The way I imagine the Battleteam within Excidium, it's composed of the less nuke-y characters, who pass along targets and information among themselves for favors, to be taken out quietly. To the pleasure of the Emperor, and to not see the Cocytus System fall prey to unchained individuals like Arch and Jorm.

A favorite theme of mine when it comes to spies and assassins is the fact that they can be considered lost souls or the living dead. The spark of my ideas came from one of favorite fictions, Codex Alera, where they have a hunter class of Canim who played the same role that this unit would in CSP. They were considered already “dead”, so that they didn’t have to honor the code of life. They could do whatever needed to be done. This class also played on the hidden threat in plain sight and how that makes you feel uneasy. In my entries play close attention to the meanings of each word and they reflect these sentiments either by themselves or the name as a whole.
