Primary reason

Over the past 15 months since his last recognition, Silent has continued to demonstrate that he is a key contributor to Clan Plagueis. He is always there when his fellow clan mates call on him, as both a dynamo of activity and a peer leader offering encouragement and motivation to his comrades. He has been especially active during our Clan wide events, always acquitting himself well while generating consistently high numbers of entries.

During our Winter Trials event last December, he entered 11 of the 25 available competitions. Following that during our March/April event The Enemy Below, he entered 24 of 24 possible competitions while placing first in 2 and third in 1 of them. His 168 total points earned were good for a seventh place finish overall. Then, during our Wargame event he participated in 9 of 10 possible competitions, earned two first place and two third place finishes with his entries, and took fourth place overall in the competition. Finally, in the second annual Pro Bowl event that Plagueis just completed with Clan Taldryan, Silent submitted entries to 25 of 25 total competitions, earned 168 total points, and finished a respectable 11th overall between the two Clan's combined rosters. All told, Silent has entered 69 of a possible 84 possible competitions across all of Plagueis's Clan wide or multi-clan feud events over the past year. When things matter the most, Silent is always there with his efforts.

All told since his last award, Silent has put up some very impressive numbers overall. When it comes to competitions, he has entered 149 competitions and 11 container competitions. He has amassed 21 total crescents: 2 Ruby, 5 Amethyst, 8 Sapphire, and 6 Emerald. He has completed 24 fiction activities (and 6,816 words of fiction) and an ACC match to earn a total of 23 Clusters of Ice. As a gamer, he has reported 31 PvP matches and 1 PvE activity, earned 141 Clusters of Fire and 47 Clusters of Earth, and secured a PvP score Pendant of Blood. He has also secured 11 Clusters of Graphite for his graphics entries over that time. Heck, even as a member with a tenure longer than some of our members time on this earth, he even completed a Shadow Academy course.

More than just his general activity, Silent has added things that are less tangible to the Plagueis community. During our events, he's always been a tireless cheerleader in the Clan Telegram channel, extolling the other members of Plagueis to throw themselves into the event just as much as he is. An excellent sportsman, he is always quick to congratulate the victors and promise them just as tough a fight the next time around. His positive comments on Clan and House reports are also a positive contribution toward the environment that Plagueis fosters. He has even worked tirelessly with Clan members, both past and present, on self improvement in his interactions with his fellow Plagueis. This is a journey I myself have walked, and always want to offer positive recognition as others make that same trek.

This sacramental award is well earned and highly deserved. Plagueis would not be the Clan it is today without the tireless contributions of Silent over the years, especially over the last 15 months. It is my hope that this first sacramental is a stepping stone to bigger and better things in the future for Silent, and hope that is my privilege as Consul to write the recommendations for his advancement into that future.

Thank you for everything that you have given.

Silent is a well known quantity in Plagueis. When you organize an event, Silent is there. When you want help promoting an event? Silent is there. When you need help with completing an event? Silent is there.

What more do you ask from a member with as long a tenure as Silent? Nothing.

This is a well earned reward that properly recognizes Silent's many contributions to Plagueis in terms of activity, peer interaction, and overall reputation. He's a good guy who gives his all and works hard for the benefit of others, leading by example.

Well Done!

From being his Quaestor, I have been given the chance to see what Silent does for Plagueis. To call him a cheerleader is accurate, but there's also more to him than that. He does what he asks of others and is the first to ask a question should one come into his mind and as a Quaestor, that's what I like to see.

Good job Silent, you earned it!

When the Plagueis-Taldryan Pro Bowl results were first posted, it was no surprise to find Silent was the first person in Telegram to pass along his sincere and heartfelt congratulations and encouragement to all the other members who participated.

This genuine attitude of support for the membership has been an absolutely fantastic addition to the Clan, and even the Club as a whole. But like many of the great leaders of this Club attempt to teach, Silent doesn't just encourage. No, Silent performs to the best of his ability, leading the way by example as a shining beacon for other members to look up to.

Silent, your hard work, your ability to have fun, and your team-centered attitude have all played a vital role to getting you here. You continue to develop into a mature, well-rounded, and continuously active member day in and day out. Keep up the amazing work and the positive mentality, and I know there will be more great things to come.

Congratulations, Silent. Fantastic job.

I've had the pleasure of working with Silent since the day I joined Clan Plagueis many years ago. There are times when I've been his subordinate, and there was a time when I was his consul. During my tenure as consul of Plagueis, Silent was, and still is, a stalwart of activity. The most recent example of this is the Plagueis/Taldryan Pro Bowl that I helped organize and run. During that event, Silent went 100% across the entire event. That is a common theme with Silent from the time I was consul until now: he is always participating in events, giving it his all, and encouraging others to do the same. Through his body of work over the past year plus he has shown why he is a member worthy of a Sapphire Blade by his extensive activity, interaction within the clan, and encouragement of other (and new!) members. Congratulations, Silent! Very well earned!

From the moment I joined the Brotherhood, Silent was a name I not only saw, but saw frequently. With an infectious attitude, Silent is always encouraging others to be active and to strive for their absolute best.

Not only does Silent preach but he also practices. If he encourages you to participate in an event or competition you can guarantee he’ll be there as well, this was evident during the Plagueis/Taldryan Pro Bowl where Silent competed in every single competition. Ever the team player, I am honoured to be a member of the same Clan as Silent.

Good work and congratulations!

If I had to pick a single member for the clan to look up to, a paragon of what a leader and a member should be, I would pick Edgar Drachen without a moment of hesitation. Even now, as the clan enters a golden age of sorts full of standout members and heavy hitters, Edgar still towers above the rest like the mighty dragon he is. You would think that kind of impressive record of individual activity, leadership and staff work (which has been recognized separately by the Fist) would give one a huge ego, but not Ed. Edgar is one of the most humble and down to earth members you’ll find. His primary motivation is taking care of his people and lifting them up. He drives to excel as an individual member to lead from the front, not to aggrandize himself.

Ed is without question the finest unit leader I have worked with in the Brotherhood. If this award seems it’s been a long time coming it is because Edgar demanded we award all his people first before putting anything in for him. That just shows the character he has as a leader. Digging into the numbers, Edgar is a prolific content generator, he has organized 74 competitions and co-organized another 18. Those competitions include the house event Suspicion on Solyiat (19 unique participants) and the clan event The Blooming of Solyiat (18 unique participants). He also received a Scroll of Indoctrination and Scroll of the Master for recruiting and mentoring Ashael Blackstar to JM4. I could write volumes of how valuable Edgar is as a member of the summit. As Consul I count him as one of my primary advisors, he is a tireless advocate for the members and isn’t afraid to be honest and hold Arch and I accountable in our roles. This isn’t to say Ed is a grump or something, he just has a way of speaking the truth in a way a respected friend would out of a desire for you and the clan to be the best.

As an individual member Edgar’s record is simply breathtaking. He has participated in 172 competitions (with an additional 30 container competitions) and taken home Crescents in 39 of those. He consistently ranks as of the club’s top gamers with 1646 Clusters of Fire, 2270 Clusters of Earth and 17 Pendants of Blood all since his last promotion. Not confined to a single activity, Edgar has also accumulated 28 Clusters of Ice and 26 Clusters of Graphite in that same time period. His breadth of activity was put to the test when he took 2nd overall in the COU-TAL coop event Desperate Measures.

Edgar and I’s friendship predates our time in the Brotherhood, we even joined on the same day (with PINs one digit apart). I could wax on about how valuable that friendship has been on a personal level but in an award like this I’ll stick to a professional level. Throughout our entire DB careers there’s been a soft competition between us as we drive each other to excel. I can say I wouldn’t be where I am today in the club without his motivation and support. While I may have hit some milestones first, he was always right on my heels. Today I will state in front of the entire club that Edgar, my friend, you have surpassed me in many ways. I look up to you and I know the rest of the clan does as well. Thank you for all that you do for us and accept this small token of our gratitude.

Additional reasons

I only joined the team of COU’s Summit four short months ago, so I’ve only seen the latter half of Edgar Drachen’s drive — let’s face it, there’s no other word I can think of to describe this — to ensure the success of House Hoth and Clan Odan-Urr as a whole. When I joined the team, the Blooming of Solyiat and Scimitar of Lord Hoth were already established; Blooming was ready to go. I’ve worked on Scimitar the last four months and that was nothing compared to the planning session that went into Suspicion on Solyiat.

Just the sight of this maelstrom of activity laid out after removing all of Edgar’s activity as Praetor to the Fist leaves me filled with awe. The mere thought of attempting to accomplish this level of activity makes me imagine that I would need to physically clone myself two or three times to manage it in a year, and Edgar did all of this in TEN MONTHS. He told me on two occasions to make sure the members were taken care of first. So, in my opinion, we’ve definitely saved the best for last.

Edgar does all of this for the members with no regard of his own accomplishments. There is no yearning for recognition beyond a simple ‘thank you’. That’s just the kind of person he is and I feel there will be massive shoes to fill on the day that Edgar Drachen decides to retire.

Ed, you’ve been an inspiration since I met you. You quite literally put blood, sweat and tears into everything that you do for the Clan. This is our way of saying thank you.

Enjoy that Sapphire Blade, brother. You’ve more than earned it!

Edgar is there. I don't really have any other way of putting it. You want to game? Ed's there to play with you. You in his house? Ed is there, as attentive to providing content and recognition to his members as any leader I know. You need to talk to somebody? Ed's there to listen to you and do whatever is in his power to help. There aren't a lot of people around who you can always count on, but Edgar Drachen is one of them.

I've known Ed as my Master, my equal in rank, and my subordinate - though that last one is really a joke, since he keeps Turel and I in line and needs no management himself - and I can say that he's straightforward and fair with you regardless of what your ID line looks like. He's perfectly agreeable and down for anything, but if something is going to hurt the members, he'll fight tooth and nail until he's satisfied that their interests are being put first.

Ed's the butt of a lot of jokes in the various COU chats (the sheep-shagging geezer), but the truth is that I can't imagine Odan-Urr's summit without him and hope that I never have to.

Ahh Edgar or Egg as he is affectionately known as. This guys is a hell of a member and leader in the DJB. In all the years I have been in this club I have seen few like him. As a leader he asks no more from his members, than he asks of himself. He holds himself to a higher standard and embodies the COU leadership spirit of leading from the front. Beyond that he is a hell of a force in the gaming spotlight, and Im not talking about his FIST-y stuff. He is always open to play people in Overwatch, JA, Battlefront, Heroes of the Storm, and Ive even seen him suffer through some rounds of Pazaak.

Of late he has led a crusade on getting some of the Hoth lore filled. Getting members excited and active in various comp series he has run both prior and after the GJW announcements. He is keen on having his House members ready for all aspects of the GJW. He is the kind of leader that I admire, one that will not push you to do things, he only reminds that things are up. He wants his peeps to better themselves, and would rather see them be awarded than himself.

Congrats on this stabby thing my friend. It really is well deserved. You truly are one of the reasons the heart of COU beats as strong as it does.

Primary reason

Since his appointment to Praetor to the Fist in December of 2016, Edgar Drachen has spent the past nine months working extremely hard as the administrative arm of the Fist office. As Praetor, I tasked Edgar with multiple projects, specifically the testing of new gaming platforms, competition creation and management, and the close monitoring of activity approval timelines. In all areas, Edgar has performed admirably.

One of Edgar’s greatest accomplishments was his efforts in helping to add platforms to the DB’s library of supported games. When testing began for adding Heroes of the Storm as a supported platform, Edgar led the charge on this event, pushing for activity across all clans, leading to one of the single-most successful gaming tests since I joined the Fist staff as a Magistrate. Well over 400 individual matches were played by 30 unique participants during the test, with Edgar taking part in nearly 100 of them. After completion of the test, Edgar drafted a clear and concise proposal drafting out multiple modes and associated cluster values, of which two made it through to actual support. Heroes of the Storm has gone on to become one of the DB’s most popular games, and it is Edgar’s efforts in pushing members to take part in the test that made it possible.

Additionally, Edgar took the reigns of testing the DB’s first supported mobile game: Star Wars: Force Arena. This test was just as impressive, with 22 unique participants submitting well over 200 screenshots, and providing me with the average match times to determine Cluster values. Star Wars: Force Arena is the only mobile game that has full site support, and it is Edgar’s efforts in running the test event that made its addition possible.

Edgar is without a doubt a powerhouse of activity when creating competition content for our gamers. When I assumed office, the standard activities were limited to cluster races and mobile games, which after a few years of constant use had become stale and unpopular with our gamers. I gave Ed some very clear guidance: I want something unique that will help to reinvigorate interest with the club’s gamers. Once again, Ed exceeded my expectations. He immediately provided suggestions on three annual container competitions for Gaming, Mobile, and Flash games, and helped to create unique events that moved away from the standard trope of cluster races and screenshots. Edgar’s most successful event came in the form of the Heroes of the Storm 1v1 Bracket Competition. Fourteen of the DB’s HotS players took part in a four-round bracket competition designed to test players abilities in managing a team of AI against other DJB members. This competition was notable for having a 100% participation rate across all rounds. Edgar provided new challenges each week, and the members provided a great deal of feedback about what they liked and didn’t like (which was minimal) about the event.

Edgar’s primary role as Praetor is the management of the Magistrates as they review and approve gaming activities, while occasionally taking on the responsibility of approving activities himself. The numbers speak for themselves. In the past 9 months, Edgar has managed the timely approval of over 1352 PvE/PvO activities, of which he personally reviewed and approved 540, and 718 PvP activities, of which he has personally reviewed and approved 319.

Edgar’s most endearing qualities are not limited to his activity or work. Edgar is an exceptionally active and positive voice in DB Gaming, taking the time to discuss issues with members when I am unavailable and voicing their concerns and comments in the Fist Staff chat.

Edgar Drachen is one of the hardest working members of the DB that I have known in my short time in the club. He easily accomplishes any task I set before him, no matter how large or small. It is my honor and privilege to award him with this Sapphire Blade.

Thank you for all you do, Edgar. Congratulations!

I must have done something right in a past life to deserve a deputy like Alethia, aka Arch. His diligence, attention to detail and initiative are the stuff of legend. To say I rely on him as my Proconsul to help keep the Clan moving forward is an understatement. There is so much to a leadership position that doesn't readily jump off a dossier: the constant summit coordination, engaging with members, mediating conflict, hours spent bouncing ideas, late nights spent drafting member awards or event fictions and keeping the Consul focused and on schedule. Arch does all these things and more; he has been an essential part of the COU team both as Quaestor and Proconsul.

In addition to all the intangibles that are hard to quantify but make Arch an exceptional leader there is a body of project work he has completed during this time period which have provided cornerstones for the Clan's functioning. First, Arch prepared and regularly updates a Member guide for COU lore. This document has proven an invaluable resource for both new and returning COU members to get up to speed on everything that is happening in both COU and the larger brotherhood.

Second, he led and assembled the work product for our Armed Forces project which laid out the structure and initial purchase order for COU's armed forces following the release of possessions. Arch prepared two fully fleshed out courses of action for COU's armed forces with reasoning and tactics for each which gave me as the Consul options to choose or modify when plotting out the future of the Clan's military. The amount of research and care that went into this project is evident in the final product which became the core of the Odanite Expeditionary Force.

Most recently Arch worked with myself and the Clan Taldryan summit on the Desperate Measures coop event. Arch helped develop the plot and all 16 comps and graded four of the more labor intensive ones (poetry, coop fiction, run-on and solo fiction). He has proven himself more than capable of functioning at the Clan level and organizing multi-Clan events. I sleep well at night knowing if I got hit by a bus, Arch could keep COU moving forward without missing a beat.

In addition to his exceptional leadership record, Arch has a strong record as an individual member. He has organized 20 competitions and co-organized another 3. He has participated in 139 competitions (with an additional 14 container competitions) bringing home an impressive 70 Crescents. He was selected twice for the prestigious Seal of Loyalty. In that same period he has also collected 30 Clusters of Fire, 19 Clusters of Ice, 25 Clusters of Earth, 14 Clusters of Graphite.

Please accept this small token of our gratitude on behalf of Clan Odan-Urr and the entire brotherhood for everything you do.

Alethia is the one person I would consider my second within the ACC staff currently. Not only is he the most tenured, he also brings a contrasting opinion that often challenges my own in the best of ways. While the dreaded beast of real life has often threatened to inhibit his ability to complete matches, he has still always made time to dive deep into any and all conversations. He has even gone so far as to take the initiative in preparing statistical spreadsheets analyzing the year's ACC matches thus far. This was done without prompting and was useful in providing fact-based anecdotes for event decisions.

In terms of raw judgements, each taking anywhere between an hour and 3 hours for most judges, Alethia has completed 6 since his last merit. At the same time, he has managed to handle 5 qualification exams. That's a great deal of help considering we shoot for close to 24 hours on our turn around times. He doesn't just gloss over these exams, however. He provides detailed analysis on par with what he brings to his actual judgements. His feedback is invaluable to new members just starting out in the ACC and ensures that everyone is at the right place to start from and enjoy the experience.

For this dedication to ensuring not just good work, but quality feedback and an opportunity of learning for the members, I am honored to append my recommendation to ensure Alethia gets the recognition he deserves. Keep on being a good judge and a better teacher. Glad to have you on the team.

God I have know Arch now for well over 2 years now and he has not stopped impressing me since the first time we met. it was a honor to be his recruiter and Master when he first joined the DJB. To say he was a easy student would do him a vast disservice because when he joined all the way up to today Arch has given everything he ever done his all.

He is definitely one of the best leaders COU has and it's been a pleasure to watch him not only move up in ranks but also take on new positions and excel at them as well. I think one of his best qualities is that no matter how high and the food chain he gets he always remains humble and is always there to help any and every member that needs it. No matter their rank, position or clan.

On more than a few occasions he has been the voice of reason for me when i needed someone to vent to by first telling me to stop being a idiot (PG Version) and they explaining what I'm not seeing and being there to give great advice and help.

Since others how more than accounting for your impressive numbers I'm here to say that your interpersonal skills are almost second to none and I'm more than proud to call you a friend! I'm even prouder to help award you your very first Sacramental Award in the DJB! Congratulations!

Ghost Edgar Drachen, 2017-06-22 23:58:36 UTC

Archenksova is an outstanding example of a truly helpful individual. He does it in large ways, such as his Clan projects, and then he often does it in so many small ways that shouldn't be forgotten.

I remember when I first met him back when I was in CSP. A few things stood out to me. One, he was so willing to help develop my character and write with me. It wasn't for a crescent or any measurable activity, but it was to help a fellow club member. Two, he has provided several people help in their writing efforts, including proofing and a willingness to engage in ACC battles. Last but not least, he willingly engages in anything that can help the clan, whether it be answering a silly Odan-Urr Clan daily fiction question, helping out the 'pups' with ACC info, or being an awesome cheerleader.

These are but a few examples, but what is most impressive is how long he continues to do it. Leadership can be trying, but he keeps giving all he's got. I greatly appreciate Archensova's efforts and truly believe he is a key member of this Clan. As such, I think that a Sapphire Blade is well deserved.

Armad is a dark horse. He's quiet, unassuming and doesn't feel the need to be the centre of attention.

Yet, he is tenacious, full of love for the Club and is always eager to volunteer to help me in any way possible.

Since his last recognition, Armad has participated in 162 competitions, placing in 56 of them! In addition, Armad has earned 127 Clusters of Fire, 320 Clusters of Earth and 28 Clusters of Ice for his troubles.

Add to this, the 10,000 words he's written for ROs and ACCs and the 10 SA courses he's completed and Armad shows just how hard he works. Each time a competition ends, I expect to see Armad's name in the top 5.

This isn't all Armad does. He works on our Wiki pages, updating and editing them without being asked to. He helps after events, working out word counts & post counts for ROs, making it easier for us to reward the members. He encourages others to participate and compete, despite not being summit.

Armad is an example of what I expect from a veteran Equite. Armad is loyal to his Clan, his Club and is someone I admire.

For his hard work, I'd like to reward Armad with this Sapphire Blade.

Congratulations!

Sometimes you have those who are flashy, sometimes you have those who are loud. You have your prolific gamers, those who positively bleed fiction, your graphics junkies, and the like. Then you have what I would term your "quieter" members. Those who take part in events offered, those who gently ask what help the Summit needs, those who continuously develop their characters even when not always straight in the spotlight. These are some of our more dedicated members, our work horses, our "old faithful" members.

Armad is one of these. That which Armad sets out to do, he does well. Actually, as I looked at his metrics, I am kind of amazed at how frankly humble Armad is given how much he has accomplished over these months. Despite the recognition he has gotten in the past for his work, he still keeps pushing on. And pushing. If nothing else, I believe that hard work deserves some recognition. I hope that Armad will accept this token from us all of our gratitude. Humbly, I join my voice in recommendation for Armad to receive this Sapphire Blade.

IT keeps getting better! Armad is such a great person. Always willing to help out whenever and wherever he can. I am so glad that it was a easy talk to get him to come over to the Hawks. He is another great addition to the team and you only want to have about five more of him on the team.

Another member you can continually count on and add to the prestige of the team. A accomplished writer and gamer/participant for the team and house. How could you not want to recommend him for such a great award. It is my honor to add to this recommendation. Thank you Sir!

Adept DarkHawk Sadow, 2017-06-14 18:01:00 UTC

I wish to recommend Armad for the Sapphire Blade. His work ethic over the last several months has been next to outstanding and from always jumping up to offer his help when projects are on the go to taking part in everything he can I have to say it truly leaves most in the dirt for activity. When I was Aedile under Tasha we were undertaking a Marka Ragnos wiki revamp and it’s truly thanks to Armad stepping up and getting involved that a dozen of our pages were gone over, edited and made up to date. An exact list of the pages updated at the time is sadly not to hand but he streamlined the majority of our unit and history pages bringing them up to scratch with the then current time frame.

Since Armad’s last merit he’s participated in 162 competitions, including every major clan and House event to date. Placing numerous times in both Clan, House and more often than not in club wide competitions. Earning a grand total of 53 Crescents (8 Emerald, 11 Sapphire, 20 Amethyst, 13 Ruby and 1 Diamond.) This figure means he places in ⅓ competitions he enters in giving him an extremely high turn around for wins to participation ratio. On top of this, he has been an avid gamer earning a total of 320 CEs and 139 CF’s from a total of 26 PvP matches and 5 PvE activities. As well as picking up a Dark Side Scroll and Seal of Loyalty for this service to Naga Sadow.

Fictionally Armad has been featured half a dozen times and his character development has been one I have enjoyed viewing. He himself has participated in 10 fiction activities tallying up a cool 30 Clusters of Ice, 7988 words and in run-ons cracked out 6 posts with a tally of 3445 words.

This award is a long time coming and though I cannot personally submit it I would like to thank Armad for his dedication and hard work and truly look forward to seeing what else he can pull out of the hat.

Well done!

Braecen has continued his long streak of insane activity and effort over these last several months. Since the end of January he had moved over to Scholae Palatinae, taking up the position of Quaestor, and has proceeded to melt faces with a relentless onslaught of leadership and general member activity.

Immediately after being appointed Quaestor, Braecen was in contact with all of his house, introducing himself and his long term plans to make Excidium a rock solid unit. He has been continually incredibly transparent with his house in regular email updates about everything going on and the reasons for his actions.

Alongside this, he managed to pull in multiple former CSPers to return to active duty in the clan. Not only bringing the back into the fold, but helping utilize their long history of experiences in the club to give educational feedback both on gaming and fiction writing. He himself has gone out of his way to find out what systems and games everyone in the clan plays on, and has offered to help members learn to play these games in regularly scheduled gaming sessions for the whole clan. These growing bonds between members have incredibly strengthened our abilities as a clan. Braecen has even been working toward having regular “CSP Movie Nights” where the clan can stream watch a movie together.

As part of the general summit for the clan, Braecen has been responsible for a lot of things less easily seen by the members. He has gone to great lengths to help strengthen Lexiconus and Alara’s abilities as leaders. With his long history of club leadership, he has helped show them how to better review members activity, and gauge when they should be awarded and for what level. He has also helped to train on how to write stronger recommendations in the first place. He has shown how to maintain a easy system of contact with his unit to showcase all manner of club activities, far beyond just a regular monthly report.

Braecen has continued to push for development of his house in great detail, helping to truely reform how the house functions. Over the last three months Braecen has gone on to strengthen Excidium to an incredible level of activity, beyond which had ever been seen in the house before. He has taken his leadership philosophies to constantly give input and feedback on how everyone on the CSP leadership team can do better at what we do. While I know its been frustrating at times, and that he and I don’t necessarily agree on every decision made in the clan, there is no doubting his intense passion, and that his methods are what works best for how he leads. The results have been fantastic.

Braecen has been the driving force in giving Excidium a real identity again. He has also been a great sounding board for parts of our on going project to work on the new CSP system, including the name of the main planet in the system, Seraph.

Braecen doesn’t slouch on the membership front either. He takes the concept of leading from the front extremely literal. Since January 22nd Braecen has gone on to participate in a whopping 86 different competitions including a second place finish in our recently finished Excursions event. He has been an organizer on 14 further competitions, and has pushed to ensure there is always a wide array of summit and member run competitions for the clan and for Excidium. He has also passed 2 SA games, and been part of 21 PvE events.

This activity has earned him 1 Ruby Star, 3 Amethyst Stars, 3 Sapphire Stars, 2 Topaz Stars, 1 Quartz Stars, 430 Clusters of Fire, 16 Clusters of Ice, 2 Clusters of Earth, 22 Clusters of Graphite.

Braecen has hit out more over the last few months then many long time members can do over a year. Both his activity levels, and leadership impact on Scholae Palatinae have been monumental. For this I recommend he be awarded this Sapphire Blade. Congratulations Braecen! Drinks are on you!

Working with Braecen Kaeth has been a tremendous honor and an amazing learning opportunity. He has not only developed further unity in our clan by hosting social events such as gaming, movie-watching, and project planning, but he has also sat in countless times to proofread, train, and encourage our members. He looks for the best traits in everyone and helps them build their potential. He's always challenging us to reach higher and to open our creativity to new realms. If we had more men like Braecen the world would be a much better place. Thanks for everything you do, Master.

Alara Deathbane

Aedile of Excidium

Alara Deathbane, 2017-05-12 21:47:38 UTC

When Braecen began here as Quaestor, he had a large goal and duty in mind for Excidium. To increase and promote a solid, active and engaging house. He approached me with a multitude of ideas to support inter-house cohesion, with co-hosting competitions, promoting weekly activity and being a constant voice in Telegram. Together, as a team, we have done so.

We have host three competitions together, all about improving your society rank and effort, and they haven’t failed us, rallying members from both houses with ease. Braecen also sends emails on an almost daily basis, just to show his members how much work they have done. Finally, together with his Aedile Alara, they have laughed, stood their ground and supported those, regardless of their clan, in the Telegram channel we use.

Overall, Braecen is a steel-minded Quaestor. With an astute and resourceful method of leading, Excidium wouldn’t be the same without his guidance.

Congratulations buddy, you deserve it!!

Quaestor of House Imperium

Dr. Lexiconus Qor, 2017-05-13 15:09:15 UTC

Braecen has immediately bought a sense of clarity and organisation to House Excidium. He has worked tirelessly to form a consistent vision and identity to his house, to give it a sense of fictional purpose in place of the mess of incoherent ideas it had become. Not only that, Braecen goes out of his way to help other units, and has been a great source of strength in aiding Lexiconus in auditing his members for promotions and medals.

For his fantastic leadership and organisational skills, combined with high raw activity on his own part, we're delighted to have Braecen on our summit team, and to congratulate him on this award.

General Zentru'la, 2017-05-14 10:51:35 UTC

Braecen has been a pleasure to work with. A strong member of the Clan, he is someone always looking to improve not only himself, but, his fellow members, his fellow leaders, and the Clan as a whole. Everything he does, is a stride in that direction. He has a vision and knows just how he wants to get there, and help everyone along with him towards those ends. He has been a powerful influence upon his Aedile, Alara Deathbane, who has become that much stronger a leader because of him. He is organized, always planning, sharing, and helping his clanmates. We can all benefit from the sheer organizational skills he has brought to the Clan.

Braecen. As always. It is a pleasure working with you, and an honour to have you. You deserve this award.

Since being appointed Praetor to the Voice back in October of 2016, Kasula (Also known as A'lora or simply "Moro"), Moro has spent the last 7 months diligently operating as my head administrative aide. In this capacity alone, Moro has lead the charge on staff with 111 Character Sheet approvals, my prime metric that I track. This does not include the countless time spent working with members one on one on their sheets, whether that is through repeated remand comments or personal follow ups with the members. He has been instrumental in educating and guiding the newer Magistrate's, and works with them to stay on top of the competition queue. Moro is so on top of the CS and Competition queue (the two primary administrative duties of a Voice Staff member), that I honestly haven't had to do any administrative work save for larger events like Co-Ops. It is a pleasure to come home from work, work on the larger projects that occupy my awareness, and then know that the queue will be handled without me having to do anything.

Beyond this, Moro proof reads any documentation I come up with and weighs in. He has been a contributor to the Fiction Center, Loadouts, NPCs, DB Canon and many other Voice Staff wikipedia articles and pages. He also handles a lot of small but important niche tasks such as handling the image assets/formatting for new Species headshots as well as Venues.

Moro's true masterpiece, however, lies in the Arx system document. Moro took the project that had been partially finished, took Sarin and I's direction/guidelines and created a brand new world that will soon serve as the new center of power and home of the Brotherhood. Moro helped write up, name, and invent the various continents, structures, venues, and places of interest that for the planet, as well as climate and other logistics. While this article is not published for variables outside of Moro's control, the completed project has been approved by the Grand Master.

Most importantly for me, Moro is an active voice in the Voice Staff chat and tackles any random task that I come up with and never complains. This level of dedication allows me to my job better, and his loyalty to the Brotherhood over this time period is unquestionable. For this reason, I am pleased to award this Sapphire Blade. Congratulations, Moro. Thank you for putting up with me and rocking whatever tasks I throw your way. I appreciate it.

Drawing graphics for the Dark Brotherhood in any official capacity can be, at the least, a very stressful job, but at best it is entirely fulfilling for the people who do it for the sake of others. Zehsaa is one of those people. Even before she was my magistrate, I knew Zehsaa had the will and wish to complete breathtaking artwork for others. Those qualities followed her through our Art chat and her own Clan as well. She has drawn many cute, serious, silly, funny, and endearing drawings for many people around the Club, including myself, and she has only transferred that determination into her job as Magistrate.

Since the start, Zehsaa has been working on member requests, for weapons and robes alike, as well as bi-monthly releases. In her, nearly 11-month-long stay in the Herald’s office, Zehsaa has completed a multitude of projects and graphics which include ten custom weapons and three custom robes done personally for our members, six beautiful robes, one weapon, and one accessory for the selector and two logos for the major position logo project we have released a few months ago. All in all, Zehsaa has completed 125 images just for the Heralds office.

Zehsaa’s influence, goodwill, and expertise didn’t stop there, as she has been very active in developing our Art community through the DB Art chat. She is regularly seen posting new and exciting artwork for every challenge issued by our staff and she is a regular participant in all graphics comps, Clan or Club-wide. Her knowledge of art has been beneficial to many members, actively or passively teaching them how to become better artists.

I am proud to have had Zehsaa as my Magistrate, I am sad that she is leaving the office, but I am also humbled by her spirit and her generosity, so with a level head and utmost gratitude I give this small token of appreciation to Zehsaa Hysh. Thank you for your outstanding work.

Master Selika Roh di Plagia
Primary reason

Ronovi Tavisaen is a member that has recently made her presence known in Plagueis once again, having returned to full activity levels for the first time in a few years. On either side of that gap, however, Ronovi has put up the sort of activity numbers and leadership work that many who were active for the entire intervening time have not matched. Now that she's made a more permanent return, it is my duty to put her name forward for the awarding of a Sapphire Blade.

In all, since her last recognition, Ronovi has been put together enviable levels of activity. She has participated in 136 competitions (a number I know that does not count some of her early Crusade entries that never made it onto the website) and placed in 28 of them. Those placements have earned her 6 Gold Novae, 4 Bronze Novae, 2 Diamond Crescents, 5 Ruby Crescents, 6 Amethyst Crescents, 3 Sapphire Crescents, 2 Emerald Crescents, and 3 Legions of the Scholar. She has 5 fiction activities for a total of 10,689 words (numbers I know are both under reporting her true total as much of her activity was not tracked by the site at the time), and 27 Clusters of Ice. She has also earned 3 Clusters of Fire and 5 Clusters of Earth as she begins to bring gaming activity into her repertoire and 6 of the new Clusters of Graphite for her graphics. As for Seals, she has earned 1 of Loyalty, 23 of the Crusader, and 7 of Reminisce. She received a rare non-mastor mentoring related Scroll of the Master, for helping Brimstone grow as a member of the Brotherhood beyond simply reaching the rank of Knight. And, as befiting a former Headmaster who is always looking to expand her education, she passed 11 SA courses and earned 2 of the then-new Dark Pundit degrees. Finally, as a leader she filed all 7 of her monthly reports during her tenure as Aedile and Quaestor, and ran a fiction event for the 2013 Independence Games.

Moreso than the raw numbers, however, is what those numbers mean in context. Ronovi wasn't just stacking up random mobile gaming or Trivia competitions, she was really showing up when it mattered. Throughout the third, fourth, and fifth rounds of the Dark Crusade, Ronovi entered 14 of the available 16 events (some of which aren't even tracked on the website), placing 1st in round 3 wiki, 1st in round 4 fiction, poetry, and RO, and 3rd in round 5 fiction, multimedia, and battleplan. Additionally, intervening between the rounds of the Crusade Ronovi entered seven events during the Independence Games and helped get out the entries for House Plagueis during that time. In addition to her own individual placements, she served as either Plagueis Aedile or Quaestor for that time, helping Plagueis continue to win rounds that would eventually lead to our House's victory in the Dark Crusade. The individually-focused member engagement she helped foster both through her own actions and through the guidance she provided to her fellow leaders was invaluable to creating the mindset in the House that everyone needed to compete to their fullest, and that victory was a very real possibility. Ensuring that the Plagueis leadership used one on one engagement and a personalized approach to their members made sure that people were not disengaged as mass-email messages would often do. As a leader in one of the top two summit positions in Plagueis for longer than any other person, her contributions cannot be understated. Following her most recent return back to Plagueis, Ronovi hit the competitive ground running and got back to where she had been during the Dark Crusade. In our just completed The Enemy Below event, Ronovi participated in 23 of the 24 possible events. Competitively, she earned 1st place finishes in all three Fiction events, Poetry, Logic Puzzle, and week 2 Cryptogram, 2nd place finishes in week 1 Cryptogram and Crawl Creator, and 3rd place in week 2 Flash Gaming 1. All told, Ronovi scored 202 total points and finished in first place for the event.

Ronovi Tavisaen is the last of the major contributors to Clan Plagueis's victory in the Dark Crusade that, due to her absence, has not received their due recognition for their contributions. Montressor, Tra'an Reith, Brimstone, Teylas, Eiko, Furios Morega, Arden Karn, and even myself have already taken home the spoils of that Vendetta, either in the form of Sacramental awards or Equite promotions. It gives me great joy to spend the time writing this recommendation and to be the one who finally submits it for consideration, one last piece of unfinished business from nearly three and a half years gone. You fought well for this back during the Crusade, and you have fought well for it in the several months before now. I, and Clan Plagueis, thank you for your contributions, may they continue making a lasting contribution to your adopted home.

Additional reasons

When the Dark Crusade began, I was Quaestor of then House Plagueis. Ronovi was one of our leading scorers, and churned out incredible finishes, but Slagar has already spoken of that.

I'm here to speak of Ronovi the person, Ronovi the member, Ronovi the leader by by example.

In the Brotherhood, we often run into fatigue when running competitions of any extended length. The Dark Crusade was a constant battle for member uptime and contribution. Ronovi not only contributed, and led by example, but did so with good cheer and good poise.

Whether it was through IRC or through Email, Ronovi was always there to encourage people. She offered to proof read fictions, help troubleshoot ideas, and to be around so that other members could use her as a sounding board.

Despite the long lapse in her presence, NOTHING has changed.

Ronovi the member still leads quietly by example. She still offers to help others, to be available to others, and to cheer on the teams from the front lines, without ever being seen as bragging. She's humble, always cheering for the team to do well, encouraging participation in "doing all the things", and helping to ensure that all members, new and old, know that they have someone they can count on.

In our most recent event, despite repeatedly placing in the top spot, Ronovi kept encouraging others to keep fighting, to keep trying. It inspired Laren Uscot to really pull out all the stops in his week 3 fiction. And while he didn't win, he still felt inspired because of her attitude and camaraderie.

And I quote, "@Ronovi dominating. Love it! Be like Ronnie. But be warned: I'm coming for that fiction title this week. ;)"

Its this persistent leading through example that encourages others and supports the Brotherhood and helps to make sure that all members know that not only is participation is important, but possible!

Ronovi is a shining beacon of activity and we are so very glad to have her return to Plagueis as an active member, leading by example in more ways than one.

Ronovi, I'm proud to be able to finally sign off on this award that you have so richly deserved for so very long.

Reaver Tra'an Reith di Plagia, 2017-04-16 09:53:39 UTC

Ronovi has thoroughly proven to be one of the most invaluable members of Clan Plagueis over the years. She has shown outstanding work and dedication, both as an active and competitive member and as a capable and inspiring leader in the Ascendant Clan (and formerly House). Between her meritable actions during the Dark Crusade and her powerful return during The Enemy Below, Ronovi has diligently worked hard for this.

When the Dark Crusade was in full swing, the Clan was steadily racking up victories and no competitor was more present than Ronovi. Although she won a significant tally of Novae in that event, her best contribution to the clan was her dedication to aiding and encouraging her fellow Plagueians. As is mentioned in Slagar's recommendation, the Dark Crusade resulted in many rewards for the clan, including my own Equite 2 promotion. Slagar may talk about her competitive excellence in numbers, but what I will say of Ronovi is this: of all the members and leaders that drove our momentum in the Dark Crusade, she made one of the biggest impacts on how I developed as a member and who I am in the Brotherhood today. The longer I think about it, the more I'm truly grateful to Ronovi for her inspiration, motivation, and general awesomeness during that time.

In her more recent return, Ronovi has also shown her excellence and dedication to Clan Plagueis with her victory during The Enemy Below, the recent clan event. Completing all but one of the 24 competitions during the three weeks, she once again acted as a bastion of activity and strength in the clan, picking up exactly where she left off after the Dark Crusade. A testament to her determination and capabilities, Ronovi advanced from a respectable fourth place to a first place hold that lasted into a narrow finish that required several tie breakers. She i an amazing competitor and asset to the clan. It's for these imperative qualities that I am ecstatic to offer my additional recommendation for her well-deserved, long-overdue Sapphire Blade.

Battlemaster Dracaryis had the unenviable role of assuming the position of Fist following a tumultuous turnover in the administration sections of the Fist Office. Drac was being considered for multiple positions across the DJB at the time, but his ability to communicate in clear terms made him an exceptionally appealing candidate to lead our club's gaming into the future.

Drac has accomplished nearly every small goal task we set out for him upon assuming the role of Fist. He has reviewed CF balancing, he has conducted new game testing, and he has streamlined the communication between our members and the DC (19 News Updates and over 57 news comments). He has also accomplished the primary task we expect from our Fist: He runs competitions. Between his previous roles and his current, Drac has organized over 45 competitions and has co-organized over 100. These competitions have varied and run the full spectrum of our club's gaming activities.

Drac's work on the DC has been phenomenal thus far and we look forward to his future work. Please accept this SB from Deputy Grand Master Mav and I.
