Adept Strategos Thanatos Entar Arconae has reached the required 11533 Medal XP to earn their first Amethyst Kukri!

I honestly don’t know too much about Strat, as he was before my time in Arcona. However, that hardly means that he is forgotten, and I have more than once been told one story or another involving this old hat of the Shadow Clan. So while this backlog of XP might have generated the notification, I hope that you see it, Strat, as a reminder that we are still here and appreciative of what you did and what you do.

Over the past five months, Other Mav has organized or co-organized 16 competitions, including the Pro Bowl, and participated in 59 picking up an impressive 46 crescents. He's also earned 238 CFs, 23 CEs, 11 CIs, and 25 CGs. Kamjin is a constant presence on Discord, both in his clan chat and in the wider DB, and his availability and demeanor have helped CSP grow in size and activity. This award is well deserved!

Lord Dacien Victae, 2023-01-13 22:49:48 UTC
Additional reasons

Other Mav continues to be a steadfast presence in the Chamber of Justice. He is quick to offer up alternative perspectives while also keeping a watchful eye on the variety of Discord chats for any, well...discord. This has been helpful because he runs different hours than I do, allowing the Chamber more coverage in putting out fires before the sparks get out of hand. While the later part of his term has been quiet from an "active cases" perspective, he has still offered up his opinions on how we might be able to take proactive measures to continue to make our jobs quiet. That all said, I just really appreciate the reliability Kamjin has brought to his role and will miss it when it's gone.

Atra, 2023-01-10 19:19:53 UTC

Kamjin has been an incredibly steady leader and one who always steps up to support his Clan and the community. He drives an incredible fictional story to support the experience, encourages and fosters accomplishment among his team, provides great opportunities and events to participate in and is a great pillar of foundational support in the CSP community. Congratulations on your award.

Rajhin has been a busy tiger. Since April, he has updated the Rites of Combat, run successful vendetta gaming competitions, and updated our policy on unofficial DJB guilds in games. Beyond that, he has made it a point to be available for gaming with members on a regular basis and has ensured a steady stream of fun competitions catering to different interests. He has also been an eager contributor to DC discussions on topics beyond gaming, such as the upcoming XP system.

By the numbers: 23 competitions organized or co-organized; participated in 76 competitions and earned over 20 crescents; 594 CFs, 560 CEs, 10 CIs, and 9 CGs.

Congrats, Turel!

Additional reasons

While on my staff, Turel brought real world experience and an old hat at member advocation to bear. To say this was appreciated would be an understatement. There's a level of steady handedness that comes with it that helps calm everyone involved in a situation. Can't get enough of that. In fact, it is his presence that is his greatest quality and one I could keep droning on and on about. But that's not what I want to highlight. No, the best thing about Turel is that he never turns his brain off. Even when simply reviewing the Covenant while eyeballing a potential case, Turel felt an itch. The itch of "something's not right here". For Turel, that was the swath of gendered pronouns throughout our documents. Quite a simple little thought, but a much more expansive one when you realize just how often (in the hundreds) we reference gender in the Covenant. Having identified the problem, he pushed for the solution, and an amendment was put in. It goes without saying that the proposal was smooth sailing.

That's lasting change. The kind of influence Turel has on the systems around him. I think that's pretty well deserving of recognition.

Turel took over as Pcon of Odan-Urr at a time many things began to change. His experience and hard work helped build the Clan into what it is today. All while maintaining a constant presence and keeping the membership informed and engaged on all things happening. These changes included creating and implementing our two currently running Houses, the Consular Conclave and the Guardian Corps. From this, he contributed significantly to making a new Clan villain who took form in the Illuminance storyline. To prepare for the Dominion update, Turel was the brainchild of many of the possessions, then added and organized them to present a clear picture of what and where the Clan keeps its toys. His event “Odan-Urr: What if…?” ran for a month and put the members into a peculiar predicament, the possibility of being able to alter past events in Odan-Urr’s or their personal history. The event was a major success, seeing 19 contributors and 32 individual entries. In addition to the significant changes, Turel worked on the Scimitar of Lord Hoth competition and Life Day events, promoted activity for the Rite of Supremacy: Escalation, ran multiple community events and broadcast them using the new Discord “events” feature.

Thank you, Turel. We couldn’t have gotten any of that done without your help. Congratulations!

Rajhin has been great addition to the Dark Council and has continued to provide great contributions his entire time. Seeing him take his incredible vision he had for the office when he applied, and improving the gaming community has been great. All his contributions both in his office and to the DC have been worthy of reward. Congratulations.

Noobi always keeps the Regent office moving forward. Since his last award, he has overseen the launch of the Land Vehicle Upgrade system and a High Republic-themed booster pack, and run a successful club-wide Life Day event. On top of his Regent work, he also organized 36 competitions, participated in 11 (earning 14 crescents), and wrote 12,000 words of fiction. He picked up 77 CFs, 25 CIs, 50 CEs, and 6 CGs. In short, he's been busy, he's kept his staff busy, and he's given the club a significant amount of content to dig into since August. Congrats on the stabby, Noobi!

It's hard to quantify in words the kind of member Raistline is. Dedicated? Thorough? Loyal? He's been a member in the club for a very long time, and not once has his motivation wavered. He's incredibly active within the Clan, often throwing himself into things with reckless abandon. I admire him for it. So often you see veteran members barely being active, but that is not the case with Raistline.

My case in point? His activity level.

Since he was last awarded, Raistline has participated in 93 competitions, picking up a plethora of awards;

Crescent with Diamond Star x1 Crescent with Ruby Star x3 Crescent with Amethyst Star x7 Crescent with Sapphire Star x12 Crescent with Emerald Star x2 Crescent with Topaz Star x3

His work doesn't stop there either. His work within the halls of the Shadow Academy is worth noting. He has completed 10 SA courses and earned 4 degrees!

Raistline is a thoroughly dedicated member, and one that serves as an inspiration to most. He more than deserves this Amethyst Kukri. Congratulations, Raistline!

Primary reason

You might think that following an exhausting Great Jedi War and earning a Sapphire Blade that Nora would have, perhaps, slowed down a bit and taken a breather. Well, anyone that thinks that must not know Nora very well. Her work since the Great Jedi War has been truly exceptional as she's continued her torrid pace of activity while also shouldering additional leadership responsibilities without so much as missing a beat.

In the realm of activity, Nora has put up numbers that continue to astound. During the recently concluded Brotherhood Pro Bowl Nora participated in all 32 available competitions during the course of the event, earned 229 total points, earned a pair each of first and second place competition finishes along with a third, earned placement crescents in an additional four competitions, and earned 5th place overall (and was the second highest placing Plagueis competitor). All in all, not too shabby for a first time participant! Overall, she has entered 97 competitions and earned 2 Diamond, 4 Ruby, 3 Amethyst, 7 Sapphire, 3 Emerald, and 1 Topaz crescents along with a Gold Nova. She has continued to dominate the cluster board (especially for graphics) while earning 95 Clusters of Earth, 50 Clusters of Graphite, and 17 Clusters of Ice for 6,173 words of fiction across 10 fiction activities. She also passed an additional 5 Shadow Academy courses while earning her Dark Mavens of Leadership and Writing.

Now, any of that would have been impressive for a member without a day job, Nora has also been holding down leadership positions while giving back to the Brotherhood. While Turel will detail her work for the Fist staff, I would be remiss if I didn't go over everything she has been doing elsewhere. Nora has self-motivated to run 7 competitions across various competition series across the Brotherhood, including her D&D Brotherhood Edition series of 6 competitions and the currently running Nora's End of Year Puzzles series. However, she has also done the work to promote all those competitions around the Brotherhood via Discord messaging, not falling victim to the "If you build it, they will come" mindset that first time competition runners often mistakenly assume. Her D&D series saw 31 unique participants across the Brotherhood from nearly even clan as well as the Council, a remarkable bit of marketing for a first time competition runner. Additionally, Nora also stepped up into the role of Quaestor from her role as Aedile with less than a month to go before the start of the Pro Bowl. This would be her first time running a House during a major event, but more importantly she would be left to do it without the backup of an Aedile as Plagueis moved to a Quaestor-only House structure. Just like in every other aspect of her Brotherhood career Nora absolutely destroyed any reasonable expectations. She worked to engage with her members during the course of the event, adapting to the directive we gave to our leadership to forgo unit reporting and pivot away from unit wide messaging for the course of the event. Instead, she directly worked one-on-one with her members to drive activity in her unit and the results speak for themselves. 10 of the 15 rostered members of House Ventress submitted to events during the Pro Bowl, accounting for 50% of the unique Plagueis participants, and generated a total of 108 total entries. It is because of the work Nora did during the event that Plagueis saw a 70% participation ratio in the Pro Bowl and bested by 50% again the next closest unique participant number of all participants. She has been absolutely everything a Clan could ask for in a Quaestor.

In closing, Nora has once again proven that she is an absolute monster of activity and a leader that produces like a multi-year veteran as opposed to somebody that joined not even nine full months ago. Her work has been without peer over the course of her time in Plagueis, and being able to submit her for this honor is, without doubt, the best part of a Consul's job. Thank you, Nora!

Additional reasons

I was blessed to inherit Nora as a Magistrate when I came into the role as Fist. Her enthusiasm and knowledge proved invaluable during the Fist transition and the on-boarding of my first crop of hires this past summer. The office kept running smoothly thanks in no small part to Nora’s assistance. Her perspective as both a senior magistrate familiar with the existing procedures and a relatively young in the club equite contributed immensely to staff discussions and helped the office produce better policies and content for the club’s gamers. More directly Nora has reviewed 198 gaming activity submissions, ensuring that 68 members were awarded clusters of earth and fire in a timely and accurate manner.

On behalf of the Fist office and the club’s gaming community thank you for all your contributions both direct in the office and indirect being a positive and welcoming force in the gaming community.
