Since his last Clan activity recognition, Kalon has continued to be an invaluable part of Clan Plagueis’s success. Over the last three months, I’ve watched Kalon step into the role of Aedile of Karness Muur and then Quaestor of House Ajunta Pall like he was born for the positions. He’s forged bonds with both his superiors and subordinates, helping knit the community of Plagueis together. Both in the realm of personal activity and leadership he’s made his presence felt, especially in our recent Between Dark and Light feud with Clan Odan-Urr.

On the level of personal activity, he has participated in twelve competitions while placing in two of them to earn a ruby and a sapphire crescent. Of those competitions, eight of them were part of our recent clan feud as was the ruby crescent award (for his second place finish in week two graphics). In addition to that, he also scored a further five top-ten placements to earn points towards our Clan’s eventual victory: Three fourth places across round one graphics, round two fiction, and multimedia, an eighth place finish in week two gaming, and a ninth place finish in week two puzzle. He’s also ten clusters of fire in gaming along with a pair of clusters of ice in the fiction arena.

Far outshining even his excellence as a competitor is his contributions as a leader to Clan Plagueis. The time he spent in Karness Muur helped us pick up the slack when Darkblade left us as Aedile, building a bridge to our current Aedile Laren Uscott. Kalon’s efforts there helped bring a focus to the position that had been lacking, and he helped Laren get his feet underneath him when it was time to take up the mantle. Since handing off HKM Aedile, however, Kalon has truly shown off his ability to shine as a leader. This isn’t his first rodeo leading a house, and it shows. He helped continue the progress in Ajunta Pall and lead his house to fifty-eight entries during our recent clan feud, an event with so narrow a margin of victory for Plagueis that ever entry was needed for us to triumph. Additionally, he has been almost single handedly responsible for a return of the Plagueis “Skype Cave”, recurring Skype-based group calls that take place several times a week between the leadership and members of Plagueis. Over the years it has become clear to us that these sorts of community building activities, while they may not show up on the assessment ledger, are absolutely necessary to building the kind of environment that leads to success in the Brotherhood, both competitively and from the standpoint of unit and overall club health. Seeing and hearing other members as real human beings instead of text on a screen forges ties that make a Clan more than just a roster of names.

Now, allow me to take off my Proconsul hat and put on that of the Wiki Tribune. Kalon has been an absolutely invaluable member of my staff since he came aboard on the first of this year. The first quarter of 2016 saw some major changes to the Brotherhood, and the wiki was not alone. Unlike many of the more mind numbing tasks that we’ve been able to farm out to Windos and his auto-bot in years past, these changes required the human touch: changing the timeline, references to non-canon events, etc. Kalon’s assigned task was to go through the entire Brotherhood timeline and the articles for each and every in-character decade and update every single date that appeared there to the new timeline, an unforgiving task he executed with quickness and quality. In addition, he’s provided invaluable additions to discussions amongst the staff relating to the front page redesign and done his duty in approving wiki articles for JM4 promotions throughout the brotherhood, helping the newer folks get the guidance they need to meet the “quality wiki page” requirements”. There is no question in my mind that my job as Tribune would be much, much harder without Kalon’s efforts.

Serving as my support on both the Wiki and in Clan Plagueis, Kalon has demonstrated the best qualities of a Brotherhood leader, showing a zealous drive for success and great skill at leadership that make him especially deserving of this recognition.

Additional reasons

I'll make this blunt: Hiring Kalon as my Aedile was one of the greatest decisions I have ever had the opportunity to make. When an Equite-level member comes into a new clan, they are sometimes met with apprehension. When Kalon came to us, it was as if he had been a member of Plagueis from day one.

Kalon is without a doubt one of the top members in the Clan. His successes during the Clan Feud are more than enough to make him worthy of this recommendation, but it is his daily interaction and drive to make Clan Plagueis an enjoyable place for the members that push it over the top. I am thrilled to add my voice to the chorus of those recommending him for this award.

Thanks for all you do, Kalon. May there be much cowbell in your future!

Master Dracaryis, 2016-04-27 21:21:20 UTC

What more can I add to what Selika has said? Since joining Ajunta Pall as Aedile, Kalon has been a rock. I won't go into awards and leadership as Selika already did all that. But I know one thing; As a leader, Kalon has proved himself time and again and has shown his colours to the whole of the House. When I joined HAP as Aedile under Dracaryis, I admit to feeling a little out of my depth. When he left to become RM I was at a loss as to what to do and what to expect from a new leadership change. Then came Kalon. He slid into the position easily and made everyone feel good. He showed me the way and guided me in my role. We worked together and I feel stronger for the experience. If he could do this for me, he could do it for others, which he did. Kalon is a wise, kind leader and puts the best interests of the members first; a much needed quality in leadership. He wants the best for the club and its members and proves it over and over again. If one member is ever deserving of this award, it is he. Congratulations, Kalon. This is well deserved for your commitment and dedication to the club and its members.

Primary reason

Since he was last recognized following our Restoration clan event last summer, Eiko stepped up to make lasting contributions (again!) to Clan Plagueis. In the realms of both personal activity and leadership, Eiko has navigated a schedule that left his availability limited to still put up levels of accomplishment that most would be jealous of.

Shortly after Restoration, Eiko stepped into leadership: First as a Battleteam Leader, and then quickly into the role of Quaestor of House Karness Muur. He brought the perspective of the old days of House Revan to the table as well as years of experience, all of which made the transition from his long serving predecessor Callus Bo’Amar far smoother than we had expected when we were faced with the daunting prospect of finding a replacement. Eiko was able to not just maintain the success that Karness Muur had seen, he was able to build on it further. It’s no secret that Karness Muur had always been the “lesser” house in Plagueis, consistently finishing behind Ajunta Pall throughout the Dark Crusade, Fading Light, and Great Jedi War XI. This culminated in HKM being outscored 1048.3 to 1791.96 in last year’s Restoration event against Ajunta Pall. Eiko’s efforts over his tenure really lead to a renaissance for HKM, and it really showed during Between Dark and Light. HKM only trailed HAP by four total entries (54 - 58) and five more top-three placements than HAP (13 vs 8). This is the first time since the two houses were founded (originally as battle teams) where Karness Muur has ever outscored Ajunta Pall on any competitive metric, and without Eiko’s guidance none of that would have been possible. He never missed one report in the five months he served as Quaestor, making sure to keep all his members informed and engaged. He set up camp in our Telegram channel, passing out guidance to his charges (and those of Ajunta Pall for good measure) whenever he could. Even more importantly, he brought the idea for a clan-wide, ongoing run on (The Tides of Darkness) to the leadership and then worked diligently with his then-colleague Dracaryis to bring the event to fruition. This event has gone on to be one of the most popular activities in Plagueis, and Eiko has agreed to continue to ride herd on it even with his recent retirement from Quaestor.

Individually, Eiko has kept his competitive juices flowing. He has co-organized one while participating in seventeen, and he earned for crescents for his efforts (one ruby, two amethyst, and one sapphire). Four of his entries came during our recent clan feud with Odan-Urr where he made important contributions to our second place battleplan entry as well as earning a ninth place finish in the prologue puzzle. He also recruited a member to the Dark Brotherhood and, even though he didn’t join Plagueis (that filthy lightie!) we don’t hold that against Eiko, as attempts to grow the club as a whole are more important than Plagueian Hegemony.

In short, Eiko has been by far the best leader of Karness Muur that our unit has ever seen, and the entire leadership staff is happy that he’s going to stick around the place now that his tenure as Quaestor is completed. He’s done so much for our Clan over the past months that the mind boggles, but we hope that this award at least can show a portion of our gratitude.

Additional reasons

Being the Aedile of a former Quaestor that has left such an impact on House Karness Muur and Clan Plagueis was a daunting task. However, thougg Eiko's personal life ate up more time than he would like, he made the transition for me as his second as smootg as possible.

Eiko leads by example, participating in events with vigour and a fun attitude, while also managing the administration of day-to-day House activities. From a passion for writing he created the Clan Run-On, and his passion for the Clan and wider Brotherhood as a whole brought out the best in members under his purview.

No real words can describe his impact on the House and Clan that hasn't been touched upon, so all I can say is well done, and thank you.

Ah Eiko, my former Quaestor Battle Buddy! Team Dracpool and Eikoschach! There is so much that can be said about Eiko, and I'm glad that Slags went ahead and said most of it already. Eiko is one of the Clan's absolute best: he cares for his members, he works tirelessly to ensure they are provided with activity, and he does it all with a sense of quiet humility that only very seasoned leaders can execute. Under his leadership, House Karness Muur has thrived, both in activity and membership. He creates opportunities for his members through competitions, and one of the most successful clan-wide run-ons Plagueis has seen in an incredibly long time. Eiko always took the time to lend me his ear when I needed advice as Quaestor of House Ajunta Pall, and I can honestly say that without his help, I'd probably have (unintentionally) burned that place to the ground. He agreed with me that the "us vs. them" mentality that had existed between the two houses for so long needed to be eliminated, and was always willing to work with me for the betterment not just of his house, but for mine as well.

If this Clan (and the DB as a whole) was filled with leaders like Eiko, the club (and the world) would be a better place!

Congrats, Eiko. You have more than earned this!
