractions and no way for others to even attempt to sway the droid from their imminent demise.

There are very few changes to Aurodium's physical body; most changes involve things like cloaks and fabrics and these changes are impractical inside the heat of the forge where things can easily catch on fire. Instead, Aurodium is kept plain and simple - an ode to the fact that he needs no accoutrements to enact the justice of Arcona.

Model: IG-100 Magnaguard
Serial Number: AB-7-1337
Droid Name: “Sir Leeroy”

Personality: Unit AB-7 had a malfunctioning personality matrix and downloaded information from the holonet in an attempt to self repair. The information AB-7 downloaded was from a popular holonet game set in ancient times prior to the discovery of hyperdrive. Having filled in the gaps in his personality matrix with bits from the hologame, AB-7 or “Sir Leeroy” as he calls himself now believes he is an ancient knight and his missions are “quests.”

Sir Leeroy also has a strong attachment to his assigned Apex Agent, Luna Okami, who we believes is a fair maiden he must protect and woo (in accordance with the rules of chivalry). He tolerates the presence of Luna’s fade Tybalt Erinos who he views as a rival for Luna’s affections. Tybalt finds this hilarious and claims to be unable to fix the droid when Luna requests a reset. For her part, Luna tolerates the droid's strange behavior and incomprehensible outbursts on missions because he is exceedingly effective at whatever assignment she gives him.
