Competition: A PUN Little Fiction Competition

As you all have shown to be a rather punny lot, it seems past time to have a pun based fiction competition. Here's how this is going to work. While working with the prompt below, you'll pick a single theme (which should be evident in the title of your entry) and work in a series of puns based on that theme. For example you could pick "Trees" as your topic and work in arboreal themed puns into your submission. Entries will be graded both based on overall structure and mechanics (40%), overall entertainment value (25%) and quality of and use of puns (35%). There will be a 500 word and 5 pun minimum for this event.
