Primary reason

Khryso Mallus is, by any stretch of the imagination, one of the most criminally under-recognized members of the Brotherhood I've seen. Much of that is, of course, because his work often flies under the radar to those that are not paying attention. He's not standing around in chat talking himself up, he's not working on shiny projects that create a lot of glitz and glamor. He is just one that simply stands up and does the grunt work that needs doing. The Brotherhood has a lot of nitty gritty jobs that just need doing, and Khryso is often the one that is the one doing them.

He has amassed a mountain of medal XP tracked via our system, working out to 21,900 total points. Much of that was amassed over his years of service, waiting to be spent once the XP system went live. The fact that he needed to be "caught up" in the form of a Dark and Steel Cross each was just a symbol of all that he had done, and all that he had not been recognized over the years for. He received those awards and still had over twenty thousand medal XP as yet unrecognized. He has participated in nearly 800 competitions and placed in just under 250 of them, many of those placements earned before Crescent eligibility was expanded. 93 Shadow Academy Courses, 16 degrees, over 86 thousand words of fiction, 214 Clusters of Ice, etc. The numbers just continue to be staggering. He's pulled in awards for his activity, sure But the fact that his work has been "rewarded" while still leaving him nearly 22 thousand medal XP unspent speaks to the absolute insanity that is his activity level.

Additionally, he has worked to do a lot of work that isn't tracked by his XP numbers. He has served our Clan in his leadership positions. Beyond that, though, he has been the driving force behind the Clan's wiki presence. He's crafted articles for locations, entire units, events, etc. Most importantly of late, he has been the one slogging through the various fiction updates across the Brotherhood for vendettas, events, etc. in order to ensure that said information is chronicled in the history of Clan Plagueis. Lore, or as Howie calls it "Krathy stuff", is all well and good as it goes by, but without that information being written down all it can ever be is a flash in the pan. The unit cannot have a cohesive history that evolves as it grows, as stories feed into the next. Since he was last recognized with a medal for his wiki updating, he has made edits to 40 individual Clan Plagueis related pages, including updates of 10,080 and 4,924‎ bytes to the‎ Falger Mining Company article, 1,525 bytes to the Clan Plagueis history article, and 1,309‎ bytes to the House Tyranus article among others. Khryso is even the one that is chasing me down to ask for more work to ensure that the Clan does not suffer with the lack of content recording, which is the mark of true dedication. Lore updates to the wiki are not something that gets noticed, that is until somebody goes to look for something and cannot find it. Only when the content isn't maintained does it get noticed. Essentially, this work is a symbol of Khryos's work for our Clan: nobody in particular is noticing because it just gets done.

In short, I want to make sure that Khryso knows this: We noticed. All the things that you have done for our Clan over the years have not been forgotten. Congratulations!

Ok, say it with me now: Nora is absolutely insane. How can I say such a thing, you might ask? Because 19,464. What is 19,464 you might ask? Well, it is the number of medal XP that Nora has earned since her last award on February 1st. See, when I saw that Nora had recently exceeded 23 thousand medal XP on her ledger, I assumed that she was similar to others that had large remaining XP balances: there must have been a large amount stacked up from before the XP system launched. Nope! Her "catch up" award was a Grand Cross award that left her with 4,071 XP remaining. In the time since, Nora has averaged just over 4,500 XP earned per month. I'll give you a second to recover from that, because I know that the idea of a member averaging nearly a Sapphire Blade per month just blew your minds. That's what Nora does, blows minds and breaks systems.

Since that last award in February, Nora has completed entries for 211 competitions and earned 1 Silver Nova along with 7 Diamond, 31 Ruby, 28 Amethyst, 35 Sapphire, 13 Emerald, 9 Topaz, and 1 Quartz crescents. That's a placement rate of 59%. She's earned herself clusters in the following varieties: 27 Fire, 54 Ice, 592 Earth, and 110 Graphite. She basically assimilated the entire Shadow Academy like a Borg drone while passing 49 courses to earn 13 degrees. She was 78 words shy of 10,000 words of fiction in that time (Yes, she was over nine thousand!). Basically, about everything the site tracks Nora did. In vast quantities. And just for good measure she finished first overall in our Ascending Confederacy House feud and second overall (and top in our Clan) in our Clan Feud against Taldryan while hitting 100% participation in both. If I hadn't spoken to Nora over Discord I might have suspected she was a bot coded by James to literally do all the things. She serves as an example to every member of Plagueis and the Brotherhood just what can be done if you put your mind to it.

Outside of her trackables, Nora has also given excellent service in the realm of leadership work. She has been a great leader of House Ventress, demonstrated by the 76% participation rate they managed during the recent Clan Feud. She has engaged her members via report (minus the one that fell during the Clan Feud as she was directed to focus on direct member engagement) as well as in one on one interactions. She mentored Bril Teg Arga, a newly joined member, to the rank of Knight (and said member has already made it to Equite one as well). Suffice it to say, within Plagueis she has been an invaluable asset to the leadership team. Nevermind the service she has given to the various office staffs within the Brotherhood as well.

Nora is a unique member within the Brotherhood, having done an amazing amount of work since she arrived. Plagueis has been vastly improved due to the work she has put in, both as a consumer of activity and a leader of the membership. Thank you for all that you have done for the Ascendant Clan.

Since his last award in February, Tali has earned 21,354 medal XP across his myriad activities in the Brotherhood. In these matter of months, he's participated in 17 competitions (21 if we includ the containers that go with them), placing in 10 of them at an astounding 58% placement rate. When a full third of these competitions were high-demand competitions like fiction and graphics, it shows that he puts his credits where his mouth is. More to the point, Tali has slammed out a whopping 12,883 words of fiction across just five fiction activities, earning 26 Clusters of Ice; and 3 Clusters of Graphite for his graphics work to round him out. Not just a competitor, Tali organized 3 competitions for House Qel-Droma in February shortly after his last awarding to continue their story.

That leads us into the part that the site can't track so well. Tali has been House Qel-Droma's Quaestor since 2019, and is still keeping the fire alive. With fiction updates that are more regular than my own, Tali's added around 2,100 words of fiction just for his House in the five months since his last award. He not only participated in the latest Clan event, but kept up consistent motivation among his members on Discord, throwing out links and helpful hints in the House and private Arcona chats throughout. This motivation also came through in his report for that event — one of many, and by far one of our most consistent report-writers to keep Qel-Droma informed.

On a more personal note — I've said it before in other recs, and I'll say again here — Tali is a pleasure to be around. His consistent presence, calm yet outgoing demeanor, and lead-from-the-front method makes him a prime leader in the seat. He can always be counted on for deliberate and constructive criticism as well which, when coupled with his fascination for our Clan military Possessions, makes him just as invaluable when wading through the units and their compositions.

So to Tali, thank you for all of your hard work, you wonderful lek-head. Keep it up. You do us proud.

As has been said many times over in past recommendations, Jafits is a rare member who seems to do everything gaming related, all the time and all at once. Offering up hundreds of Clusters of Fire and Clusters of Earth each month, it’s no surprise that he’s farmed enough sheer experience to one of our most desirable awards. The kind you can bludgeon people with.

It’s long overdue, and I’m glad we can now award this to you, Jafits.

What do you say to someone who has done so much for the club and just keeps going? I’ve written many of these for you and each time I’m just as proud. This one is especially important because of your continued support at the position of Quaestor. Leadership can be hard and demanding and not always convenient but you keep at it anyways no matter what life throws at you. Your dedication is commendable and I think you are doing an awesome job. You’ve also been one of the hardest working members I’ve ever known in this club. It’s been my absolute pleasure to work beside you and along with you throughout all these years. You’ve been a good friend and good company to the whole clan, whether it be your activity in discord or elsewhere. Your impact has been felt and cemented. I appreciate everything you’ve done and I will always remember the loyalty shown Odan-Urr and the club. :)

This Ruby Scepter feels like a culmination of skills over all these years, both as a leader and member. As your friend, teammate, and clanmate, thank you for the time and energy you put into the Clan. Congratulations!

Appius is currently 74 XP short of a Ruby Scepter. He's earned most of that XP in the 8 months since he picked up an AK, which is a very impressive amount of activity on top of having to run an entire clan. Appius is easily one of our most active members and leaders, participating in 124 comps, organizing 73, and writing just way, way too many words of fiction.

Lord Dacien Victae, 2023-04-09 00:44:59 UTC
Additional reasons

Appius is an incredible active member of the community and a strong valuable leader. Congratulations on the medal!

Master Aramis Taelyan, 2023-04-07 21:12:40 UTC

Appius continues to be a fantastic Consul for his clan. He pushes the boundaries on what it means to be engaging and active as a Consul; staying in constant daily communication, creating interesting storylines and events, providing opportunities for his members to be active and pushing them to engage with the wider club.

He's been in this role a fair amount of time now, and continues to prove he is a force to be reckoned with. We complement people who can do club-wide events from their phone, but Appius takes it way further: a phone is his near exclusive access to the club, and has been that way for years. All his activity, communication, and leadership the last couple years, he's doing all that from a phone. That is impressive in its own right it, but the fact he maintains the activity and leadership capabilities he does and doesn't let it slow him down is even more so.

Almost everyone knows Appius, and if they haven't they're probably heard of him given his good nature and capability of building relationships not just with members of other units, but the leaders of those clans to form a strong coalition of leadership and comradery. He is an active participant in many aspects of the club, and goes out of his way to be the best leader he can. Appius deserves this award.

General Zxyl Bes'uliik, 2023-04-07 22:58:26 UTC

Appius is an exceptional Consul, and one of those people that make the club a fun place to be for everyone in Taldryan. Appius has created an excellent environment in Taldryan for people to enjoy the club's activities, and I hope it continues for a long time to come.

General Zentru'la, 2023-04-08 09:05:30 UTC

From a galaxy, far, far away,
Exists a man of red and lightning gold.
His name is thought odd, Appius Zappius Wight,
A Taldryan Chancellor with that Mandalorian light.

While crapping thunder with saber strikes,
He seeks pirate plunder for Taldryan likes,
A hero of the people, zappy and all,
Unlike that Palpy, please don't be a Palpy.

Across the galaxy he there roams,
Bringing thunderous applause everywhere he goes,
For the betterment of the second Galactic Empi-uhh.. Republic, yeah...Republic,
Ensuring a true safe and secure society.

With a short by his side,
Serving as his guide,
He'll never hide or be led astray,
To bide his time with his lightning-themed ashtray.

And when Taldryan has won,
Its enemies fewer than one,
Dark robes he'll wear,
Assuring great care.

New Ruby Scepter in hand,
Practicing his groovy stepper moves with a band,
A new lightning constellation is born,
and Teebu becomes a thorn.

Congrats Appy!

A few months ago, XP was rolled out and there was much rejoicing. We made a lot of members whole because of the body of work they'd done over the years and the deficit of awards. People who had struggled to get a Grand Cross or a Sapphire Blade were handed these out en masse; and it was good.

Then the period of periodic reviews began and we looked at people and said 'they've done a lot, let's give them a few Grand Crosses' and again...it was good.

Then I looked at Reiden and I said; this is not good. There can be no truncation of his contributions. A half dozen Grand Crosses and Sapphire Blades would not be enough. It had to be a Ruby Scepter; and this was good.

The objective of rolling out XP was to ensure that we looked at the whole of a member's contributions to the organization. We've awarded Reiden over the quarters and we've spoken about what he's done at each time. Most reviewed character sheets or accepting new responsibilities. His status as puzzle master is legendary and few, nay near none, will beat him when he applies himself.

But, we haven't talked about the impact of who Reiden is and what he does. I would wager that nearly all members since Reiden has become Magistrate of the Voice have had their Character Sheets improved based upon Reiden's feedback. This would be good, but Reiden does better. He consults with people, offers suggestions, provides facts to help them create the character they want to play.

Reiden is like the living database for the club. He remembers story arcs for individuals characters from years ago. I know, personally, it's a joyous feeling when he recalls something I wrote years ago. Imagine how that makes newer members feel?

When you look at the requirements for this award it speaks of 'extreme dedication'. Who amongst us is more dedication to the members of this club than Reiden?

I have had a great privledge awarding Reiden over the last few years and I look forward to doing more. He'll be a Master in no time!

Master Kamjin "Maverick" Lap'lamiz,
Additional reasons

I have known Reiden for a very long time now in the Brotherhood. I saw him grow from a Journeyman to a Knight. Everyone pitched in and helped him believe in himself and achieve that feat back then. And now, he pays it forward. He continues to be an amazing example of what a member should be. He is always ready to help any member with any questions, no matter who they are or where they come from. He has been an instrumental part of the CSP Summit staff for 2 years now, during his time as Rollmaster and continuing on as Quaestor once the previous position was dissolved. Everyone knows you can count on Reiden to guide members, both new and old, to better understand how our organizations works. He makes the Brotherhood a more cohesive and better place overall.

He is incredibly active on Discord, which is the lifeline for our online community. He is our puzzle master, always working hard in the puzzle mines to bring in those diamond crescents almost every single time. Reiden, you drive me absolutely crazy sometimes, and you have more than earned this Ruby Scepter. Congrats!!

Proconsul Rayne Palpatine, 2023-04-05 16:33:56 UTC

Reiden has long been a pillar of the CSP community. His positive encouragement of others and guidance of members is unmatched amongst his peers. He is constantly assisting people with questions about their fictional development, complimenting artists on their work, and contributing to the general good. This behavior is not limited to the halls of Clan Scholae Palatinae, either. Reiden takes this attitude abroad as well.

Reiden has also been one of the most active members of Clan Scholae Palatinae for a very long time. Take one look at his total credits earned for the clan and that proves my point. Earning CSP over 5,000,000 credits for Clan Scholae Palatinae, his total is greater than 2nd and 3rd place combined. When it comes to puzzles, there is no equal.

Reiden has earned this medal for his outrageous levels of sustained activity over an outrageous length of time, his contributions to our community and clan, and the continued support he gives to those around him.

Congratulations Reiden, Keep up the great work!

For the last half year, Wally has played a major role in helping to implement RP as a regular DB activity. As the club's second Exarch, he led his staff through long, data-intensive discussions and analysis of how DBers have been RPing in order to develop milestones for the new Envoy Corps. Wally worked closely with James to define an entirely new dual-track "supplementary society" using the preexisting trophy system. The final product is something unique in the club but still connected to all of our other systems.

I also need to add that last year Wally helped lead a small team in rewriting and modernizing the Consul's Handbook. It was not nearly as large a project as the Envoy Corps, but it required sifting through an extremely outdated manual to find the good bits and then rewrite and reorganize the rest. All in all, great work, Wally!

Lord Dacien Victae, 2023-04-04 13:17:19 UTC
Additional reasons

Make a society. Well, not a "society." I don't know, some sort of incentive structure where when people do stuff they get stuff. You'll figure something out. It should be tiered, unless it shouldn't. See what James thinks. Oh, maybe there could be two of them? It definitely needs to have all the society stuff. We'll just call it a pillar or something. Oh, we can't do two of them, way too many credits. They'd have to be half sized. And this is a society, the other ones are pillars. Maybe just do one track but make sure it covers GMing and participating. And this isn't a society, we were being metaphorical when we called the other ones pillars. This can't be a society anyway, the INQ already covers CI stuff. What? This is why you thought it shouldn't be on the CI in the first place? But it's just fiction. No, we can't just use the INQ, RP isn't just fiction, it needs its own thing. But James says it has to be its own two things using the trophy system because otherwise it'll be a nightmare to code.

I suspect when people saw the Envoy Corps launch, they thought that the hard part was, you know, the Envoy Corps. The lore, the unlocks, the progression, that stuff. As the person who dumped this task on Wally's lap, I can say authoritatively that all that was the easy part, not least because he had a lot of help. The hard part was actually getting the thing done. Every tiniest aspect was picked apart and debated, including what the goal was, if it was happening, how we were even allowed to talk about it. The rewards themselves went through no fewer than three separate approval processes: Voice for the feats, Regent for the items, Herald for the dossier skins. The whole thing had all of those people (and the DC at large and the Exarch staff and other helpers) weighing in on the overall design, and then James reviewing it to make sure it was actually doable. Almost all of those people are opinionated, busy, and have their own equities to manage. At every single point in the process, things had the potential to stall but only the Exarch was going to keep it moving.

I spent six months talking through the stupid thing without even truly getting started. In that amount of time, Wally was able to gently shoo me away and then get the entire project designed and launched, and now I'm joining sessions and interacting with other members I don't even know just so I can get some sweet sweet Envoy Marks. Lasting impact achieved.

Headmistress Alethia Archenksova, 2023-04-01 13:30:54 UTC

I come hither to bear witness unto the deeds and capabilities of Marick Tyris, aka Wally, aka Boo-boo Bear. Sir Wall has done phenomenal work for Club and Clan, as clearly conveyed by my commenting compatriots, so my care is to give just cause by conveyance of competitions, Crescents, and Clusters. And you have no idea how happy I am that our system supported that alliteration.

Since his last recognition last January, Wallball participated in a solid eighty competitions, not including containers or brackets (which would bring it up to eighty nine), averaging just shy of six competitions per month. Depending on which number you go with, his eighteen Crescents and four Novae give him a rough average of 25% placement rate. This mathematical wizardry tells us that not only does he like to #doallthethings, he also puts out solid products. What's more, twenty seven of those competitions were pure Vendetta material as evidenced by his Seals of Ascension. Completionist energy, yo.

Now, for a guy that has done so much to stand up the Brotherhood's roleplay society, it comes as absolutely no surprise that Wallson — again, in only a little over a year — has cranked out a tremendous 90,798 words of fiction (for comparison, The Hobbit hovers at just over 95 thousand; mull on that poodoo). This has earned him a lovely two hundred ten Clusters of Ice to go with his collection of other Clusters: thirty five of Graphite, eighty two of Earth, and one hundred of Fire. He also earned a Dark Side Scroll for his work on the BT Voidbreaker wiki and getting it as the featured article; and a Scroll of the Master for bringing up our own Mex from tiny newblet to JM4.

Wallker Edgelord Ranger is truly a powerhouse member of Arcona and the Club as a whole, and he very likely deserves more credit than he gets. For now, I hope he appreciates his new shiny beating stick, and the utter shenanigans of this note on his dabalicious self. Thank you, Wally.

Qyreia Arronen
Consul, Clan Arcona

Qyreia Arronen, 2023-04-02 17:19:31 UTC

As a Battleteam Leader, Wally does what he always does, in all he does: goes 110%, Plus Ultra. He regularly put out reports, lead by constant example in participating in every single DB, Clan or House event that came up, minor or major, and always went above and beyond doing as much as he could for his team. Whether this was hosting fictional parties in RP, defining team lore and spirit, promoting and awarding his members, teaching leadership skills and practical competition skills and literally anything else brought up, answering questions, participating in discussion and CREATING discussion and community, being a listening ear and friend...Wally. Does. Everything. Everywhere. All at once. None of us can keep up with him. And we're all grateful for his care, time, and attention, as a leader, advisor, Arconae, member, and friend.

That attention, as attested, is not limited to his BTL role. It has been for the whole Club for the last decade and last year. It's noteworthy that of those written words Q mentions to make Roleplaying a reality in the DB, 31207 of those words were participating for the express purpose of engaging other to participate, and 35001 are from DMing the roleplay itself to create that experience for others. There wouldn't be RP without him. It's a big success in our Clan with his help, and it's wonderful to see it coming to the Club at large too, as I can attest both as an observer and a recent staff member under him.

Thank you for everything, Wally. May this award be another signifier to what comes next.

While the Medal XP system states Zoron has earned this medal through his site activity, I just wanted to add a small bit about Zoron. While his activity is known throughout the brotherhood. I would like to focus on the little things that he has done. Often overlooked are the normal things that make a member a blast to have in a clan. His presence on Discord and generally positive attitude are great to have around. In fact, it is kind of infectious. I don't ever remember him talking badly about other members. He has friends far and wide in this club and perhaps the best part is I have never heard anyone say anything negative about Zoron.

He worked tirelessly as my Proconsul and as stated in my recommendation for his elder promotion. Much of the groundwork he laid during that time is just now starting to produce the results we wanted in Clan Vizsla. I wanted this to be more than just clearing his medal XP because Zoron is more than just competition entries. Congrats on the Ruby Scepter Zoron!

Over the past year, DarkHawk completed capped off a successful term as CNS PCON with a strong showing as Second Clan of the Brotherhood. Shortly after that, Bentre resigned and DH replaced him as Consul. As CON he has kept CNS (and club) busy through dozens of competitions, including the Pro Bowl and a DB-wide holiday event. He's put a solid leadership team in place and the future is bright for CNS.

His personal activity has been astounding. Besides the dozens of competitions he has organized or co-organized, DH also participated in 97 comps, winning nearly 30 crescents. He picked up 725 CFs, 226 CEs, 17 CGs, and 69 CIs based on 27k words of fiction. Congrats, DH!

DarkHawk has been an incredible member of the community, both as a leader, and as a member. Participating in over 100 competitions and organizing several dozen more. It's been great to see him move up the ranks over the years and succeed as a PCON, and now Consul and leader of the Clan. I look forward to seeing him bring that same energy and leadership in the future. Congratulations.
