The Geonosian Sonic Blaster is a powerful hand-held sonic blaster that fires concussive energy charges, a burst of ionized air that creates a powerful shockwave on impact. It has a slow rate of fire and is less accurate than blaster pistols, but its ability to deal collateral damage in an arc as well as the inability of the shot to be blocked by a lightsaber give it a niche use that made it popular by some groups.
