This is a late award for Shadow that is fully warranted and here is my take on it. <br> <br> Since Shadow returned to full activity early this year he has been extraordinary in all areas. He has been a master of the Wiki for all things related to Clan Taldryan; he has helped with ideas for new competitions and events, and joined in with all those lovely things like Gaming Days, ICTE, and beyond. What really stands out for me though is once Shadow took on the position of Proconsul for the second time in his Brotherhood career. <br> <br> In the position of Proconsul, Shadow has helped me with major assistance on the coming Clan-wide Promotion Guide, fictional development with the starting of the Taldryan Security Services, and updating our Clan Powers setup waiting approval and all that. Shadow played a major part in getting the first Tal Times of the year out in a new fashion, getting a Staff assembled and moving, then finishing it off with many articles himself. Much of this is behind the scenes work and most will be released very soon. Beyond those he helped with all the normal leadership duties while I was MIA at times due to real life hardships. Shadow is a very easy person to talk with and work with, he is one of those I trust with anything in the Clan, and that showed in his leadership as he is a very hands on person in such a position.<br> <br> The Rite of Supremacy and Clan Taldryan’s success was a big goal for Shadow that he pushed full throttle on. Through many, many updates to the Clan, prodding leaders to get involved, and helping members with questions, concerns, and advice, we finish up keeping our undefeated record in major Brotherhood competition. Shadow had his hands in everything, playing a part in every event possible. With spectacular participation and skill Shadow came in 2nd overall in the Rite of Supremacy right behind our own Grand Master Jac.<br> <br> For all his work, as a tremendous leader, as a awesome member, and as a key to Taldryan’s continued dominance, with much respect and honor I recommend Shadow Taldrya to be awarded a Ruby Scepter! It's funny now when I look back at those times and see what a great leader and mentor Shadow has turned into. He is, in a word, the essence of Taldryan. The dedication that Shad shows to the clan, to the members and to the ideals we all hold is second to none. He equals the Taldryan greats; all members would do well to take a page from his book. <br> <br> This experience with the Rite of Supremacy was one of the toughest two weeks I have endured in the DB. There were lots and ups and downs...but Shadow helped pull me and the entire clan through them. Truly, although it was tough, the Rite of Supremacy was perhaps the most rewarding experience I've had in a long time. I enjoyed thoroughly planning, scheming, working and gaming with Shadow. He and I gelled into a deadly team that took #1 and #2 overall in the Brotherhood...the importance of Shadow's contributions there cannot be understated: without Shadow, Taldryan does not win the Rite of Supremacy. He is perhaps the finest vendetta leader in the DB. <br> <br> This is what other clans don't have. They don't have those members that year after year put their real life on hold to help our their online friends, to contribute for the Clan. They may claim to be Brothers, but they don't have the Brotherhood within a Brotherhood. Taldryan is that, and Shadow epitomizes everything we stand for. I am damn proud to stand with Shadow. Damn proud. He has given more than his fair share to Taldryan and the DB, and he asks for nothing in return. He is a great, great member. <br> <br> Frankly, saying thank you to Shadow sounds wholly inadequate. Even this medal is not enough to express Taldryan's gratitude. But we make due with what we have. Shadow, I hope that, to you, this stands as a statement for how much you mean to Taldryan and her members. I was expecting to be brushed aside by the rest of the Clan not only because I was the new guy, but I had also come from another Clan. I was pleasantly mistaken when Shadow made sure I fit in with the rest of the crowd in Dinaari (and the rest of Taldryan). He personally worked with me in Jedi Outcast (JO) to make me the awesome player I am today and made sure I grew comfortable in Taldryan. Throughout the Rite of Supremacy Shadow made sure that everyone was informed of what was going on via e-mail and IRC, but the best part was that he was never forceful - he has the attitude of making you WANT to serve your Clan. I have been involved in this type of club for a long time and Shadow is one of the few people who can command the respect and loyalty of his people without trying terribly hard.<br> <br> I can safely say that if not for Shadow, Taldryan's domination of the Rite of Supremacy would not have been possible. Now that I am Aedile of Dinaari I am privileged enough to learn from Shadow in a whole new light. He had the second most points in the whole RoS. He led Taldryan through the RoS. Duga and he helped keep Taldryan as the best clan in the Brotherhood. He did so much to make sure there would be no chance of an upset. Shadow has been doing a magnificent job since he has stepped up to the role of Proconsul. He brought back the SHAFT competition, and it has found much activity since its recent overhaul. Now he is working on the next issue of the Tal Times and has been working on the clans Wiki. Even before taking the job of PCON, he put in a ton of work into the clans Wiki pages. Shadow has always been a great influence to the clan, and now is no exception. He has done a great job as PCON and he has done a wonderful job leading Taldryan through the RoS. He is working on many things for Duga and has made some great comps for the clan. Shad is a one of the best leaders in the DB and we are lucky to have him. Shadow, you are a great guy, and I can’t think of anyone more deserving of this Ruby Scepter. Oh, and he flag runs in CTF. He was exactly the type of leader we needed - active, enthusiastic, vocal and personally committed. Having active people at the top of the clan pulling Taldryan through such an event makes a real difference to the entire membership's activity. <br> <br> I couldn't have asked for a better PCON. <br> <br> ~Alanna<br> ______________________________________________<br> <br> <br> Before the RoS Taldryan were, to be quite honest, still sleeping. We were confident but had not woken properly then Shadow was appointed PCON and suddenly we were getting loads of emails telling us every detail about every competition in the RoS. He really pushed us hard and certainly was one of the main reasons we won the RoS as he participated in almost every competition as well as leading us. I have also worked with him on getting some good clan wide competitions for GJW practise and he is greatly enthusiastic about them. He has only been PCON for a small time but already the clan is more active and people want to do things. His IRC presence is also very good and has helped alot with the new and old system info. I must admit that I haven't dealt with Malisane recently. But, I can say with 100% certainty and conviction that, during his time as an Envoy, both on the house level and as KAB, Malisane greatly impressed me with his dedication and skill. He, along with Siya, helped make Naga Sadow's envoy system probably the most effective system in the whole Brotherhood. His letters were informative and useful for the new members. Malisane also applied for KCB when I stepped down, and it was a hard choice between him and Siya, but even when he didn't get it, Malisane kept going. He kept himself focused on his duties as an Envoy. As KAB, Malisane helped prepare one of the big Brotherhood advancement reports, so he's been on both sides of things: the action and the results.<br> <br> As I said, I haven't worked with Malisane recently, but since his superiors selected him as Aedile and now as Quaestor, I can only imagine that he has continued his great work with instructing all members under his watch, from the newest apprentice on up. From his first day as Knight Class Envoy he started working on creating an entirely new Envoy system from the wreckage of the previous one. Against resistance he selected his staff and slowly implemented changes that eventually brought Clan Naga Sadow to the top. The Envoy system he created was one of the most successful systems in the Brotherhood, and it remained one of the best the entire time he was Knight Class Envoy (nearly 8 months). From there he moved on to the position of Knight Adjutant. He again gave every tidbit of knowledge he had and supplemented it with a grand imagination to help begin the start of a fictional history for the Society. He helped design an Envoy base, helped pull together information to add to the wikipedia, and continued to act as KCE for his clan. Since leaving the Envoy staff Malisane has continued to help train new envoys, and has never stopped mentoring new members who join not only Clan Naga Sadow, but any recruit who joins regardless of Clan. He has even helped to mentor some of the higher ranking members when things have gotten rough and has more than once prevented arguments and resignations. The Society of Envoys recognizes and Thanks him for all of his hard work and endless dedication - we are better because of everything you've given. He is a real boon to have in our house. I find his dry humor and calm manner to be refreshing in heated debates. To be bluntly honest, I hated him at first. But, as time went on, and Malisane rose through the ranks, I began to find myself with a great deal of respect for him. Now, as my equal as the Quaestor of Naga Sadow's other house, I've found that respect has only grown. I look to Malisane for advice on many topics that I won't discuss with anyone else in the Brotherhood, and I know that I can trust what I say to him, and I can trust the advice I receive.<br> <br> Malisane served the Society of Envoys for nearly 18 months, ultimately rising to Knight Adjutant of the Brotherhood. During his time in the Envoys, Malisane made sweeping changes, particulary to the way Clan Naga Sadow used thier Envoys. At times, I was at odds with Malisane over various issues, however in the end looking at everything in hindsight, Malisane's service was nothing but impeccable, and his motives were true to the goals of the Brotherhood.<br> <br> Malisane's tenure as an Envoy brought about sweeping changes in the Brotherhood, at the smallest levels, where they affected the most change. Now, Malisane has left the Society of Envoys, and taken up the mantle of leadership in House Ludo Kressh. I have no doubt that, down the road, Malisane will become a leader in this club, either at the helm of this Clan, or even possibly more. As Clan Envoy, he was one of the first people I came into contact with, and so I was more than happy to work under him when I was given the job of House Envoy for HLK. Taking Malisane's place as Clan Envoy months later was a pleasure, and when I took the job, one of the first thoughts I had was that it would be hard for me to be half the man Mali was in the job. As Aedile of House Ludo Kressh, he went from strength to strength, and I couldn't be happier for him when he became Quaestor - and, becoming AED myself, I once again wondered if I could live up to Malisane in the role.<br> <br> As a QUA - or indeed in any of the positions he's been in - one crucial thing about Mali stands out: he genuinely cares about his House and his Clan. Some people might say that's expected, but I can truthfully say I have never seen a more selfless individual who puts HLK and CNS' best interests first. I'm more than certain Malisane will continue to do an excellent job as Quaestor, and should he ever go further in his career and become PCON or maybe even CON of CNS, then I for one will be content that the Clan is in good hands. After his devotion to the Clan and his care for everyone in it for all this time, I feel Malisane has fully earned the Ruby Scepter. He has become one of the most respected, influential and recognised members in the Clan, a good friend, active competitor and impartial judge of character. He epitomises what Clan Naga Sadow strives for and is an example to others.<br> <br> The Ruby Scepter is said to be the sign of a scholar. Awarded to one of the great mentors of the Brotherhood. Their work will have touched a range of others with significant contributions in the areas of instruction, invention and mentorship. From his former work as Envoy and then Adjutant to the Knight Commander of the Brotherhood, to Quaestor and his services to the Conclave of Naga Sadow I can think of no other who satisfies these criteria so fully. Malisane has touched many members and his lead is one that should be followed.<br> <br> It is a proud day for me and the whole of Clan Naga Sadow to see one of its own joining the ranks of the holders of what is the 4th most precious medal in the Dark Brotherhood.<br> <br> Congratulations, my friend.<br> <br> Darth Vexatus<br> Son of Sadow<br> <br> **<br> <br> This recommendation is going out for a medal that's considered fairly high-up in the DB, and it's usually given for a very specific purpose. So, the fact that Malisane provided a year and a half of dedicated service to the Society of Envoys would seem like an appropriate reason to award a Ruby Scepter.<br> <br> However, my job in writing this recommendation is to discuss Malisane's accomplishments in areas outside of the Society of Envoys. Malisane was an Envoy when he was appointed Aedile of House Ludo Kressh, which he performed admirably. Towards the end of her tenure as Quaestor of House Ludo Kressh, Sildrin started getting (as far as I know) very busy with her IRL job, limiting her time for her Quaestor duties. Malisane helped pick up the slack. When Sildrin was appointed Seneschal, Malisane easily became the obvious choice to take her place as Quaestor. He spent about six months as Aedile and has been Quaestor for about two and a half months.<br> <br> For a relatively new member, Malisane is extremely mature and laid back. I think that's partially because he joined the DB at a later age than most people do. But, it's in his nature. He is content to stay in his current position for as long as it is necessary, and he is in no rush to go up the chain of command. He takes simple satisfaction in a job well done, and that reminds me of another great member of the DB...that would be me. He is a consistently active member of the DB, and he does his job well. House Ludo Kressh has had only 12 Quaestors in its 8 year history, which I think is remarkable for a position that usually has a lot of turnover (because people get promoted or resign or whatever). Malisane does the little chores of the Quaestor without fail. I'll notice a member who should get promoted, and a few hours later, that person will have been promoted, because the recommendation was sent so quickly. It's sometimes annoying, because I'll want to promote people myself on the side, just to show that I'm still doing something. It's because I have House Summits who do their jobs so well, that I as the Consul don't have that much to do.<br> <br> I consider Malisane to be a trusted advisor, with the same level of maturity of Goatham. Troutrooper has been nothing less than a phenomenal Praetor. I am truly glad to have him assisting me in the various aspects of my job, and today I am pleased to award him with a Ruby Sceptre.<br> <br> Troutrooper was chosen in July to replace Pyralis as my Praetor. He had some awfully big shoes to fill, Pyralis was an active and influential member of my staff. Troutrooper has had no problem with that, however - he has been just as active and influential as his predecessor. TT regularly comments on projects, creates and reviews documents, assists with small and large tasks and serves as a source of information and advice. He is a very wise member and has greatly helped me in plotting a course for the Brotherhood. He is a hard worker and a good friend.<br> <br> Most impressive has been Troutrooper's work with the Alacrity project. His personal writing has doubled the amount of Alacrity available, and he has worked hard on editing and bringing the other documents into fruition. What I appreciate most is that Troutrooper volunteered of his own initiative to fully take over the management of the project. He now leads the staff, tracks their progress and follows up with them regularly. His work in this area will help the leaders of today leave a legacy of important documents for the leaders of tomorrow.<br> <br> Troutrooper also has his hands in a variety of other projects. From his detailed and useful edits of the 40-page Antei System document, to the revamp of the force powers to the creation of rank rituals, TT does it all. I appreciate everything he does and can only foresee his role getting larger.<br> <br> Thank you, Troutrooper, for all that you do.<br> - Grand Master Jac Cotelin<br> <br> ____________________________<br> <br> The Ruby Scepter is awarded to those individuals who have touched a wide range of others within the Dark Brotherhood as they will have contributed significantly in the areas of instruction, invention and mentorship. I can think of no other award that would fit the recent service of Pontifex Troutrooper. Troutrooper took over the responsibility of writing the Alacrity of the Commander Leadership Manuals and has exceeded expectations. Troutrooper has created a plan of action to complete the 40 or so slated Alacrity documents and he has thus far created quality and timely additions including "Email Best Practices", "Problem Members", and "Writing Unit Reports". Troutrooper's work has doubled the previous amount of Alacrity Documents and the quality of his work has passed the standard of the Dark Council with little or no editing. The dedication, time, and energy that Troutrooper has spent on the Alacrity documents will pay dividends in the Dark Brotherhood for years to come. Our leaders will rely on these documents as the standard of behavior, duty, and service while serving in positions of authority. The Ruby Scepter is awarded for achievement and/or contributions in the area of instruction, invention, and mentorship. Based on these criteria, I can think of no one more deserving than DP Kaine Mandaala. Several months ago the DJBWiki was created to serve as an information tool and living library for the Dark Brotherhood. DP Mandaala contacted me after he found out about the project and volunteered his experience and time to the project. Immediately Kaine separated himself from all others working on the Wiki through the sheer volume of work he contributed. Kaine identified several areas for improvement and implemented them using his knowledge of Wiki coding. When the growth of the DJBWiki exploded, Jac and I identified the need for a Wiki Tribune. There was only one choice for this position, and that choice was Kaine. After receiving the position of Wiki Tribune, Kaine created a staff and set down tasks and goals for the staff to accomplish. Since that time, templates have been created for OOB, medals, characters, ships, and planets. In addition to this work, the main page of the Wiki has gone through a tremendous change and looks better than most wikis on the web. Kaine is a true asset to the DJB and his work on the DJBWiki is a testament to his dedication to our Club. It is a valuable tool that will be used for years; Kaine being the primary force behind its development.<br> <br> Beyond the WIki, Kaine has been a great help in keeping the message boards updated and policed. I can't tell you what a relief it is to know that the MBs are consistently taken care of by someone who actually cares to do it. Consul is a difficult position to prepare for and much harder when it takes you as a surprise. When Spears stepped down and Tarentum needed a new Consul, however, Welshman gladly stepped up to the challenge. Although he had not experienced the full range of things that a Proconsul should before stepping up, Welshman was able to admirably make the switch from second in command to the man in charge. Using his resources in Tarentum wisely, Welshman made quick progress on many ongoing projects and add new innovations to the Clan. Together, with Telona, Welshman oversaw as Tarentum continued growing into an even better clan. He place the proper people into leadership positions, ensured that his members were taken care of, spoke well for them in Dark Council discussions and made the a lasting effort on his clan. Like the other Consuls of Tarentum before him, Welshman was able to balance the politics of the DB with one of the most outspoken clans in the DB, a job not easily done. Even with a resistance towards participation in a sub-par Great Jedi War, Welshman was able to will his clan along for a good showing.<br> <br> I am greatful for the time Welshman spent as Consul of Tarentum. I believe he has left the next Consul with an improved clan, and for his efforts deserves the coming praise. He is, by far, worthy of this award.<br> <br> - GM Jac Cotelin<br> <br> -----------------------------------------------------<br> <br> Welshman has been a fiercely loyal and committed leader of Tarentum. He has gone through an amazing tenure of serving the Clan as Proconsul to both Anshar and Spears, which were periods that were mainly to ensure that Welshman would be ready to take his rightful place as leader of this ancient Clan. His attitude has been commendable, and in his time as Consul, he has served to be both a stable influence, and has served the needs of both Houses, and of new members. He has been dedicated and consistent in his presence on IRC and through reports. He is a fountain of knowledge for the members of this Clan, and has always worked to further the bonds of friendship and family within this Clan. During this most recent Great Jedi War, even though their was a great lack of desire to participate in such a wretched competition, Welshman remained as a point of encouragement for the members, and worked to see Tarentum benefit as much as possible from the War. He never stopped his work and efforts of Tarentum during the entire reign of Consul, and Proconsul before it. He worked to expand projects that began back when I was first Consul, as well as add to the Clan through innovative projects and creations of his own. Welshman is one of those members who has struggled through many trials, but has always maintained the proper attitude, and has been an example to everyone of what a leader should be. He is a member of Tarentum whose name will never be forgotten, and someone that everyone in Tarentum considers a friend.<br> <br> Welshman, thank you very much for your service as Consul, and your continued presence within our Clan.<br> <br> -DJM Sith Bloodfyre-Tarentae

Awarded after recommendation from DJM Sarin and Clan Plagueis:

The Ruby Scepter is the sign of a scholar in the Dark Side and its lore. It is awarded for achievement and/or contributions in the area of instruction, invention, and mentorship to one's Clan or Order. I can think of no one who is more worthy and deserving of this award than Dark Adept Jonaleth Isradia. Jonaleth is the Ultimate example of what a Master should be in the Dark Brotherhood. He is universally respected by his peers and more importantly by those he has mentored from Journeymen to Equite. Over the course of the past several years Jonaleth has mentored no less than six individuals into the Equite Class. His knowledge and training of these members have benefitted the entire Dark Brotherhood.

In addition to the training and mentoring of several members of Clan Plagueis, Jonaleth has also contributed to the area of invention and instuction by creating an enormous volume of work titled The Lore of Plagueis. This volume of work totals in at 20 pages of 10 font verdana and serves as a fictional drop for all that is Clan Plagueis. The Lore of Plagueis includes the History of the Clan, The Creation of the Clan's Force Powers, The Creation of the Clan's Elder Council of the Wise, the Clan's promotion guidelines, the Clan's Dark Jedi Knight Trials, The Clan's Force Powers, and the Clan's possessions. This body of work can only be summed up with the word, amazing.

On a personal note, I believe Jonaleth deserves this award because he truly is the Loremaster of Plagueis, Exar Kun, and the clan that preceeded that (you know, the evil one we dropped at Exodus). Jonaleth has kept meticulous records of the past of all of these Clans and has played a crucial part in allowing me to rebuild and create the history of Clan Plagueis. His devotion to ensuring the growth and spread of knowledge within the Clan is unparalleled anywhere else in the Dark Brotherhood. When I joined the Brotherhood, I was greeted by Jonaleth and was struck by the wealth of knowledge that he possessed. Since then, he has always been one to turn to when you needed help with a competition entry or guidance in your trials. Having been a student of his, I have valued his opinion and his judgement. I could go on and on for ages in a recommendation of Anshar, but I won’t Anshar excels at what he does.
The description of the Ruby Scepter says the following: Achievement and/or contributions in the area of instruction, invention, and mentorship to one's Clan or Order.

Anshar has gone over and beyond this. He has almost single handedly revived the Envoys and turned them into a well-oiled machine. This in turn has greatly aided the Brotherhoods retention rates as well as the pure numbers of members that join. In his duties as P:HM Anshar has done more then anyone I can think of in the instruction of members. While maintaining the highest degrees of activity in furthering the membership as KCB and P:HM, he is also the CON of Tarentum and formerly PCON of the same Clan. In doing all of this Anshar has not only invented new ways for the Brotherhood to do things but he has excelled at Instruction, Invention and Mentorship.

It is with the full power of my office and my eternal thanks that I extend this award to Anshar on behalf of the entire Brotherhood.

Greetings once again,

Now it is my pleasure to award Telona Murrage for her service to the Brotherhood.

Telona has been serving as Krath High Priestess for almost four months now. It seems time flies around here -- I remember it as yesterday when Alanna left the spot. Telona had some big shoes to fill, and I think she has adapted quite well to her new job.

Telona is a very steady leader. I like that her activities are well-organized and well-executed. She has a passion for the order and for the Brotherhood at large, emulating the qualities that have always brought about great High Priestesess in the past. I am encouraged by her, and the Krath order as a whole -- activities like the Debate Competition are great new avenues for the DB to take.

Telona has always been quick with my requests. Her reports come in on time, and she volunteers for things that need support from the Dark Council members. I wish we could clone her a few times, personally.

Today I award Telona a Ruby Sceptre for her continued service to the Order and to the Brotherhood. Congratulations, Telona. Keep up the excellent work.

Rekio is a leader that I have seen grow a lot over the past several months. When he took over as Consul, he had a great deal of potential, but had some hard shoes to fill, taking over after BF. Rekio has filled those shoes well, though. He has grown in confidence and ability since taking over Tarentum and is now leading with great conviction and vision.

Perhaps what I like the most about Rekio is his ability to shoot straight with me. He tells me what he thinks, when he thinks it, and always has good contributions to the discussions he is involved in. Most recently, I have truly been impresse with his sugestions for the new website. Rekio spent a lot of time compiling his thoughts, example screen shots and the like to show me how he felt the mission compendium and Tour of Duty portions of the site should work. His ideas were truly innovative, and I thank him for his efforts there.

Rekio has done a fine job as Consul and P:SHW. He is a true asset to the Brotherhood and deserves whateer recognition e give him and more.

Rekio has been serving as my Praetor for nearly a year. In that time, he has been a motivating force behind many of the projects I've had going, reminding me what needs to be done, what people are waiting on, etc. He's also taken care of a number of things on his own, including the Tour of Duty idea, the Mission Beta Testing compendium site, and working towards getting the Sith site recoded that Mav originally did for Goat. Rekio has been self-motivated in much of what he does, and I appreciate the fact that i don't have to micro-manage him, or make every decision for him. He has great ideas, a true desire to help the Sith Order, and I don't believe I could do my job adequately without him. In this time when I have little time, and have been absent in many ways compared to before, I appreciate all of my staff, especially Rekio.
