I was going to recommend this award for Ma'ar before he stepped down as QUA of Tridens, but now it makes it even more important. There's a lot one could say about Ma'ar and I hope that I do him justice with this recommendation. When Ma'ar became QUA of Tridens, the house was arguably in a rather uneasy state. It was going through various house summit changes rather quickly. Ma'ar was a stabalizing force for the house. His take no prisoners leadership helped ensure that Tridens remained a force to be reckoned with. He kept the house in tip-top shape: He encouraged older members to stay active and his work with the new members, both in the capacity of QUA and Envoy was top rate work. It is not often that someone gets to be someone's superior in three aspects of the Brotherhood, but I have done so with Ma'ar. I was his PCON, the KCB, and the Praetor to the Headmaster. I have seen Ma'ar excel in everything that was thrown his way and then some.

Ma'ar's personal activity level, especially in the Obelisk RoS, has also been outstanding, constantly on IRC, e-mail, and gaming. He led both in word and deed. In his own words, Ma'ar may have stepped on some toes in his time as Questor, but it was part of what made him a great leader. He didn't accept "no" from those under his command, or from himself, and he is without a doubt one of the most active, dedicated members of Clan Tarentum. When one person does so much, it is sometimes hard to see it all when you are in the middle of it. Having taken a step back, I can look at everything as a whole. This award is specifically for consistent service that is recognized on the whole, and Ma'ar most certainly has earned it.

In the wake of the recent Obelisk Rite of Supremacy, no one in the Brotherhood can argue Dinaari’s dominance. When you look into why this is true, you come upon a sometimes quiet but always hardworking Quaestor behind the scenes. Benevolent Whiner has spent his entire time in the Brotherhood in Taldryan. He has worked his way up, from Battle Team member to leader, then to Aedile for almost a year, and most recently as Quaestor for six months. His smooth but relentless leadership style is a perfect fit for his House. He mixes high levels of personal activity with a drive that ignites his House to perform.

On top of his House leadership, Ben has been the Clan summits go-to guy for nearly all of our projects. He is always available to help, especially when our ideas need to be codified. He personally updates and upgrades the Taldryan website, which is an immense responsibility itself. Throughout all of this work he never complains, he just gets it done. He is probably the single most productive leader work-wise in the entire Clan. Without Ben we wouldn’t be able to realize half of the projects that make Taldryan the Clan it is today. For having been in Taldryan as long as he has, Duga was sort of a Dark Horse for a long time. He was always pretty consistently active, but it wasn’t until probably a year ago he emerged as a real force in the Clan. Since then he has been absolutely unstoppable, both as a member and as a leader. Personally I’ve learned I can count on him to do whatever is asked of him, to do it promptly, and to do it well. He’s an incredibly active gamer as well, and he doesn’t just go out and 5-0 people, he always spends some time to help them out. House Dinaari’s success can be tied to his efforts, as he works with Benevolent to make sure they dominate the Brotherhood. Dark Sabre just won’t go away. Being completely honest, that is his best trait, because his drive to succeed and expand into anything and everything he can is what makes him an incredible member and leader. I remember when Dark Sabre burst onto the Taldryan scene and immediately came to be the most active member I’d seen in a very long time. And the best part? He never hit the wall, he just kept on going. And that has been his story ever since. I can always count on Dark Sabre to volunteer for anything offered, be his most active when he is most needed, and generally contribute to the well being of the entire Brotherhood. As a leader of House Ektrosis, he has demonstrated time and time again that he is one of the best Quaestors in the Brotherhood, and his efforts have won Taldryan many a title. The best envoy in the entire Brotherhood - that is the new title I give Xuthen. For years she has served as an envoy in the Clan, and recently she has been acting as Clan envoy. When she was house envoy she did a brilliant job with the new recruits in Dinaari, bringing in several to the Brotherhood and convincing many others that they should actually become active. Since becoming Clan envoy she has continued to perform these duties incredibly well, but on top of that she has been in-charge of the House envoys, and has worked with them incredibly well. I can’t believe that anyone does a better job than she does. Beyond that she is an amazing Clan member in general. She always stays in contact with her leaders, she’s probably the best communicator in the entire Clan (moreso than the leaders even!). She participates in competitions and can always be counted on to help out when the Clan needs assistance. She has a great IRC presence as well, and can generally be found hanging out quite a bit where new members are to be found. Xuthen should have been rewarded for these efforts a long time ago, but I feel that giving her a Sapphire Blade now almost makes up for it. Congratulations! (CON Kir’s Departure Awards)

In February of 2005, Sith Battlelord Vessicant was hired to the staff of the ACC as a Trainer. The job of a trainer is not an easy one, and anyone who has held the position with any semblance of dedication and effort can tell you that. It requires a fair hand in the instruction of members who might not be fully aware of what the ACC entails. It requires firmness in developing the structure of an individual to a level where they are fit to compete amongst the populace of the Brotherhood and it requires the 'love of the game' and the willingness to see others excel - all before an individual is even Qualified. When they are ready, combatants face the Trainer again to qualify, requiring the Trainer to remove the mask of mentorship in lieu of scrutiny and judgment. This necessity often puts Trainers on opposing sides of what once existed as a 'Master/Student' atmosphere while, at the same time, seeing first hand if they Trained the combatant properly. All of these things SBL Vessicant does, and continues to do, flawlessly. He is minimal effort to maintain, requiring no handholding and only the occasional bit of advice. I wish I had more exactly like him, but he's an original. In his time, from February to August, Vessicant has been responsible for the Training or Qualification of over 65 Brotherhood members - almost 10 individuals a month. He is constantly turning out great products and knowledgeable combatants into the populace and is, by far, one of my best assets. As if that weren't enough, Vessicant has single-handedly guided my hand in the construction of the ACC Compendium (Rebirth Version). Not by hand, not by graphic or coding, but by information, insight and a willingness to challenge 'the norm'. His input on things so simple as the use of a specific weapon type have completely revamped what we had always accepted as 'givens' because of his analytical approach.

DJK Kat Pridemore: "Vess is willing to help out, whenever he's around. He has been a trainer for a long time, and is very good at his position. He deserves to be honored for all his hard work."

This award is awarded for: Consistent service to one's Clan or Order which does not render recognition until seen as a whole. It is often awarded as a medal for multiple services over a long period of time. A single combatant who is trained then qualifies is hardly worth such a high honor. However, when that single combatant enters a battle, a ladder match, or any situation where there are ACC combatants, they are in the midst of the products of ACC Trainers. An indispensable position and one that SBL Vessicant has fulfilled with determination, loyalty and honor for over six months to the tune of 65+ members of the Dark Jedi Brotherhood.

There is nothing that I can give that can fully express my gratitude to the Battlelord. His presence and work ethic are among the best I've seen, and it is my honor to recommend him for the Sapphire Blade.

Following recommendation from the meeting of the Inner Circle for the Conclave of the month of July 2005 we would like to request the presentation of the Sapphire Blade to Krath Epis Muz Ashen Keibatsu.

This recommendation comes following Muz’s tremendous service to Clan Naga Sadow not only as Proconsul of the Clan but Quaestor and Aedile before it.

The Obelisk High Commander has extended his consent to this award and has the following to say:

There are few in the DB who do as much as Muz. He is constantly working on one project or the other, designing lightsabers, and being PCON in the middle of that all. When I left for the DC, and when Malik retired, Muz and Goat filled up the new summit. and Muz adapted quite well. Even though I am no longer in the clan, I do still keep an eye on it, and only see good things. I think Muz more then deserves this reward. I normally am one for long speeches but with Muz it would not give him credit as I would be sure to miss something. Needless to say he is a tremendous asset to the Clan and will make a fine Consul one day. His work extends not only as a leader but as an active and enthusiastic member and a great aid to other parts of the Dark Brotherhood with his work both on independent projects such as lightsaber designs and on more important matters such as his work for Project: Rebirth.

He is a great aid and a fantastic Proconsul, and one would not be far wrong in saying he is probably the best Proconsul I have had the pleasure of serving with in my collective tenures as Consul. In many ways his help is irreplaceable and I do not know what the Clan would do without his help.

The Inner Circle would therefore like to unanimously request the presentation of Krath Epis Muz Ashen Keibatsu with the Sapphire Blade. While even this award does not do him credit it is the least we can do as a token of our gratitude and appreciation for his continued service.

Following recommendation from the meeting of the Inner Circle for the Conclave of the month of July 2005 we would like to request the presentation of the Sapphire Blade to Krath Archpriest Manji Nekura Keibatsu.

This recommendation comes in light of many things, not least Manji’s service as Quaestor, and earlier Aedile, of House Marka Ragnos. His services have not only caught the eye of members within the Clan but also outside. His work as an Operator for the Antei Combat Center is easily recognisable by most.

His services have not gone unnoticed by the Obelisk High Commander who also adds the following recommendation:

When I left CNS for the Dark Council, I knew CNS would do well with the new leadership. And he proved me right. Under his leadership, the house became one of the most active in the DB. New active battleteams have formed, and many good things have come from the house. For all his work, I think he deserves this reward. Manji currently runs one of the most successful Houses in the Dark Brotherhood, one which continues to grow, fosters new members with ease, and is seeing many of the rising stars emerge from its folds. Nearly all the big names of Clan Naga Sadow who continue to have their names in lights are members of the House that Manji runs tremendously. This is especially noticeable given the extended period of absence of his Aedile, leaving him to have had to lead his House almost independently since being appointed Quaestor.

His work since I came to the position of Consul have been impossible to ignore and it is for that that I, with the support of the Inner Circle, request he be presented with an award of that calibre to signify this fact. We therefore wish to present Manji with the Sapphire Blade.

Though recently promoted, Korras has served his clan well. He has stepped up to the plate and taken on more than just the duties of PCON, he has been the acting CON while CNS's Consul was ill and has continually been in service to the DB, whether as PCON or as Praetor to the Lord Marshal or Commander of the Guard. Korras puts more energy into his duties that I have seen in a member in a long time. I am honored to award him this medal, a Sapphire Blade.
