For the last half year, Wally has played a major role in helping to implement RP as a regular DB activity. As the club's second Exarch, he led his staff through long, data-intensive discussions and analysis of how DBers have been RPing in order to develop milestones for the new Envoy Corps. Wally worked closely with James to define an entirely new dual-track "supplementary society" using the preexisting trophy system. The final product is something unique in the club but still connected to all of our other systems.
I also need to add that last year Wally helped lead a small team in rewriting and modernizing the Consul's Handbook. It was not nearly as large a project as the Envoy Corps, but it required sifting through an extremely outdated manual to find the good bits and then rewrite and reorganize the rest. All in all, great work, Wally!

Make a society. Well, not a "society." I don't know, some sort of incentive structure where when people do stuff they get stuff. You'll figure something out. It should be tiered, unless it shouldn't. See what James thinks. Oh, maybe there could be two of them? It definitely needs to have all the society stuff. We'll just call it a pillar or something. Oh, we can't do two of them, way too many credits. They'd have to be half sized. And this is a society, the other ones are pillars. Maybe just do one track but make sure it covers GMing and participating. And this isn't a society, we were being metaphorical when we called the other ones pillars. This can't be a society anyway, the INQ already covers CI stuff. What? This is why you thought it shouldn't be on the CI in the first place? But it's just fiction. No, we can't just use the INQ, RP isn't just fiction, it needs its own thing. But James says it has to be its own two things using the trophy system because otherwise it'll be a nightmare to code.
I suspect when people saw the Envoy Corps launch, they thought that the hard part was, you know, the Envoy Corps. The lore, the unlocks, the progression, that stuff. As the person who dumped this task on Wally's lap, I can say authoritatively that all that was the easy part, not least because he had a lot of help. The hard part was actually getting the thing done. Every tiniest aspect was picked apart and debated, including what the goal was, if it was happening, how we were even allowed to talk about it. The rewards themselves went through no fewer than three separate approval processes: Voice for the feats, Regent for the items, Herald for the dossier skins. The whole thing had all of those people (and the DC at large and the Exarch staff and other helpers) weighing in on the overall design, and then James reviewing it to make sure it was actually doable. Almost all of those people are opinionated, busy, and have their own equities to manage. At every single point in the process, things had the potential to stall but only the Exarch was going to keep it moving.
I spent six months talking through the stupid thing without even truly getting started. In that amount of time, Wally was able to gently shoo me away and then get the entire project designed and launched, and now I'm joining sessions and interacting with other members I don't even know just so I can get some sweet sweet Envoy Marks. Lasting impact achieved.

I come hither to bear witness unto the deeds and capabilities of Marick Tyris, aka Wally, aka Boo-boo Bear. Sir Wall has done phenomenal work for Club and Clan, as clearly conveyed by my commenting compatriots, so my care is to give just cause by conveyance of competitions, Crescents, and Clusters. And you have no idea how happy I am that our system supported that alliteration.
Since his last recognition last January, Wallball participated in a solid eighty competitions, not including containers or brackets (which would bring it up to eighty nine), averaging just shy of six competitions per month. Depending on which number you go with, his eighteen Crescents and four Novae give him a rough average of 25% placement rate. This mathematical wizardry tells us that not only does he like to #doallthethings, he also puts out solid products. What's more, twenty seven of those competitions were pure Vendetta material as evidenced by his Seals of Ascension. Completionist energy, yo.
Now, for a guy that has done so much to stand up the Brotherhood's roleplay society, it comes as absolutely no surprise that Wallson — again, in only a little over a year — has cranked out a tremendous 90,798 words of fiction (for comparison, The Hobbit hovers at just over 95 thousand; mull on that poodoo). This has earned him a lovely two hundred ten Clusters of Ice to go with his collection of other Clusters: thirty five of Graphite, eighty two of Earth, and one hundred of Fire. He also earned a Dark Side Scroll for his work on the BT Voidbreaker wiki and getting it as the featured article; and a Scroll of the Master for bringing up our own Mex from tiny newblet to JM4.
Wallker Edgelord Ranger is truly a powerhouse member of Arcona and the Club as a whole, and he very likely deserves more credit than he gets. For now, I hope he appreciates his new shiny beating stick, and the utter shenanigans of this note on his dabalicious self. Thank you, Wally.
Qyreia Arronen
Consul, Clan Arcona
Qyreia Arronen, 2023-04-02 17:19:31 UTC
As a Battleteam Leader, Wally does what he always does, in all he does: goes 110%, Plus Ultra. He regularly put out reports, lead by constant example in participating in every single DB, Clan or House event that came up, minor or major, and always went above and beyond doing as much as he could for his team. Whether this was hosting fictional parties in RP, defining team lore and spirit, promoting and awarding his members, teaching leadership skills and practical competition skills and literally anything else brought up, answering questions, participating in discussion and CREATING discussion and community, being a listening ear and friend...Wally. Does. Everything. Everywhere. All at once. None of us can keep up with him. And we're all grateful for his care, time, and attention, as a leader, advisor, Arconae, member, and friend.
That attention, as attested, is not limited to his BTL role. It has been for the whole Club for the last decade and last year. It's noteworthy that of those written words Q mentions to make Roleplaying a reality in the DB, 31207 of those words were participating for the express purpose of engaging other to participate, and 35001 are from DMing the roleplay itself to create that experience for others. There wouldn't be RP without him. It's a big success in our Clan with his help, and it's wonderful to see it coming to the Club at large too, as I can attest both as an observer and a recent staff member under him.
Thank you for everything, Wally. May this award be another signifier to what comes next.

While the Medal XP system states Zoron has earned this medal through his site activity, I just wanted to add a small bit about Zoron. While his activity is known throughout the brotherhood. I would like to focus on the little things that he has done. Often overlooked are the normal things that make a member a blast to have in a clan. His presence on Discord and generally positive attitude are great to have around. In fact, it is kind of infectious. I don't ever remember him talking badly about other members. He has friends far and wide in this club and perhaps the best part is I have never heard anyone say anything negative about Zoron.
He worked tirelessly as my Proconsul and as stated in my recommendation for his elder promotion. Much of the groundwork he laid during that time is just now starting to produce the results we wanted in Clan Vizsla. I wanted this to be more than just clearing his medal XP because Zoron is more than just competition entries. Congrats on the Ruby Scepter Zoron!

Over the past year, DarkHawk completed capped off a successful term as CNS PCON with a strong showing as Second Clan of the Brotherhood. Shortly after that, Bentre resigned and DH replaced him as Consul. As CON he has kept CNS (and club) busy through dozens of competitions, including the Pro Bowl and a DB-wide holiday event. He's put a solid leadership team in place and the future is bright for CNS.
His personal activity has been astounding. Besides the dozens of competitions he has organized or co-organized, DH also participated in 97 comps, winning nearly 30 crescents. He picked up 725 CFs, 226 CEs, 17 CGs, and 69 CIs based on 27k words of fiction. Congrats, DH!

DarkHawk has been an incredible member of the community, both as a leader, and as a member. Participating in over 100 competitions and organizing several dozen more. It's been great to see him move up the ranks over the years and succeed as a PCON, and now Consul and leader of the Clan. I look forward to seeing him bring that same energy and leadership in the future. Congratulations.

Holy smokes. Korvis. Where to start? Since his promotion only six months ago, this guy (who needs a last name, damn it) has been a force to be reckoned with. He has single handedly re-written and brought up to par two major Regent policies (the Item Aspect Approval Guidelines and Item Prototype Approval Policy) that were woefully out of date with little to no guidance using the knowledge he's acquired in the relatively short span he's been on the staff. Both were on point and exactly what I was looking for. He conducted peer and quality control reviews on our last booster release (over 20 total items when including the clan stuff). He's been an instrumental part of our Capital Ship Upgrades project sitting in Bubba and Evant's inbox (over 100 new items), conducting a peer and quality control review in addition to assisting on what is arguably the most important part of this project given we needed the perfect balance - item pricing.
Korvis also undertook two major reviews by himself, researching canon lightsaber resistant materials and providing an assessment on each for inclusion into our system - and then scouring several stores looking for current and possible lightsaber resistant items to which we could make that instrumental change to, then providing recommendations for each and taking part in our staff discussions on the subject. His research was extremely thorough, valuable, and best of all objective. He's contributed to our newest booster release, which is 95% completed and almost ready for the Overlords.
Korvis, in his full review for additional Book of Boba Fett and The Mandalorian content - in which he's proposed over a dozen new items for addition that he's working on - has rewatched those series four times, taking notes with a notepad. That is some ridiculous dedication, even for me. In my last recommendation for him I stated his Equite 4 promotion wouldn't stop his roll, and I was right. The man continues to impress at every level, and I have no doubt in my mind that with the included recommendations below, Korvis has more than earned this reward. We couldn't ask for a better member.
P.S. pick a last name, Korvis.

Since his promotion in August, Korvis has kept his foot on the gas pedal. He has organized or co-organized over 30competitions, participated in 31, and written roughly 4,000 words of fiction. During that time, Vizsla's membership has grown and its activity as measured by competition participation has been very strong compared to the rest of the club. He has also done a great job picking and motivating his summit and rewarding his members. Keep up the great work, Korvis!
Lord Dacien Victae, 2023-01-05 14:24:31 UTC
Korvis has been an incredible leader of Clan Vizsla, keeping the community involved and updated and helping provide opportunities for fun. The DJB is lucky to have leaders like him willing to devote so much of their time creating these opportunities and just engaging with everyone. Congratulations on your award and thanks for everything you do as a Consul.

Socorra has been a great help to me as Grand Master since joining my staff over half a year ago. Her help in discussing my plans for member experience and where all the various projects I had going were at at organizing and moving things forward has been helpful. While I will let future awards speak for her accomplishments on specific projects, her support of me while continuing to be a rockstar within her Clan have more than proven she has earned this medal. Socorra is one of Arcona’s “old guard” that managed to claw her way out of retirement, and she returned with a vengeance. In raw stats, since her merit recognition in January, she has organized no less than 31 competitions, co-organizing 2, and participating in a staggering 222, 29 of which were from GJW XV as evidenced by her collection of Seals of Ascension. From that, she has collected 54 placements that included a Gold Nova, a Silver Nova, and 5 Bronze Novae. From gaming, she collected 1 Cluster of Fire and 23 Clusters of Earth. Where she really shines though are in fiction and graphics: 122 Clusters of Ice from over 54,000 words of fiction across regular fiction activities and roleplaying, and a staggering 158 Clusters of Graphite from her many quality contributions in the DJB art community. Additionally, she also mentored a newcomer into Knighthood, garnering a Scroll of Indoctrination, plus a Seal of Loyalty for her steadfast dedication to Arcona so soon after her return. Even in the Shadow Academy, she has been particularly busy, cranking out 38 courses and earning 4 SA degrees in the process.
Within the Clan and House, she has worked as Battleteam Leader for the last 8 months to reinvigorate House Galeres by generating a new Battleteam — the Dajorran Marshals, a space-cowboy vigilante group dedicated to patrolling Arcona’s home system — from the prior Spectre Cells Battleteam to which she was originally appointed. In that time, her primary efforts have been to instill a sense of belonging in the BT as well as vigorously generate activity through several large RP efforts. The latter included not only generating story arc material, but also the myriad maps that went with them for the members to reference the course of the plot. This was all in addition to her esoteric work as Praetor to the GM.
Socks has been a welcome return to the Clan. She tackled the learning curve of a long absence, came in swinging, and set herself and others up for success in the process. So thank you, Socks, for all of your hard work.

Qyreia Arronen, 2023-01-03 16:30:25 UTC
Since she has returned to Arcona, Socorra has been a wealth of knowledge to inquiry about leadership skills and guidance to facilitate the betterment and growth of the house. In her return and during this time to share her presence on the Summit, Socorra has assisted in running two house events, Operation Stormfront and The Blindshot Games. She has assisted in preparing and setting up the competitions within both events. She has picked back up the rhythm of being a leader quickly as the Operation Stormfront was just at her appointment of BTL of Dajorran Marshals. Socorra is deserving of the Ruby Scepter by all of her accomplishments previously acknowledged by Qyreia and Nehalem, and the continued dedicated drive to improve membership experience with her hard work as the House Battle Team Leader and throughout DB leadership as the P:GM.

Thran continues to be a force to be reckoned with, no matter what position he's serving (whether as my Praetor or Kamjin's Proconsul) and remains the most instrumental part of my staff. Since I last recognized Thran's contributions, he has continued plugging away at a multitude of projects to make the possessions system better for the entirety of the club.
During the last several months, Thran has:
- Reviewed every current item prototype release to date (dating all the way back to Evant's term) to assign them to a Regent release filter in the prototype research page, over a thousand items, to make it easier for members to filter and search for items from a specific release
- Led the deploy of our third booster release in May, working with Magistrate Korvis. He personally added 10/18 prototypes to the system, did our mandatory quality check on all 18 entries, and stocked each of those items to the store
- Completed, just like Planetary Assets, almost the entirety of the Land Vehicle Upgrades project by himself, which included the full development of well over 100 new prototypes, building a pricing structure for those items, eliminating the old modification aspect type and replacing it with a new one, adding the new upgrade slots (and aspect type change) to every single member land vehicle item in our system, inputting all 121 new upgrades into the system as prototypes, running several quality control checks to ensure spelling and grammar accuracy as well as proper input and creation of the stocking rules, and finally going back into those item prototype pages and stocking them to the new store
- Came up with the initial concept of a "chop shop" for our land vehicle upgrade store, which eventually evolved into honoring one of our greatest members, Frosty Tarentae
- Has hit the ground running on the Capital Space Vehicle Upgrades project, compiling a list of 32 potential upgrades so far. This is a project I specifically saved for Thran, and he'll be the one doing most of the development on this project.
Thran continues to be an active participant in every discussion we hold, literally a beacon of activity. I would be lying if I said that he wasn't my right hand man, and it is such an incredible joy working with him. He's always got the club's interests at heart, and it shows. His contributions and sheer effort he puts into everything he does speaks for itself. There is zero doubt in my mind that this club would be a lot less enjoyable if Thran were not in it.
For his contributions to the entirety of the Brotherhood, I hereby request this Ruby Scepter for Thran (Thran did things, now Thran gets medal).

His energy is boundless, which shows from his constant input on DC discussions, the 34 comps he's run, and the 79 he has participated in, plus hundreds of clusters. Kamjin "Other Mav" Lap'lamiz has been one of the busiest people in the club, holding down both Consul and RhoJ (and LHoJ before that) while also churning out absurd levels of activity. In the last seven months, he has participated in 162 competitions, winning 57 crescents, a GN, and an SN, written roughly 50,000 words across all fiction activities, earned 317 CFs, 127 CIs, 149 CEs, 165 CGs, and participated in all 29 GJW XV competitions in a desperate search for the Mother. He keeps himself busy.
As Consul, he organized or co-organized 24 competitions, including the Tal v. CSP event and the 12 competition CSP-only Dark Times Saga conclusion. Our time as a leaders in the Clan have years of gap but he's back and giving his all to building an incredible community and as a leader. What all is there I can possibly say about the artist known as "Other Mav"? He continues to be a steadfast member of my Chamber and a reliable presence. His member first attitude is so clear it could border on obsessive. You think I'm just talking him up, but I'm honestly not. Everything he says circles back to the membership.
Every. Single. Thing.
Each argument or observation. They're all from the perspective of the membership and what might be best for them on the whole. Honestly, it's so great to see and is exactly what I would expect from someone being recommended for a Ruby Scepter. The crimson bonk stick is awarded for dedication and demonstration of value. Kamjin is "value". His picture is right there. You can look to just his work in the Chamber to see that, but you can far more easily look to his work as Consul. Honestly, #BeatKamjin is a great motivator and I love to see it. In fact, I'd partake if I could! It's great to see the life he's trying to bring into Scholae Palatinae and the enthusiasm he brings to every challenge he faces.
Congratulations Kamjin.

Drac has been busy in the year since his last medal. For half of that time, he has served his third term as Fist. Aside from being a trusted and consistent adviser to me and Evant (and his fellow Dark Councilors, for that matter), he took it upon himself to drastically (Dracstically?) overhaul DB gaming: he abolished traditional PvP as a separate and overly complex activity, replacing it with a more accessible and popular system that rewards wins and losses equally; he reworked the GMRG Society to end its reliance on the gaming leaderboard, opening maximum society advancement to a much wider audience; and he conceived and successfully instituted the casual gaming queue, which has driven sustained DB gaming activity to levels rarely seen outside of vendettas.
Few DCers have come into office with so many big ideas and actually accomplished all of their goals; I'm not sure anyone has done it in just six months before Drac. In short, he nailed it.
Congratulations!

Drac stepped in and hit the ground running, to no surprise. He had a vision, made it clear what he needed to be successful and accomplished a lot in his short time as Fist of the Brotherhood. He took gaming to a place that was a better natural fit for the membership, making changes that helped take our gaming processes to where the members were, instead of a build and they will come approach. His guidance and leadership in this short time have earned him this medal. Congratulations.
