Augur Farrin Xies Tarentae has served the Dark Brotherhood in a multitude of positions over his career ranging from the Battleteam Sergeant of Ravana Squadron to Headmaster of the Dark Brotherhood. Throughout this time he has distinguished himself as one of our finest members and his activity to this day remains an example for our club.
Since DEC of 2017 (last recognition) Farrin served six months as our Headmaster and an additional one year as the Right Hand of Justice (See the Justicar's Recommendation below mine). In these roles, Farrin provided nuanced guidance and advice. This included the maturity required to discuss the removals of Letters of Reprimand on our members dossiers, sorely needed updates to the way the Shadow Academy was run, and cogent (yet painful) discussion points on the closing of Clan Tarentum. Farrin's leadership across these facets of the Dark Brotherhood was invaluable to our Club.
As a participant, Farrin remains a consistent and dedicated member. He has participated in 47 competitions since his last award. This includes 166 separate gaming events, 1800 words of fiction, 3 Shadow Academy Courses, 3 Degrees earned, 42 courses graded, and earned a Bronze Nova, 3 x various Crescents, 1500 Clusters of Fire, 242 Clusters of Earth, 4 x Scrolls of Foundation, 1 x Scroll of the Master (Training the Superstar Appius Wight), and earning 22 various War Seals.
Farrin, thanks for all you do for our club. Your leadership and counsel has been invaluable.

Farrin joined the Chamber of Justice almost a year ago and quickly made himself an indispensable part of the team. As Right Hand of Justice, Farrin assists in the investigation of all complaints received by the Chamber; he is also responsible for inquiring into suspected clone accounts when they are flagged by the website, which is a fairly frequent occurrence.
His most important duty, however, is as my adviser. I rely on Farrin for a fair and equitable evaluation of all issues presented to the Chamber. When asked for his opinion, without exception, Farrin has presented what he believes is the correct -- that is, fair, reasonable, just -- analysis of the case before him. And when cases proceed to trial, he is able to put aside his personal views and make the arguments necessary to fully prosecute a case. I couldn't ask for more in a Right Hand.
During his tenure, the Chamber has published a single decision. That does not adequately reflect the volume or quality of the work that Farrin does in his role, most of which happens behind closed doors and will never be shared publicly. Among various investigations and questions of Covenant interpretation that Farrin has assisted with, he also advised on Letter of Reprimand removal applications and on a clan's request to ban a member from transferring in. I am pleased and honored to be able to recognize his hard work and dedication with this recommendation for an AK.
Lord Dacien Victae, 2020-04-02 01:03:26 UTC
In the final months of his term as Headmaster, Farrin continued to be an excellent adviser and valuable member of the Dark Council, while fulfilling all of his duties as Headmaster. He oversaw a remodeling of the Shadow Academy on multiple fronts, from the launch of a new Wiki page, to structural changes to staff arrangements. He also took part in the more typical duties of the headmaster, such as overhauls of various courses, including working with two Justicars - Jac and Bubba - on new Law Department courses. He maintained an active staff, and he himself graded dozens of courses. But in that time, Farrin was also an extremely valuable adviser and an important member of the Dark Council. He was regularly among the first to offer suggestions or advice on discussions and his presence was missed when he left the Dark Council. In short, Farrin's last six months of service to the club were more than deserving of contributing to this Amethyst Kukri! Congratulations, Farrin!

Warlord Rulvak Qurroc (Warp) is one of the most active members in the history of the Dark Brotherhood. His activity is so high that it actually becomes easy to overlook the sheer volume he puts forward. He currently sits #1 all time in the club in Diamond Crescents, Pendants of Blood, Clusters of Fire, and Clusters of Earth (2 x more than #2). Since his last recognition of any type in our club (DEC 2018), he has participated in 63 competitions, played in 291 gaming events, written over 2600 words of fiction, passed an SA exam, earned 6 Gold/2 Silver/1 Bronze Novas, earned 33 various Crescents, earned 1454 Clusters of Fire (this alone puts him in the top 75 all time in the club), earned 1738 Clusters of Earth, earned 5 Clusters of Ice, and earned 22 Seals of Discord.
In addition to Rulvak's otherworldly personal activity, he has also served as a key leader in the creation and success of Clan Vizsla. Warp is a plank holder in Clan Vizsla and contributed to our foundational documents (https://drive.google.com/open?id=14r2-2yDPE5ZJgOHteZlf5-aHyjVrTiuL) and was a big part of why so many members came to Clan Vizsla (they like to game with him!). His direct involvement in our initial standby is a large part of why our Clan was approved.
Beyond his support to our creation, Warp has served in official leadership positions with Vizsla since its creation. This includes Battle Team Leader of Wren (4 months), the planned and successful precursor to House Wren. Warp's work to build a cohesive team, creation of House foundation documents (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1TDwe2vT2SK4jOxpUF__ZAktmshzDe1W-A8-lzs4EgBg/edit?usp=sharing), and ability to generate interest in members directly resulted in the creation of House Wren. He has served as Wren's QUA for the past four months and has done an outstanding job bringing along new members and creating an environment that is generating activity. At present, the house has 4 new members under the rank of EQ1 who are active in Telegram, actively participating across a multitude of club activities, and generating buzz within Vizsla. A large part of this core young group's activity is Warp's dedicated support and involvement in their membership.
Warp has contributed to our club through his sheer volume of activity, through his leadership in getting a new House and Clan approved in the Club, and through ways that many of us often do not think about. A prime vignette of leadership through example is Warp's recent support to every Clan in the Dark Brotherhood during the Great Jedi War. During the GJW Warp offered his extensive gaming abilities to help power level members in Diablo, run members through TOR dungeons, guide players through random maps and character creation on Warframe, level members to play Dauntless, and teach old people like me how to load into Hearthstone and Overwatch. This sort of leadership through example should not be overlooked. In many instances Warp aided other Clans during the GJW because their members would have never been able to compete or complete gaming events in the manner they did without his support. He did this without being asked and did it in order to generate more club wide activity. This is a true example of "leadership" in our club because it was both selfless and directed at the Club vs his circle of friends or just our Clan.
Warp, you deserve this. Congrats!

Ronovi Tavisaen took on the role of Consul of Plagueis just ahead of the latest Great Jedi War, and before that spent fifteen months as Proconsul. During this time she has done an incredible job as a leader in her dedication to her Clan.
She organized or helped manage 41 different competitions, including part of the Naga Sadow / Plagueis event Antiquities and a series of competitions for the Clan to vacation on Mustafar. Creating opportunity and a great experience for members within the Clan. As well as participating herself in 181 different competitions, leading by example and serving as a role model for other members on activity.
As Proconsul, she has been a great communicator in her reporting out to the Clan via reports and other communications, and constantly inspires those in Plagueis to be more involved. In reviewing the 34 different reports since her last award, it’s clear that after five years away, she filled a much-needed role in the Clan as a mentor and leader. Working alongside Arden to develop the clan direction and story and make sure members are having fun.
As Consul, Ronovi rallied the Clan and pushed hard for activity. Working to inspire members of the Clan to stay active and keep them informed on what they could do. Helping members in any way possible participate to their best extent.
For all the great work building up the great community of Plagueis the past 17 months, I recommend Ronovi is awarded an Amethyst Kukuri. Congratulations!

Daniel “Seraphol” Stephen has been the Headmaster for the past 16 months, immediately managing the large staff of professors and docents that keep things rolling, and taking on a range of projects.
As the Shadow Academy society was one of the first launched years ago, he took on the task to update the fictional identity to align it with the other societies. Driving it more in the direction of archaeology and giving fictional life to it with an identity that saw mention in the latest Great Jedi War.
As a member of the Dark Council, Seraphol is involved in major decisions across DC offices and in the planning and executing of major events and competitions. He is consistently involved in discussions on the Council and provides a valuable perspective on our decisions given his background in Odan-Urr. He has organized 30 different competitions as well, that date back to his time in Clan Odan-Urr. Creating competition series for members of his battle team and Festivus for the Clan, as well as quiz and knowledge Headmaster themed competitions in both the latest Rite of Supremacy and Great Jedi War, as well as May the 4th Celebration and a Shadow Academy themed competition series called SASsy that celebrated the new fictional identity.
He has managed to keep the staff running, and provide opportunities with members during his time as the Headmaster and left a lasting impact on how the Shadow Academy is seen within the Dark Jedi Brotherhood in stories. Congratulations on your Amethyst Kukri.

Since his last recognition almost four years ago, Gavriel, or Arion, has continued to improve and extend the Dark Brotherhood's Website by contributing to its codebase. Along with several minor fixes and tweaks, Gavriel has implemented numerous bigger features, each of which increases the performance of the site, or makes it easier to operate. He is always eager to look for areas to improve the site, which are becoming increasingly difficult to find as the website is becoming more and more mature.
Gavriel has single-handedly refactored the way the news page code works, such that rendering of the page now takes place at the client, which ensures a more responsive page or users, all while causing less strain on the server. He has implemented a feature that will weekly traverse all saved Shadow Academy exam attempts, and expires those that have not been touched for over six months. This prevents problems that would previously occur when SA staff would change the questions on the exams for older courses, rendering saved exams that depended on these questions in an inconsistent state. Gavriel has also completely overhauled the selectors used to select dossier items (weapons, robes, accessories) by turning them from a drop-down based system into more of a gallery-like page, which allows people to see all options available to them at one glance, rather than having to select each option individually, and has also contributed some smaller, yet very welcome, improvements, such as the ability to automatically pull participants into a parent competition based on activities in child competitions, and the ability to toggle visibility on personal NPCs, allowing people to hide characters they no longer use.
For these reasons, combined with the contributions to his Clan, Odan-Urr, which I'm sure his Consul will be happy to describe, I am pleased to recommend Gavriel Kadesh an Amethyst Kukri.

In addition to the above recommendation, it is my pleasure to note all the wonderful things Gavriel has done for Odan-Urr. Since his last recognition, he has participated in 19 competitions, 1 PvP match, 23 PvE matches, 1 SA course and 2 news comments. In addition, he participated in 4/12 GJW bins, focusing his talents to place in ¾ of them. He placed 1st in the Phase II Sudooku, 2nd in the Phase I Sudooku, and 7th place in the Phase I Gaming. For his efforts, he was given 1 Gold Nova, 1 Silver Nova, 1 Crescent with Diamond Star, 1 Crescent with Ruby Star, 3 Crescents with Amethyst Star, 10 Clusters of Fire, 115 Clusters of Earth, 1 Seal of Loyalty, and 6 Seals of Discord. Thank you so much and congratulations! We’re all proud of you.

Over the past year, Junazee has proven her worth time and time again as my Praetor. Juna is one of the friendliest, calmest, and most organized people I have ever worked with in this club, and it shows in her day to day work in the Fist office.
Since her last award, I made the decision to elevate her to the position of Praetor and tasked her with managing the monthly competition stream that the Fist office is so famous for. Her efforts speak for themselves. She has managed four competitions per month (48 in total), personally running five events when Magistrates were unable to meet their requirement. Additionally, Juna is a competitor herself, having participated in 87 competitions total.
Juna manages my competition planning through the Trello task management system, tasking individual magistrates with a specific competition type each month. She takes this responsibility seriously, rotating the competition types amongst the magistrates to ensure they get exposure to everything that falls within the purview of the Fist office. She pairs incoming magistrates up with the outgoing magistrates, limiting or eliminating the experience gap that happens when we rotate staff members.
Juna serves as my eyes and ears for gaming sales and updates, posting regular mid-month reports on any major news for the gaming community. She also monitors the Pendants of Blood awarding for our weekly and saturday PvP Winners, processes gaming activity, and acts as a positive presence in DB Gaming and in some unofficial clan chats.
I could not have asked for a better Praetor and right hand woman than Juna. She is one of the DB's rising stars, and I have no doubt that she is destined for greatness in this club.
I am honored to award her with this Amethyst Kukri as a small token of my appreciation for her efforts.
Thank you Juna, and keep up the outstanding work!

Juna's activity is striking. Since her last recognition, she's participated in 67 competitions, earned 16 crescents, earned 1123 Clusters of Fire, 30 Clusters of Earth, 2 Clusters of Ice, and 19 Clusters of Graphite. Additionally, she has passed 3 Shadow Academy exams. That, by itself, puts her in the upper echelons of the Brotherhood and COU when it comes to activity. However, what is truly exception is Juna's staying power. She was one of the most consistent, reliable members I had when I first entered leadership back in February 2016, and she is the only member I can think of who has given her all in every single battleteam, house, clan, and club event in the past three years. It was no surprise to me or anyone else in Odan-Urr when Juna participated in every bin for phases one, two, and three of the Rite of Supremacy, nor that she participated in three of the four event-long bins. We needed her, and she showed up. It was, and has always been, as simple as that.
As I've mentioned in several previous award recommendations, Juna also has a remarkable ability to get along with everyone and produce no drama. She has been the bedrock of Satele Shan and COU for longer than I've been in this club, and I am very proud to recommend her for an Amethyst Kukri.

DJM Darth Aeternus, aka Korras, served on the Star Chamber for 2 years. During this time he provided invaluable counsel to the acting Grand Master on topics ranging from the administration of GJWs, to Clan Closure ,to the nomination and approval of a new GM, to the expulsion of a long time member. In total, Korras' contributions to discussions on decisions about the club likely totaled over a hundred hours over those two years. Korras was the epitome of what a Star Chamber member is supposed to be by providing guidance and advice that was against his own personal desires, but was a positive for the club overall. For two years Korras was a part of nearly every major decision in the DJB and helped shape the direction of our club. For this reason, the Star Chamber is pleased to award Korras an Amethyst Kukri.

As Magistrate to the Grand Master for 11 months, Aurora Ta'var, aka Blade, served as an important advisor for me on the health of Clans and in special projects related to the Rollmaster position. Blade assisted with quarterly reports, which took up several days of her time on a quarterly basis, but her primary role was my Magistrate related to evaluating RM.
Blade showed initiative by reaching out to me regarding the Rollmaster position. Given how her own experience with the position often disagreed with others, Blade wanted to query the membership regarding the position and how it was being used. Blade planned and conducted an extensive survey of the position across the Brotherhood through a leadership survey and a general membership survey. Both surveys underwent significant review and revision and Blade spent multiple hours working to make each as clear as possible, and to focus very clearly on the perceived problems and strengths of the position such that we could use these survey results in the future to decide how best to handle and/or define the Rollmaster position.
Blade's contributions as my Magistrate, along with her extensive efforts as Proconsul, described below, make her more than deserving for this Amethyst Kukri. Congratulations, Blade!

It is impossible to capture the full scope of Blade's contributions in a few hundred words and some numbers, but her activity as a member is a decent enough start. Since her last recognition, Blade has participated in 129 competitions and organized or co-organized an additional 17. That's earned her 15 Crescents—including 4 diamond ones—and 4 Gold Novae during the last Rite of Supremacy, as well as 23 Seals of Fury for her participation in the Meridian event. Her regular activity makes her one of the most well-rounded members in Odan-Urr, as she's earned 432 Clusters of Fire and 6 Pendants of Blood for gaming, 31 Clusters of Ice for fiction, and 60 Clusters of Graphite for her submissions to graphics competitions. Her gaming activity during the Rite of Supremacy earned her a 6th place finish for the GMRG quarterly ladder, and more recently she was declared the Frosty Romanae Memorial BGL Champion for Jedi Academy. Additionally, she passed 7 Shadow Academy exams and earned 4 degrees, including 2 Dark Sages in Tactics and History and Lore.
That activity did not arise in a vacuum. Blade knows in her bones that effective leadership in this club comes down first and foremost to modeling the kind of member you want to work with. She wants her members to do competitions, so she plugs them aggressively—but first she does them herself. Those 60 CGs don't represent an attempt to pick up a new hobby. They represent a leader setting a positive example for her members by being one of the fist to engage with an activity or prompt and demonstrate that you don't have to have 1,000 hours invested in an activity to just toss in an entry and have fun with it. Likewise, she has been one of the most visible and active members on every communication platform we have: clan and house Telegram channels, mailing lists, report comments (36 of them!), voice chat, and the forums. Much of that communication has centered around activities meant to build up the Odanite community into something to transcends competitions and clusters. This includes the many, many hours of Cards Against Humanity that she's hosted on Discord, or her lessons for would-be Jedi Academy champions.
Blade also supported me in every facet of clan leadership during my tenure as CON, substantially increasing my effectiveness as well as keeping me sane. This began almost immediately, as she applied her experience as Rollmaster to help hire two RMs in quick succession and help me navigate substantial intra-summit conflict. Once the GJW XII epilogue was released, Blade immediately contributed half of the first COU fiction update of my tenure, ensuring that high-performing members were featured in official fiction. Blade was also very much an equal partner in our first major event, the Consul Bride cooperative event with Arcona. Her role included competition planning—which helped lead to 140 competition entries from COU alone—and taking point on the COU side of the event fiction.
One of Blade's less public tasks was helping me with long-term planning and proposals. Once Mav and Vyr were formally recognized as GM and DGM, we were able to present our plans for fictional and event development to them almost immediately. The work on implementing those plans included the Station to Station lore development comps and the Tipping Point clan event, which between them saw 113 entries.
During the Rite of Supremacy, she not only did the usual leaderly hyping and motivation, but she set a perfect example for our members by exceeding full participation, and walked away as the highest-scoring Odanite and a key component of our victory in that vendetta. Simultaneously, she was engaged at the Dark Summit level, ensuring that member concerns were presented to the Dark Council in a straightforward and professional manner and resolved. Since the end of the RoS, Blade has taken point on managing the house summits.
Throughout all of this, Blade has also played a critical role in day-to-day management, including moderating sometimes-heated chat discussions, addressing concerns of and with particular members, facilitating the award and promotion process, and odd tasks like writing the clan's first PulseFeed update.
In the two years that I have worked with her, I have never once found my trust or confidence in her to be misplaced. I take Odan-Urr's future very seriously, but I rest easy at night knowing that everything we built will continue to grow under her leadership.
