This exemplary award is used to award those who have toiled hard for the club, and continue to press onward for the good of the Brotherhood.

This year, the award goes to Orv d'Tana Arconae, Seneschal of the Brotherhood. His efforts to streamline, speed up and improve the experience of our members has been particularly evident lately, witht he changes to the Forums, the wikipedia ramp-up, and his ever continuing devotion to the great beast project that Possessions has become. Add to this his constant having to deal with people bothering him at all hours about bugs and clarification on coding stuff, and you begin to see why Seneschals have a rough job. And despite all this, a full-time job and a family, Orv still maintains an incredibly freindly demeanor. He's accessible, hard-working, and a hell of an impressive coder. Invaluable, in a word.

I want to take a moment and personally thank Orv. I know that coding is one of those inherently aggravating sorts of work, and to have the wherewithall to subject yourself to countless hours of it for the enjoyment of others is impressively selfless. Thank you, Orv. ~Muz Ashen

A tradition that we have on Exodus day is the rewarding of one exceptional member with one of our rarest awards, the silver Sash. Awarded only once a year, this sacrament is given onlyto those who have bled for the Brotherhood to keep it strong, to keep it running, and to help ensure that it survives beyond even our time here.

This year, the one who deserves such an honor has gone well above and beyond what was expected of him. Beyond advising the Dark Council, beyond toiling on a seemingly endless parade of improvements for the club, beyond his visionary ideas to expand the Brotherhood even further, he has returned to active duty with an almost masochistic drive. The Sith Lord known as Sarin has been an almost constant voice among the Dark Council since his tenure as Consul of Plagueis began, and his wisdom, experience, and work ethic has helped propel us forward. Eve in 'retirement', Sarin has helped form the first independent house in this club in years, and his guidance has helped them achieve beyond even their own expectations. Returning to the Dark Council but only recently, his hand has been felt even stronger still as he embraces and attacks our projects and expansions to our club. This fervor and love for our Brotherhood is exceptional and worthy of more praise, but he would probably tell me not to waste any more time on him, and focus more on what else needs to be done.

Sarin, Thank you for all that you do and have done. Enjoy your reward. You have more than earned it.

The Silver Sash is an honorific that only a few members will ever have the opportunity to have bestowed upon them. Esteemed only second to the Golden Lightsaber, this award is granted just one time each year and only to those who have shown unmatched loyalty to the Dark Brotherhood.

I am honored that this year's award is being presented to my long time Praetor, Raken. Raken's accomplishments are seldom discussed by the general membership of the Dark Brotherhood, yet each and every member is impacted by Raken's work on a daily basis. The Antei Project, the Discipline System, The Force Powers, the fictional storyline of the Dark Brotherhood for two years, the Antei Defense Fleet, and countless other documents have been crafted by Raken.

Many members contribute the Dark Brotherhood, but seldom few contribute without the expectation of reward. This is what makes Raken so special. Raken is the ultimate member of this organization because he is here to enjoy himself and he does so by creating and generating content that he enjoys and that so many of us have enjoyed.

Congratulations Raken, you truly are one of the great members of this club. ~ Sarin, Sith Lord

As tradition dictates, one exceptional individual is granted the Silver Sash. Bestowed but once a year, this award is one of the rarest and hardest to achieve within the club. To bear one only illuminates the distinguished career and impact on the club that they have had. This year, the man known only as Raken bears that distinction. Raken's work is known to all of us, and it is really due to his unending efforts that we have the depth of rich storytelling behind the last two wars. It is due to his efforts that Orders mean something other than just a character's favorite color. Raken never seeks glory, he never seeks reward. He does what he does, he puts in the work entirely for the good of the brotherhood, for our enjoyment, and he is quiet and humble about it. There are few in the Brotherhood who have this drive, this desire, and I wish to congratulate his efforts and his attitude, as well as display to all what is possible without drama, without ego.

Raken, Congratulations on your Silver Sash. I am glad to have you here with us, in this club. ~ Muz Ashen, Dark Lord of the Sith

There are plenty of people who try and help out the club in their own way over the course of a year. Yet how many people will focus all of their time and energy into making this club better, while forgoing the usual trappings of doing work for the entire Brotherhood. For most they will only truly give themselves to the club when given the "power and prestige" of being on the Dark Council. Yet here is someone who takes a position that has no real "power", and yet without him this club would truly be worse off. In the last year he has created well over 200 pages of fiction that surpasses many of the "professionals" who are paid to write Star Wars fiction for mass consumption. The work involved in truly expanding the Brotherhood storyline is tremendous, with the craftsmanship involved not previously seen in this club. On top of that he has built a realistic "army" for the club to use, and creating a viable framework from which we can finally use our Orders as more than just colour-coding ourselves. This is of course more than enough to show why Raken should be receiving an honour so few have received in the Brotherhood's history. No, the astounding part is that this year is a carry over of what he has been doing all along. He has spent well over a year being the driving force behind much of the changes made in the Brotherhood. He has more than shown himself to be deserving of this award many times over. Congratulations, Raks! ~ Halcyon Rokir, Sith Lord

I believe the recommendations below my own cover the lengthly reasons that Muz Keibatsu is worthy of the Silver Sash. Rather than recount the unbelievable amount of work and dedication Muz has put into the Dark Brotherhood, I would like to talk about what makes Muz the absolute right person for this award.

Muz Keibatsu was selected as the Deputy Grand Master one year ago and his reception was less than ideal. Members complained that Muz was a one trick pony or that he possessed some sort of insurmountable bias that would never allow him to excel as a Deputy Grand Master. Some members even went as far as to say Muz would never be appointed as the Grand Master and that he might not even make it six months as the DGM.

I think it is safe to say that these members were wrong. Muz has proven to be one of the most formidable and accomplished Deputy Grand Masters in the history of the Dark Brotherhood. His work and selfless service to our club have placed him in the rarefied air that only our Immortals have achieved.

This last year with Muz as DGM has assured everyone in the Dark Brotherhood that he is the absolute right person for this award and the absolute right person to succeed me as Grand Master.

Congratulations Muz, I am very thankful for all you have done.

Grand Master Sarin Grand Master of the Dark Brotherhood

In an age where few stand worthy of the organization’s highest honors, Dark Jedi Master Muz Keibatsu Sadow surely stands foremost among them. Deputy Grand Master, Sith Lord, and Champion of the Antei Combat Centre are but a few of this man’s achievements. The laurels he has garnered in four years of service eclipse most of those earned by influential members in twice the time.

Muz has served as Deputy Grand Master for the last year helping Sarin to reshape the club into something not only more interesting and entertaining, but also something of which to be proud as a member, administrator, and fan. He has put in the long hours with us creating events like the Rite of Supremacy and the Great Jedi War and has risen to the occasion time and again.

While balancing the nebulous duties of DGM, Muz has also continued to contribute to the fictional nature of the club with his impressive Hand to Hand Guide. His second compendium, blending canonical information with an expert crafting of fanon, is not only useful and interesting, but serves to more intricately weave the mythological fabric of the Dark Brotherhood we’re all working to create.

Before ascending as the Shadow Hand, Muz was the Brotherhood’s Herald and provider of professional quality art that would otherwise be unavailable to us. Though his responsibilities turn his hand to the more mundane policing of general club activities and member management, Muz continues to find time to help supplement the current Herald’s work with his own. Rather than losing the talents of an excellent Herald, the Brotherhood simply retained them while exploiting yet more of Muz’s dynamic energy.

Muz is also a pleasure to work with maintaining his creativity and positive attitude regardless of the situation or project. Muz delivers and he delivers quality in a time when one or the other is rare enough let alone both. I am most impressed with Muz in all aspects of his character as a member, a developer, and most importantly, a friend.

Raken Praetor Dude

There are many people who go above and beyond what is asked of them, and truly contribute to the whole of the Brotherhood. However, it was a pretty easy choice to determine who was that one special member who just went all out and was an integral part of the Dark Brotherhood this past year. He was instrumental in running a fairly problem-free GJW, ensuring that everything was completed and graded in record time. He is constantly dealing with all issues around the DB, dealing with the various problems and crises that do pop up quite frequently. He continues to be a large provider of graphics and related work for the numerous projects that are coming down the pipe. The amount of hours that are put in are staggering.

It's hard to really grasp what Muz does from the outside looking in. So much of his work is never really seen, or takes so much time to be seen, due to the sheer amount. I have however seen him work on a constant basis. I know what he goes through as DGM, and "on the side" he continues to produce mass amounts of material for use by the Dark Brotherhood as a whole, and not just for certain parts of it. Everything he does is for the whole of the club. His was the name that first popped into my head when someone needed to be chosen for this honour, and he is more than deserving of it. Congratulations!

While the Seal of Loyalty recognizes numerous members of the Brotherhood, the Silver Sash instead recognizes only one such member every year for their outstanding allegiance and consistent service to the Brotherhood over the course of that year. Recipients of the Silver Sash are the true pillars of the Dark Brotherhood, many times foregoing their own personal goals and instead working towards the betterment of the club as a whole. A member may only be rewarded this honor once.<br> <br> This year, the Silver Sash is awarded to Combat Master Dalthid. Dark Jedi Master Dalthid has been a pillar of the Dark Brotherhood and has placed the organization above his own personal needs. Dalthid’s continued selfless service and dedication is an example for all members of the Dark Brotherhood to follow and I am proud to award him with this great honor. Congratulations Dalthid!

His Eminence, Grand Master Firefox of the Star Chamber:<br> One of the toughest aspects of being a Grand Master is to ensure that things get done, that conflicts are kept to a minimum and for members to enjoy themselves. Without constant effort, things can easily go bad. Somehow Jac has managed to keep the Dark Brotherhood going while working very hard himself on far more than his position indicates. At times, a good Grand Master has to hold the Dark Brotherhood together by sheer strength of will alone. <br><br> It would be very easy to simply give in to people's demands and make them happy right now. But someone needs the vision to see years ahead and focus on long term goals while dismissing short sighted immediate rewards. Far too many people still believe that only they should be rewarded. It is good to see that some of us place the needs of the Dark Brotherhood before their own. <br><br> His Eminence, Grand Master Thedek of the Star Chamber:<br> Sorry for getting to this so slowly, but Jac completely has my rec for this award. He totally deserves it. I know you said it will go out in the DV, will it be announced in an IRC meeting? I would like to know when, if that was the case... I'd want to show up. =) <br><br> Lord Thedek<br> Grand Master Emeritus<br> <br> From the Dark Councillors of the Dark Brotherhood<br> <br> Dark Jedi Master Xanos Sadow of the Dark Council (DGM): <br>Where does one begin? Jac has been Grand Master now for nearly eighteen months after taking over from Firefox in late 2004. Outside the occasional Cluster of Fire he hasn’t seen any form of recognition at all during this period, even Grand Master itself wasn’t new considering he had previously held the throne some years ago. <br><br> During this time he has worked selflessly to hold the Dark Brotherhood together during what has not been the easiest of times. Having taken over as the final euphoria of the Split was fading away, and during a period of post-GJW cool-down presented Jac with quite a unique challenge, and one he faced up too readily and without hesitation. We’ve seen Rites of Supremacy, new games, substantial reform of the Dark Council, and significant changes to the website, as well as a mountain of other things I have almost certainly missed. <br><br> In a time when we could just have been thinking “Thank Firefox for getting us out of the EH, now lets have some quiet” Jac provided the driving force to avoid us slipping into a stagnant period and continue pressing us forward to adapt in the face of real challenge. During 2005 we saw Multi-Order Houses take hold, despite notable public opposition, reforming Clan Summits in a way that has been a tremendous success. Its easy to think “Jac sucks, he does stuff we don’t want” but its that motivation that has kept the club going, we all talk about what we hated most about the EH but at the end of the day stagnation is what kills a club, and its stagnation Jac has done his best to avoid. Change might not always be popular, but it’s necessary for the long term survival of the DB. It takes a strong GM to get such things done. <br><br> We all know what Jac’s done though. What’s more impressive is the fact he’s got no reason to do it. He’s Grand Master. He’s got a Golden Lightsaber. He’s married. He’s going to be a lawyer. Why the hell does he care? It’s not like he’s some nerd stuck inside with nothing better to do. The man has a life, and a career, whatever kick he might get out of “bossing some geeks around online” certainly can’t be enough to keep him here. The fact is he cares. He really cares, and he doesn’t want to see the DB go under. He’s put a decade into this club, a fifth of that time as the head of it, that’s more than half a lot of our member’s real lives. It’s that passionate concern that’s gone unrewarded for years, truly years, his last real medal was a Diamond Sword back when he was Deputy Grand Master ages ago, and even then it was early on during his time as DGM, he’s run a whole GJW since, on top of all the stuff he’s done since becoming GM again. <br><br> The only thing that really disappoints me is the fact this is just a Silver Sash. It’s a shame in a way that we’re unable to give Jac a Golden Lightsaber, but of course he already has one and it’d be an even bigger injustice if he didn’t. I remember suggesting a while back we induct him into the Hall of Immortals, but again, in his selfless manner, he felt he didn’t deserve that until the list of others who had earned it in the past were recognized first. While a Silver Sash is the only medal left to give its not the medal that counts so much as the immense appreciation people have for Jac. He may not have freed us from a tyrannical oppressor, or nurtured us from a baby, but he has provided us with the drive, determination, and stability that have kept this club alive for so long. In Jac’s case he doesn’t need one of these big events to have happened during his time, he will be remembered regardless. <br><br> We often think back to Khyron as the great double serving Grand Master of the past, but have no doubt that people speaking of Jac years from now will think of him the same way, even without any big event to his name his stalwart leadership has given the Dark Brotherhood a time of peace that will be long remembered. He’ll be much more than just a passing mention in the DSC that’s for sure. <br><br>

Dark Side Adept Anshar Kahn Tarentae of the Dark Council (HM): <br>I think that a Silver Sash would be something that Jac is long overdue for. Speaking just from my experience in working alongside him, Jac more than deserves this award. For me, helping new members has always been a top priority; from my days as a Tetrarch, Aedile, and Quaestor, to Proconsul and Consul, EP, and, most recently, the Knight Commander of the Brotherhood, I've tried my hardest to work with and for new members. My greatest opportunity came as Knight Commander of the Brotherhood, when I could impact each and every clan. Jac's support and assistance was vital to this venture. Jac could have easily taken a back seat to the issue, he could have left Envoy stuff up to myself and/or Spears, but he instead chose to take a very active role in the Envoys. Everything from Envoy policy to reviewing reports fell under Jac's purview. Though largely left to my own devices in the day to day runnings of the Envoys, Jac was a constant presence. Without his assistance, the Envoys could have faced a more difficult time in getting to where they are today. Jac was and is just as much a part of the success of the Envoys as each Envoy, myself, and Spears.
<br> As I said before, a Silver Sash is something that Jac is long overdue for. <br>~Anshar <br><br>

Krath Pontifex Muz Keibatsu Sadow of the Dark Council (HRLD): <br>Jac Cotelin has been a guiding force in the Brotherhood for many years now, his foresight and strength helping us through one of the most tumultuous times in our History. As one of the seven who signed the greivance against the Hammer, as trusted advisor to Firefox, and as a returning Grand Master, Cotelin's presence has been felt throughout the club, his vision resonating down to the lowest Apprentice. But all this we knew already, so I will discuss some of the things not everyone can know from just reading the Codex. I have been priviledged enough to work with Cotelin on several projects. His sense of organization has helped me tremendously, his subtle urgings and well-placed critiques help to mold the project down aisles that had not occurred to me, yet increase the potence of the result. And even rarer in a supervisor, he places trust in those who have proven themselves. Jac has learned where his expertise is, and where his limits are, and that is admirable in any man. His ability to let go, and the wisdom to know when those times are, is a valuable strength indeed. And with such an approachable, friendly demeanor and conversational tone, he is able to discuss, willing to hear any ideas about any project, free from elitism and the hubris that can slow progress.
<br><br> It is without pause that I am honoured to reccomend Jac Cotelin for the Silver Sash. His relentless work to make the club an outstanding place, and to better the individual members, more than warrants such a reward. ~ Muz Keibatsu Sadow (Krath)/HRLD/Dark Council

<br><br> Dark Jedi Master Kaiann Yetaru Entar of the Dark Council (LH): <br>What is being proposed with this medal is not just a Silver Sash – a very high medal in and of itself - but the first time that any member in the Brotherhood is getting a complete set of all ten merit medals. What does a member have to do to get to this point ? Be good ? Be great ? Be awesome ? Yeah, awesome would probably be a good start. But it's not enough. Legendary cuts it. <br><br> To look back at the day Jac got his last major medal - December 2004. And that was an AK for specific coding work - hardly an indicator of the work he's done before. So, further back, we hit a Diamond Sword dating from August 19, 2003. <br><br> What we are honoring today is thus nothing less than thirty-two months of visionary, tireless, wise and inspired leadership work. Compare the Brotherhood as it was just after the turmoil of the split - August 2003 was hardly an organized state - to that of April 2006. There is not much that is in common except our desire to have fun and be a damn fine online Star Wars fan club. I could mention the dozens of projects that fell in Jac's reign, but I'll concentrate on the one that many see as his greatest failure: Project Rebirth. <br><br> When Rebirth is mentioned in the Brotherhood today, the word is spoken with a lot of cynicism and it has become synonymous with "Something that will never happen" or "The DB that never was". There could not be a notion more wrong. Rebirth was a proposal composed of about a dozen subprojects. One of them was what is publicly associated with the name: The coding of a spiffy website. Seen realistically, that was neither the most important part of Rebirth nor one Jac failed at. The coding failed because it was beyond the DB's resources and because of disagreements about coding style. So just forget about it and look at the rest of Rebirth: It's either fully implemented and proven - or it's ready on paper and hanging in the now slowly shrinking backlog of features to be added to the site. And this backlog is shrinking because Jac has not only shown the leadership that got us an efficient coding team again but also because he has himself spent time on top of the numerous GM duties to code and fix features the site needs. <br><br> So in honor and celebration of the successful implementation of the most ambitious endeavor the Brotherhood has ever undertaken, I herewith wholeheartedly approve and recommend that Grand Master Jac Cotelin be the newest recipient of a Silver Sash and the rightful first holder of a complete set of merit medals. <br><br> Signed and made this April 12, 2006 <br>For the office of the Lord Hegemon, <br>Dark Jedi Master Kaiann Yetaru Entar <br><br> Dark Side Adept Dalthid of the Dark Council (CM): <br>I definitely feel that Jac deserves the Silver Sash, but not because he wants to get all the awards for his dossier :P If there was anything higher than GM, I’d rather see that – but I don’t think “God” would make a good CS, LOL. <br><br> At any rate… <br><br> I did my time as BT, AED, PCON and the like with very little contact with anyone higher than an order leader. It was a bit odd becoming CM and having to deal with the DGM and GM directly, especially when there wasn’t much history of my interaction with them. Needless to say, I was pleasantly surprised. Jac is approachable – which one might not expect from a GM – and I think that is his most endearing quality, especially in a club of this nature. I cannot vouch for anyone else beside myself, but he makes me confident in the things I do with his support. Success or failure, he’s been there for my venting, concerns and even to step into squabbles that I was prone to igniting – his mentoring being the key to quelling that as well. He is probably the most honest of the people I have to deal with in that he doesn’t write to read his own words. If he generally has no opinion, he doesn’t waste my time or ‘invent’ an opinion with matters that concern the Centre. This is important because, when he does write something or takes the time to share his thoughts, I know they’re important and should be heeded. Many things in the current structure of the ACC are due to one or two simple, short and un-detailed comments from this Grand Master – a testament to the impact he has had on me which I’m sure translates to the entirety of the club. He has a vision, though sometimes hard to put into words, that will easily bring a prosperity that I am sure no one expected – all because of ‘how’ he is with people. I don’t have the tenure to say whether or not he’s the best GM, but I can say that he’s been the best ‘counselor’ that I have had in my time here. By the very concept of the Silver Sash Jac has painted himself as the epitome, via one key element: “Any Dark Council member who has used their position to help growth and function of the Brotherhood…”. There are many facets of the DB, that might not have even been approached, had it not been for Jac Cotelin. It’s not because he has all the ideas, all the insight or all of the skills – but because he’s willing to listen, to consider, to let the members of this club have an honest hand it directing its course. Very few here ever heed anything from a Journeyman, let alone their own peers, but Jac evades that entirely. He welcomes inputs from the newest APP to the eldest Council member – without placating them or blowing them off. I whole heartedly support any action that recognizes our leader for his ability, dedication and genuine ‘love’ for the club and its members. <br><br> From the Lesser Clans of the Dark Brotherhood <br><br> Dark Prophet Kaine Mandaala of the Rogue Jedi: <br>How does one reward someone who is so valuable? How do you express your appreciation for their efforts? The awards available are wholly inadequate for what we see in the man who helps keep us focused, who devotes enough time and energy into everything he puts his hands on, and who make a point to discuss concerns, complaints and criticisms with anyone - personally. In all my time in the DJB I have not seen such constant devotion from any member. It was his unique value that inspired a unique award - though it was abandoned. I am pleased with a Silver Sash but I feel I will never be able to give him enough to thank him for everything. - Kaine Mandaala <br><br> Dark Jedi Master Acxodim “DV” Pyralis of Clan Taldryan: <br>Over the years, I have had the honor of serving with several of the Grand Masters of the Dark Brotherhood including oldies like Havok and Paladin and more familiar names like Firefox and Jac. I have learned that each GM brings a special character and vision to the Dark Council. Jac Cotelin’s vision, however, is an especially strong one. Most everything that has changed within the Brotherhood in the last 2 years (and will continue to change through our current initiatives) would not have been possible without his rock-solid, successful leadership as Deputy Grand Master and later during his second tenure as Grand Master. <br><br> Today, the Dark Brotherhood enjoys a level of prosperity unseen throughout its entire 10-year history. We thrive today at the expense of no one. We progress without compromising morality or individuality. Today, we revel in our liberated, open-minded Brotherhood. We prophesy a future of continued success through the indescribable achievements one such Dark Lord of the Sith, who is quite frankly unlike any other. Honestly, if there was a rank above Grand Master, Jac has earned it. He is a dominating figure in all of the progressive change in the Dark Brotherhood. Jac Cotelin is untouchable – none can claim to have achieved as much as he has. Just look at Mr. Calendar: http://www.darkjedibrotherhood.com/calendar/calendar.php?mode=cat&cat_id=5. This body of evidence alone could end my recommendation. However, there is more behind the alias Jac Ae-Sequiera Cotelin Taldrya-Cantor. <br><br> Some would argue that the Dark Side itself divinely appointed this man of singular vision and strength, unwavering in his resolve, unflinching in his pursuit for perfection, and relentless in his endeavor to achieve something which has never before been achieved within our organization – a complete rebirth of principles, dedication, and vision. <br><br> He is not new to the stage of the Dark Council. In fact, he was a Grand Master of this very club over 8 and a half years ago, overseeing the construction of the first clans of the Brotherhood. Nor is Jac "new" to the stage of leadership or out of touch with its membership. Jac has been serving in an active capacity as a Grand Master Emeritus for over 5 years, extending back to Clan Taldryan, advancing to Emissary, ultimately helping to lead the Exodus as His Eminence, Lord Firefox's right hand. However, what he has achieved up until that point is really quite insignificant compared to what Jac has accomplished as Firefox's Deputy and later in ascending to his second term on the Iron Throne. <br><br> Jac has a powerful vision for our club. Sometimes it is so powerful and well-focused that his prescience can often elude me. When I can’t understand his destination, I find myself placing faith in this vision. So far, I haven't been led astray. The Brotherhood has not been led astray. While Paladin might be a father of infrastructure or Khyron a leader of stability, Jac will be remembered as a visionary planner who dived head first into innumerable projects and led them with his guiding hands to completion. <br><br> Instead of making an all-inclusive list of everything Jac has had a hand in since the Exodus, I will boldly state instead that if you've heard of any "project" name lately, it is the result of Jac commissioning that project. The Covenant and its decree system? Jac. Handbooks and Alacrity? Jac. Amalgamation? Jac. New projects, new ideas. They are laying infrastructure for a future Dark Brotherhood in which we will partake. They will provide for the future leaders and members of this club – those Journeymen and those Initiates who have not yet entered the doors of our organization, holding the keys to stability within as they unlock our treasure of resources. <br><br> On top of the endless projects which fill the calendar, Jac maintains an semi-regularly active IRC presence, communicating with new and old members alike, acting as an audience for many countless journeymen, equites, and elders. He maintains a vigil over all DB e-mail lists. He replies to all of our e-mails. He recognizes our leaders who provide for our clans. He maintains the most active dialogue between consuls and Dark Councilors seen in the history of the Brotherhood. He codes the very websites we use on a daily basis and helps to create more dynamic and interactive ones for our future. <br><br> Beyond this administrative nightmare, Jac is a friend to many. Jac goes to law-school. Jac has a wife. Jac has magical internet friends. It is a wonder and a beauty that our Grand Master has survived to see our organization evolve over time and help it do even more. <br><br> Jac defines the highest standards for consistency within our club. So many great leaders have risen and fallen in the last three years of the Dark Brotherhood’s existence. However, one leader in particular has never faltered. Today, Jac has a voracious appetite for answering e-mail just like he did after the Exodus. He attacks projects with a relentless determination. This has never changed. It is a wonder how he can continue to go on like he does without faltering. Jac Cotelin is the most steadfast pillar in the history of the Dark Brotherhood and stands today as its most successful and dedicated Grand Master in its history. <br><br> Recognize Darth Jac Cotelin as a Grand Master of the Brotherhood, a man of limitless talents, a prophet of destiny, and a friend who is always there. Wear this Sash with pride, it’s the last merit award you might ever get. :-P Thanks Jim. — Q <br><br> Dark Jedi Master Alanna Taldrya of Clan Taldryan: <br>Having worked with Jac throughout my time as KHP, I can genuinely say that I couldn’t imagine working for any other GM. He was supportive when I wanted to try something new and understanding when my workload got too large to take on extra projects. He managed to stay calm throughout any number of squabbles (other people, not me! >:P), and he was always available to talk, on irc or e-mail. The latter is quite amazing for someone in charge of such a large organization, but I think is testament to his whole attitude to the DB – he really cares about its members... and it’s this quality that makes him such an effective and such an approachable GM. <br><br> Thank you for all the hard work you’ve put into the Brotherhood, Jac. It really wouldn’t be the same without you. Long may your reign continue! <br><br> Dark Jedi Master Arania Lawakiro Palpatine of Clan Scholae Palatinae: <br>Jac? Oh that Jac. What is he even doing? He's away most of the time, no? Well, what is away for someone like Jac..? Not present on IRC 24/7? <br><br> I know some people may be tired of hearing it, but the numerous invisible and semi-visible work Jac has done on the domain alone is something that's hardly equalled by anyone else. When projects got stuck with coding, when there is a problem with the site, it's inevitably Jac who jumps in to do it. <br><br> Which leads me to look at Rebirth, which was far from the failure some think it was. Actually, plenty of it got done, other stuff is still worked on and now divided in smaller projects. But from all the things that got done, very few would have evolved without Jac's constant guidcance. In fact, he is Rebirth, in a sense. The Brotherhood is where it is largely because of him, and while lots of people were part of each success, he was the man at the helm steering through plenty a storm, and he keeps doing it despite the problems both created by members and circumstances. I can't think of many people who would have managed to stay with his position for such a long time, against all odds. <br><br> If Jac is not worthy of a Silver Sash, then I don't know anybody who is. <br><br> Dark Jedi Master Aristan "Sarin" Dantes of Clan Plagueis <br>I would like to recommend Grand Master Jac Cotelin for the Silver Sash. The Silver Sash is awarded to any Dark Council member who has helped the growth of the Dark Brotherhood by aiding the members. If there is any one person who deserves this award, it is certainly Grand Master Cotelin. <br><br> Jac's ability to conduct hundreds of projects, read over every report, read every usergroup, and stay up to date on almost all concerns in the Brotherhood is an accomplishment that I have never witnessed in a leader. His personal skills and sound judgement in addition to his ridiculous amount of project accomplishments make him a Grand Master without peer. <br><br> I have gotten to know Jac over the past 7 months and in that time I have found him to be one of the best leaders the Brotherhood has ever known. His website improvements, steamlining of the Dark Council, and management of the Dark Brotherhood have all been great successes.
<br><br> With the upcoming celebration of Exodus, it is only fitting that one of the originators of our "Rebirth" is awarded this long overdue appreciation from the Dark Brotherhood. <br><br> Congratulations Jac! <br><br> Dark Jedi Master Mejas Doto of the Rogue Jedi: <br>In the Shadow realm I felt a stir. The ebb and flow of all that was darkness and light combined and clashed, tore and screamed; the anguish and despair of millions of our enemies could be felt throughout the chaos of my corporeal existance. Some great moment was soon to be enacted by our Brotherhood. All could feel it, yet few knew what would happen. I have emerged to provide my support to this great event. <br><br> Our Brotherhood has surpassed anything Grand Master Kane Vader could ever have imagined and while this was down to the work of our Brotherhood, one Brother stands above us all. He resides on our Iron Throne in Antei, he has lead us twice, each tenure resulting in greater and greater strength, stability and power. His name is Jac Cotelin, Grand Master of the Dark Brotherhood, Lord of the Star Chamber. <br><br> As an unruly Dark Jedi Knight of Naga Sadow, Master Trevarus Caerick contacted the Clan's in the hope of arranging a transfer for the tumultuous Mejas Doto. Most Clan's refused the proposal and informed our current Oracle that he should simply "dispose" of me. Whether Caerick's farseeing had evolved at such an early stage was not known, but he knew that the Zabrak had potential. He contacted Telaris Mav Cantor, Consul of Taldryan at the time, and Mav agreed to accept the transfer to Ektrosis, on the condition that any further "antics" would result in execution. Trevarus could do nothing but accept. Within weeks I had emerged as one of Taldryan's most dedicated Clansmen, but I was becoming restless and stirs of insubordination were manifesting in erratic behaviours. The newly appointed Proconsul stepped in, Big Poppa Jac, Grand Master Emeritus. Jac showed me how to focus my energies, he provided me with everything I needed to progress. Jac calmed the darkest energies residing in my being. Jac was a teacher, a master and above all a great, great friend. With Jac's teachings I moved on, I lead many House's and Clan's, eventually ascending to the Dak Council. All of this was possible through the wisdom and guidance of Lord Cotelin. Still erratic, still unstable and still driven and blinded by power, Mejas Doto has evolved into an Elder of great power, but there are many who know he would never ascended above Krath Priest if it hadn't been for our greatest of leaders, the members leader. A Grand Master who openly communicates and lives and bleeds with his Brethren. Grand Master Jac Cotelin, although I am far from your Throne right now, you know that my sabre is always yours. Long may your reign continue my friend, long may the Brotherhood grow and evolve and long may the Emperor's Hammer sit in our shadow, where I will watch for you and laugh infinitely at their failings and ugly assed Fleet Commander!!! <br><br> Embrace the Darkness, <br>Dark Jedi Master Mejas Doto, di Tenebrous Arconae <br><br> Dark Side Adept Bluefire of the Rogue Jedi <br>Yes…Jac is that way...always has been since I’ve known him. (like since 1996). He doesn’t break his arm patting himself on the back. <br><br> Dark Side Adept Compton of the Rogue Jedi <br>Jac's the MFing Man, a true son of a Sith. And yeah, I agree - Jac would probably prefer a Silver Sash more than anything, especially if it's the only award he doesn't already have. Us old-schoolers tend to treat the old-school awards like a collection - got to earn them all. <br><br> Dark Side Adept Cyris Oscura of the Rogue Jedi <br>There is much to say and much to praise about Jac. Ever since the first day that we started to work together, almost two years ago now, when I was elected Combat Master, I have come to know this man for a devoted, kind and unbreakable person. <br><br> Devoted, for he strives every day to build a Brotherhood better and greater than ever before, most nights of IRC presence spent coordinating dozens of members to their tasks and interacting with another dozen of members who need help or may have one problem or another. <br><br> Kind, for he is never too busy to stop and greet a friend or comrade, never too busy to help them should they need it. When he is present, he is always there to listen and give some guidance or a few "LOLs". <br><br> Unbreakable, for it takes much to shake this man. I know it for one, as aggressive and frustrated as I have been at some stages of my DB career, he never snapped back without cause, rather, he always worked to actually cool me down. It would take a horde of buffaloes to truly break this man. And even then... <br><br> The good news is that together, we all get to enjoy the fruit of this guy's devotion. Rebirth is on our door step, whereas two years ago, it was a faint glimmer in the distance, a faint hope. Much good is to come, and the Dark Brotherhood of the Jedi is indeed a much greater place than it has ever been before. Thanks to the visions of this one guy. <br><br> Long live Jac! <br><br> Dark Side Adept Halcyon Rokir Arconae of Clan Arcona <br>In all honesty, Jac’s record as GM and even DGM prior to that does speak for itself. Has everything gone according to plan? No. Has there been actual change and forward progression? That would be a resounding “yes”. There is no question about that, and for that alone he’s deserving of whatever accolades are given. <br><br> However, personally, there is a specific area in which I actually say to myself “how does he do it?” The higher you get in terms of positions, the biggest problem is normally dealing with the various personalities that you command. I had problems with that myself, and was a primary reason for taking some time away from command positions, as the general stress was just not what I had wanted in a “fun” online club. However, Jac has to deal with basically everyone in the Dark Brotherhood, and I know he’s had to deal with “problems” and personalities far worse than I came across. He not only manages that, but also gets real work done and hasn’t gone completely mad and just told the rest of us to just shove it and left. In truth, I wouldn’t be surprised and wouldn’t begrudge him if he ever wanted to do that. As such, I tip my hat to him, since being able to do that job, for this long and well, needs to be thanked. <br><br> Keep it up Jac. <br><br> --<br> Dark Side Adept Halcyon Rokir Arconae <br>Consul of Arcona<br> Deputy Combat Master <br><br> Dark Side Adept Kir Taldrya Katarn of Clan Taldryan <br>We often hear about people who go above-and-beyond to help others in daily life. Generally these Samaritan-esque characters sacrifice their time and occasionally happiness for the betterment of others. While I don't want to suggest that Jac spends his nights chained to a computer as his life slowly decomposes (or maybe I do?), I definitely think he belongs in a story of his own.
<br><br> Despite having an intensely busy life, Jac still makes more than enough time to be the best Grand Master this club has seen in quite some time. His personable attitude helps him bridge even the tensest situations, and he quickly befriends most everyone he encounters. He uses his experience to streamline his position and to put his Council to the best use possible. Jac is always open to suggestions from just about everyone, and this open-mind policy has led to many of the great changes we've seen in the past two years. He is relentless in his pursuit of success, and in that he succeeds more often than not. <br><br> I count Jac among the best of the friends I have made in the Brotherhood, and I'm both proud of his work and grateful for all his effort. Without him the Brotherhood would be nowhere near the position it is in today, and he deserves far more than any of us can give. Congratulations on your award Jac, and know that all of us appreciate what you do on a daily basis more than you can imagine. <br><br> ~Kir Taldrya Katarn~ <br><br> Dark Side Adept Korras of Clan Naga Sadow <br>Ever since Jac took over GM again, he has been doing all he can to move the DB forward. and he succeeded. people are motivated, and he gives his leaders free hand to do what they need to do, without wishing to micromanaging things, instead simply wishing to be informed of what happens. the DB will surely flourish further under his leadership. I do not have much words to put everything down, he simply is doing great. congrats, Jac. <br><br> Dark Side Adept Mike Halcyon of the Rogue Jedi Jac, you rule. Under your leadership, the Brotherhood has advanced and improved further than it has under any former Grand Master I remember. You put so much time and effort in this club, it's almost a full-time-job (And I bet for your wife, it is). <br><br> Continue leading the Brotherhood the way you do - you are doing everything right. <br><br> Dark Side Adept Spears Tarentae of Clan Tarentum <br>Jac's vision for the Brotherhood is a large reason why the Brotherhood is what it is today, and why we are what we are as a group. While it can be said that Jac's vision exceeds his grasp and that his goals are far to large, it has also been said that he puts to much into to small a time scale. This may well be true but it is the striving for great things that makes this club thrive. While he may not reach his lofty goals on time he keeps reaching for them until they are in his grasp. He puts a monumental effort into making this club better, and even when he falls short of his goals he ends up miles ahead of where others would have already given up. This alone would make him worthy of a great reward, but Jac doesn't stop at these markers he keeps running, he keeps pushing that finish line further and further and in doing so keeps each of us running with him to make the club a better place for everyone. While the waters may not be calm when Jac is at the rudder, most fail to mention that he is always at the con when the Brotherhood is in the middle of Storm and he makes sure that we not only see the calm waters ahead but that we make it there in better shape then we where when the Storm hit. The Brotherhood is forever indebted to Jac for his work and his vision, and may this be but a small token of our thanks and appreciation for all that he has done. <br><br> Dark Side Adept William Flechette Taldrya Cantor of Clan Taldryan: <br>Although I haven't been truly "active" in quite some time, I can testify first hand from a very unique position about Jac's dedication to the DB. I've worked with Jac in an office at Ohio State, been to his fraternity house...and I know he's spent loads of time on the DB. When he's AFK on IRC, it's often because he's focused on working on some portion of a project that needs his attention. But when his attention, or more often moderation, was needed somewhere, he was pretty easy to talk to, or to ask questions. The time and effort he's given to the DB is immense -- I know I could never match a dedication like that, and I know there are few others out there who are willing to do so. Unfortunately, due to my own inactivity, I can't testify as to any recent activities -- but I do know that Jac has given a ton to this "online" club/organization. <br>If you get it, then congrats Jim -- you deserve it. <br><br> Thanks,<br> DA William Flechette<br><br>

Krath Epis Nekura Manji Keibatsu of Clan Naga Sadow:<br> Why should Grand Master Jac Cotelin, his immortal majesty, the Dark Lord of the Sith, be awarded a Silver Sash? Simple- because Jac rocks. To clarify... <br><br> Ask any member of the Brotherhood what they think about Jac, and you'll probably receive the same answer- Jac's a cool guy. He's friendly, open, approachable- most newer members might be a bit too intimidated to email him since he's the Dark Lord of the Sith and all, but if they do they get the same feeling- he's willing to help anybody as far as he can, from Dark Adept to Apprentice. His reports are regular, informative, and leave me nodding my head in agreement once I've finished reading- it's a mark of how well he does his job that even when he takes a holiday, the Brotherhood continues to run smoothly onwards until he returns. <br><br> To say any more would just be to reiterate what's probably already been said by countless others- Jac is the man, and he more than deserves this award. ~Nekura Manji Keibatsu (Krath)/Marka Ragnos of Naga Sadow <br><br> Krath Archpriest Shin’ichi Endymiron Keibatsu of Clan Naga Sadow <br>What can I say about Jac that hasn’t been said a million times already? That he’s a capable leader? We all know this. He’s an intelligent man? Obviously. That he has genuine care for this body and its members? That’s evident in his everyday actions. So what can one say? How about that despite being in Law School, a very difficult endeavor I might add from personal experience, and despite being a newlywed, something else of a challenge that I can speak about, our Grand Master continues to dedicate himself to the Brotherhood and its betterment. He works countless hours ensuring that things run smoothly and that every single member from the highest of Masters to the lowest of apprentices enjoys their time here. I can say that I have never been prouder to serve under anyone than I am to serve under Jac. He is an inspiration to us all, and the very model of competent leadership and genuine friendship. Congratulations Jac this award is long overdue. ~KAP Shin’ichi Endymiron Keibatsu <br><br> Obelisk Prelate Duga Arkarso of Clan Taldryan: <br>I'm a newbie compared to Jac here and many folks in the Brotherhood. It seems like I still learn something new every week, another aspect of the club, how something was done before, what's been tried, what hasn't, you get the picture. The one thing I can tell you now that I knew after being a member for a few months was a guy named Jac and the person behind that name. <br><br> It's hard to know people on the internet in clubs like this sometimes, but there are things you can tell. You have those that are born to cause trouble, some that bitch about everything, the good, the bad, and the awesome. You have some that really care about what they are doing, not just for themselves, but to help others have a good time here. Jac is that kind of a person. <br><br> He's been in leadership spots all over the club for so many years now, from Consul, Lord Chamberlain, Emissary, up to Deputy Grand Master, and Grand Master. Everything he does is directly for the benefit of the members and the club we all enjoy. You can see his involvement all over the place.. massive work in the last Great Jedi War, working with others on Clan/Order Powers, DVs over the years, the Codex, Compendium, very important Covenant, many DC Structure changes with the most recent DC Amalgamation. In every change that takes place Jac has at least something to add. Then there are all the small things that add up to piles and piles of work that people don't realize are done. Just go look at the current Mr. Calendar, and the old Calendars before this one I'm sure has tons more. Don't forget the long-term project of Rebirth. Has it gone completely as planned out from the beginning? Not at all, but what on earth does? So much has been completed with work continuing, slowly but surely. <br><br> Unless I'm wrong, it's been more than fifteen months without any major reward for this continued selfless work. Going on that long, doing all that he has done, and without worrying about getting anything out of it, Jac truly deserves this. Over the last six moths I've come to interact more and more with him, only to see how much more he does. His attitude, his kindness, and friendship mean a lot. I'm honored to be able to add to the recommendations. I suck at writing them, but I had to throw something together for our beloved Jac. Congratulations on the Sash!!! Oh, p.s. you pwn. =) <br><br> Brad <br><br>

Sith Battlemaster Taku "Crix" Matsuki of Clan Taldryan: <br>In my six years in the Brotherhood I've seen some good Grand Masters, some pretty good Grand Masters and some amazing Grand Masters. Grand Master Jac Cotelin, without a doubt, falls into the last category; he is constantly using his office to help better the Brotherhood. Some examples of his work include the Dark Council Amalgamation and Project Rebirth. The Amalgamation took an unwieldy and fairly inefficient Dark Council and started the process of reworking it to be an efficient leadership body. It reassigned specific duties to better match them with the Counselor who's office should have been taking care of them. Project Rebirth, while it is being implemented piece by piece, has already made significant changes in the structure of the Brotherhood and promises to make even more. <br><br> Although Jac keeps himself busy with large-scale projects that concern the entire Brotherhood he still has time to deal with individual member's concerns. About a month ago I got an email from one of the members of Ektrosis, the house where I am the Aedile, expressing concern over Dalthid's judgment in an ACC match. I forwarded the email to Jac with a note asking if he could help me and he replied very quickly saying that he would talk to Dalthid and have him explain the decision more clearly to my member. <br><br> Jac is a great man and someone who I am very glad to call both my Grand Master and my friend. <br><br> Battlemaster Taku "Crix" Matsuki, Aedile of House Ektrosis of Taldryan <br><br>

Sith Battlemaster Maar-Tyrius Bruth'Kothae Ga-Tir of Clan Arcona: <br>Jac has taken several amounts of time to help me understand the inner workings of this club, even going as far as to proof several documents, and posts for me since my lack of proper grammar. I have spent several hours with him discussing the gaming nights, and where I wanted to see it head to. He has always been a outstanding role model for myself and others and has answered all my questions when I asked them. If I struggled with a certain factor in the Db he was there to help out. <br><br> I know I haven't personally had to deal with Jac along time, but in the short amount I have he has been a major asset to this club, and to myself as well. <br><br> When I offered to help with the gaming server (BF2) he was really appreciated all my efforts both with funding and helping out in anyway possible. <br><br> He’s one of those people that you know when you discuss things with that he actually listens and tries to make sense of everything. <br><br> Smoke <br><br> Dark Jedi Knight Kromtal Stormfyld of Clan Plagueis: <br>I would like to make a recommendation that the Silver Sash be awarded to Grand Master Jac Cotelin. In the few months I've been here I've seen him work tirelessly for the betterment of the Brotherhood, even at the expense of his own real life at times. Jac has a passion inside him that burns hotter than any fire and he channels this passion into the Brotherhood. <br><br> I know that even before I joined the club I kept a watch on things, and I know that this club is what it is today in large part due to the direct actions of Jac Cotelin. His drive and dedication are an inspiration to us all, and motivates us to work even harder to be a part of this grand vision that he has for the Brotherhood. <br><br> In my time here Jac has served as both a friend and mentor to me, he's accepted me and others in my same situation with open arms and proven that he is a man of the highest character in doing so. I firmly believe that Jac deserves this award, and sincerely hope it is given to him. <br><br> Dark Jedi Knight Ylith Romanae of Clan Arcona: <br>To me, Jac has always been a great help, a great mentor and a great role model. But what does one do to deserve such an award? What does one do to even be considered for something so precious? Let me answer that to you with the simplest of answers, dedication. Our Grand Master has shown dedication to the club, dedication in rule, in justice, in fairness and in fun. We all seem to forget sometimes what a great man he is. What efforts he pays every day to keep us all happy and enjoying this beloved club. We owe it all to this man, this man who, not only runs the whole brotherhood, but even takes the time to talk to the lowest without even blinking an eye in doubt. No, this man is not one to be cast away so easily. People who complain about Jac, do not be angry at them, do not hate them, they have merely forgotten and stopped realizing what a great person he really is and what he does for us. Jac, you were a friend when I needed one, you never doubted my loyalty to the Brotherhood nor have you ever questioned my morale. And now my friend, it is an honor to write this to you. I do not write this because I am a Quaestor, a member of the brotherhood or I want to suck up. I write this because I am a friend. A friend who thinks you are more deserving of this award than any other in the brotherhood. <br> Jac, my Grand Master, my Dark Side brother. Be well and for the sake of heavens never, ever change your morale. <br><br> Written in Darkness, Signed with Blood, <br>Ylith Valheru Vasarius Romanae <br><br> Jedi Hunter Levathan Bruth'Kothae of Clan Tarentum: <br>Jac has done one hellava job at GM, the amount of work, persistence and strangth he's shown is extreamly high. there are a few people who really stand out, jac is one of them. and thats not becose he's GM. Jac is more then deserveing of the silver sash. <br><br> Guardian Ood Bnar of Clan Scholae Palatinae: <br>I, Guardian Ood Bnar, have seen much positive things change in the DJB and i've come to the conclusion that one man needs to be thanked for his part in spearheading all these changes. I hereby recommend our GM Jac Cotelin for a Silver Sash. i believe our great leader has earned this award through all the work and effort he has put into the DJB over the years.

The position of Order Leader is one of the most difficult within the Brotherhood. It is one that involves more initiative than almost any other position in the DB. The members that hold those positions never really have a specific set of duties that they are outlined to do. Sure, they have some, but most of their activities and work comes from a desire to further the Order, not to get simple jobs done. The Order Leaders are forced to think outside of the box, create new and exciting competitions, develop fiction that both corresponds with canon material and gives a fresh edge to their order. Further, they have to work with the most people outside of GM and DGM. The Order Leaders are charges with making sure the clans have good activities for their order's members, they track and approve of promotions, and they work actively with all of the Dark Council members on things that relate to their order. It is a truly diverse job that often doesn't offer a lot of guidance.

The Brotherhood now is especially blessed to have three truly amazing Order Leaders.

Bloodfyre as the longest serving of the Order Leaders is the one with the least recognition. Truly, I have done him an injustice by not rewarding his work and efforts more often. There are things that I have thanked him for, and I think he knows we appreciate that are simply not shown on his dossier, and that is something I hope to correct today. Bloodfyre was the person that single handedly brought about the current tournament system. He devised the point scales, he made the item lists and he got the program off the ground in an effort to diversify the gaming activity of the DB. Really, one could say that Bloodfyre kicked the gaming areas of the DB into gear with that. Beyond this, he has been one of the lead voices as a proponent of Allegiance. He has helped bring the game to life twice now -- something that is very much a credit to him. Most recently, I have seen contributions from BF in the way of his SHW handbook, the Sith History, the new Sith CORE and plans for the Advanced CORE in the SA, and plans for his Order's powers. These are all things that are essential to the growth of the Sith Order, and I am quite pleased to see progress in that area.

Most importantly, though, Bloodfyre is an instrument behind the scenes of almost everything in the DB. He never withholds a comment, never fails to read a document, never has a moment where he isn't spitting out an idea. He has a goal in mind of what he feels the DB can and should be and BF isn't going to rest until it's done. It's an admirable quality that I believe all members should have. And beyond that, Bloodfyre is a damn good friend to all.

So Bloodfyre, in recognition of all you do, I hereby bestow upon you the Silver Sash. Congratulations, my friend.

In the April 2005 issue of the Dark Voice, Alanna was honored for her continued service as Krath High Priestess. Alanna had just recently stepped down from the position after serving there for years. The club was devastated by the loss of her leadership; alanna has always been a careful yet decisive, kind yet envigorating, fun yet dutiful leader. She is a person that has helped make this club great, and all we can do is say thank you with this Silver Sash. Alanna has been added to the Hall of immortals for her work in the club. She is dearly missed on the DC. - Jac

The following is the text of the article honoring Alanna:

"ANTEI: The Dark Council, Clan Summits and distinguished Brotherhood members were summoned yesterday to the edge of the Shadowlands. There, south of the Dark Hall, is located the magnificent structure that was built to honor the heroes and legends of the Brotherhood. Called the Hall of Immortals, the structure holds within a tribute to the greatest of Dark Jedi. Fortunately, the Dark Voice Staff was able to obtain leave to attend the event that Lord Cotelin presided over.

"It was truly a great honor to be in attendance. She really deserves it," commented Satal Keto Consul, Selket." Alanna has been arguably the greatest leader of the Krath Order in the history of the Brotherhood, save Tiamat herself. It was an honor to serve in her time."

The event that Selket referred to was the induction of Dark Jedi Master Alanna into the Hall of Immortals. The decision to induct Alanna was made long ago, according to Dark Council sources who wish to remain unnamed. Lord Cotelin is rumored to have had the Hall of Immortals closed for the new addition during the recent Krath War. He contracted with Headmaster Spears Tarentae to have a new statue built specifically for the former Krath High Priestess. Spears supposedly had the statue carved with a more feminine figure than the previous version.

During the ceremony, Lord Cotelin spoke of the different deeds associated with Alanna since she had been a member. He emphasized more the nature of her personality and the great attributes that she brought with her to every challenge. "Of the greatest virtues, Lady Alanna has them all. Bold yet receptive, unwavering yet understanding, kind yet true to herself. Our Lady has shown herself to be the greatest in all that she has done. She has shown us that although we ourselves do not always see eye to eye, that does not prevent us from helping one another." Lord Cotelin spoke for some twenty minutes about the induction.

"From a personal note, I have known Alanna since the beginning of my days in Taldryan. Just as she has done with everything she has encountered, Lady Alanna has left her mark on me. I am better just for having known her and worked with her. There is not a single person that I can think of that deserves our recognition more than her. She has fought hard for all of us. An so, from all of us, we today mark her as one of the few immortals. She enters here a hall that honors only the greatest. Lady Alanna, thank you for all that you have done and will continue to do."

To mark the occasion and the culmination of her works, Lord Cotelin also bestowed upon the former High Priestess a Silver Sash.

The Dark Voice Staff would like to recognize Lady Alanna for all that she has done. We have included the following history of the Lady as a tribute to her career in the Brotherhood:

Alanna joined the DB in 1999. Recruited to the Independent House Ektrosis by Jarla, she became QUA of Ektrosis when it clanned into Taldryan. Leading Ektrosis to victory through a GJW and a feud, she only stepped down from the position of leadership in 2001 when real-life final exams claimed her time.

Ektrosis underwent a succession of QUAs, and Alanna was eventually asked back into the role to see the house safely through another GJW. Her intention was to step down after the competition, but then the split came upon the Brotherhood, and Alanna led Ektrosis to join the newly forming DB.

Shortly after the split, Tronsta stepped down as KHP and offered the position to Alanna. Initially hesitant, she took over the role in April 2003, and quickly realized that she had found her niche. The early days of her reign were characterized by a feeling of stability as she sought to continue with the traditional KMT competitions and activities that were familiar to the Krath, despite the relative chaos of the newly formed DB. As the Krath grew in strength and confidence, the office of the KHP began to introduce more variety and some new types of activity for the order – an in-character murder mystery, character development competitions, epic fiction competitions, an MML, and finally a Krath RoS. During this period, she was also invited to serve the Brotherhood in the position of the Right Hand of Justice.

Having spent an enjoyable two years in the role of KHP and having seen the Krath order flourish, Alanna decided to step down in April 2005, leaving the office of the KHP in Telona's capable hands. Returning to Ektrosis for a well deserved rest, she is looking forward to assisting her house in upcoming competitions once more. "

The Two Greatest DB Members

My title of this spot is as serious as I can get. I feel strongly about this statement:

Cyberguy and Jam3z are the two greatest DB members today.

I don't think I have to say anything more, but I will. CG and Jam3z have, for years now, toiled away during their free time, worked with me through thick and thin, pushed on and pushed on for the good of the DB. Now for those of you who have built websites as complex as what the DB site is, and what the DB site will be, you know that to do what CG and Jam3z are doing is not easy. There's a reason why programmers make lots of money. The time is valuable and the work is hard.

I feel like I don't get to praise these two enough, to thank them enough. I always send my emails thanking them for their assistance. I always tell them that they are awesome when they show me something new, but I have waited too long to reward them publicly once again. Their commitment to the DB deserves it.

To CG: I don't know where the Brotherhood would be today without your service. For a long, long time you have dealt with the website, helped to build a new one, and been gracious in dealing with the crap that comes from the members. I know what it's like to have to make adjustments because a person requests something and then changes the requirements. I know what it's like to have a boss that wants his hands in on a lot. It's not fun sometimes and it can be frustrating. The fact that you have stuck with us through the thick and the thin, dedicated your time to the betterment of our club, and sacrificed so much to make this place great shows that you are truly deserving of each praise that I can hand down to you. So, CG, for your continued service, above and beyond the call of duty, to the Brotherhood, I hereby award you a Silver Sash. Wear it with pride, knowing that you are one of the few that do.

To Jam3z: I can't imagine not having you to consult every time that I need something. Your ability to solve problems, to get things done quickly and to be understanding of those that request things of you is uncanny. Throughout the time that we have worked together you have always been patient and helpful. Your innovations are the best, your ideas are superb, and the DB is going to benefit greatly from the vision you have for the new website. And on top of it all, you have served as Consul through a lot of it, leading Arcona through a majority of the GJW and leading it to third place. I am truly amazed at your abilities, Jam3z, and I hope that you will always continue to use them for the good of this club. You are truly one of the greatest. For your continued service, and never-ending loyalty, I hereby elevate you to the rank of Dark Adept

Congratulations to you both....and thanks, so much. ~ GM Jac Cotelin
