In Arcona we've had many 'long time rankers'. We've had the nine-year Jedi Huntress, Fet'ai'narun; the forever-Protectors, Dalk Darklighter and Walker Boh; and the five-year Knight, Wes Biriuk (formerly, Xar Kahn).
Well, wait no longer. Since returning to active duty, Wes has been a stellar example of what we expect from our membership. Unlike some who will simply settle for doing what is required of them, Wes always goes beyond in an attempt to secure glory for his Clan. Over the past two chapters of the Crusade, for example, Wes has not only jumped headlong into some really rather astonishing activity, but he has also demonstrated his ability to drum up support around him. He has been vocal and active in Arcona's drive for participation; indeed, if it were not for his efforts, I doubt we would have been able to secure the extra two entries that stood between Arcona and Taldryan's victory in the latest chapter. Such is his influence.
Obelisk Templar is the first rank down an order-specific path. It denotes dedication, hard work, and devotion to one's unit. In these attributes, Wes has no equal. Indeed, according to the guidelines, Obelisk Templar is awarded '... after demonstrating above and beyond performance as a Dark Jedi Knight.' Well, I can say without hesitation that Wes has not only demonstrated his ability beyond his rank, he has consistently affirmed it.
The Quaestor and Aedile of House Galeres will now go into his accomplishments as a Knight of Arcona. For now, let me just say that this promotion is very well earned.

This recommendation is one of those that Iâve looked forward to writing the most, Wes has been with Galeres for years and has unfortunately darted in and out of activity due to rl issues, but he has always come back to the fold and produced result after result each time. When Wes came back last time, he promised me he was going to work his backside off to help show why Galeres was such a fantastic House and he didnât let me down. Wes has been a beacon of activity these last few months, and since his last promotion, he has received 1 Crescent with Diamond star, 2 Crescent with Sapphire stars, 2 Crescents with Amethyst stars, 1 Crescent with Quartz star and 1 Crescent with Topaz star as well as 114 Clusters of Fire, 1 Cluster of Ice, 2 Seals of Unity, 1 Seal of Defiance and 8 Seals of Decimation.
Added to this, Wes has earned 1 Dark Cross, 2 Anteian Crosses and 1 Steel Cross for the hard work and dedication heâs shown to the Brotherhood. Since his last promo, Wes has passed several SA exams, taking time out to participate in one of the more underappreciated aspects of the Brotherhood. He passed Cryptology 101, GMRG History, Astronomy Studies, Lightsaber Studies and the most recent Cryptology exam in the last bit of the Dark Crusade event. He has also shown massive activity in Dark Crusade, participating in 9 of the last 11 events. He was a major factor in the success of Team Arcownageâs second place wiki page entry for Krayiss II and performed heavily in Beyond the Horizons and Trials of Loyalty where he showed the Clan just what he could do when given the chance to perform.
He has participated in several competitions as listed below: Clan Arcona Caption Competition: Volume 1, Arconan Great Hunt III - Skilled Events, Trivia, What are those initials?, [TOL - Week 1] Team Name/Logo, [TOL - Week 1] Atagonise, Whereâs Waldo, [BTH- Weeks 1 & 2] Run-On, [BTH - Week 1] Trivia, [BTH - Week 1] Initialisation (Acronym), Beyond the Horizon: A Cooperative Event, [Crusade - Rhelg] Training Encryption and many more during Dark Crusade.
Wes has long been overdue the opportunity to progress to the ranks of the Equites and Iâm glad to be the one who recommends that he join the brotherhood within the Brotherhood. Congratulations, Wes on your promotion to Obelisk Templar.

I am honoured to be recommending Wes for his promotion to the rank of Obelisk Templar. This promotion has been a long time coming, his hard work and dedication to not only House Galeres and Clan Arcona has been a beacon of activity. Though Sanguinius has gone into detail about his activity, I would like to say some more about Wes and his time in Arcona.
Since his last promotion Wes has continued to try and grow inside of the Brotherhood, he always has a constant level of activity and is on IRC chatting with members of the House and Clan. He is normally a high spirited member who will always engage and help develop the House and Clan. He has continued to drive out activity on an outstanding level, never faltering and playing a huge part inside of Dark Crusade.Wes continues to try everything, even though some competitions are out of his comfort zone he continues to strive to do his best.
As an individual he is helpful and friendly to members inside and outside of Arcona. He has taken the time to get himself involved in emails voicing his opinion inside of the Clan. As well as taking the time to help members when it is needed showing that he puts himself out there no matter how small or big the task is that someone needs help with. Plus as his activity from Sangâs recc shows he has dedicated himself to being a fully active member since his promotion to the rank of Dark Jedi Knight.
For all of the reasons above and have been stated by others I am proud to see Wes finally step into the ranks of the Equites. His hard work and devotion to the clan and House shows every day, and he drives activity for Both. Congratulations Wes on making it to the rank of Obelisk Templar. Keep up the hard work dude.
