It has been fitted with additional tools and resources such as a macrobinocular "BD Vision" mode that allows a person to look through their photoreceptors and highlight targets and destinations, a stim dispenser, a thruster for hovering and quick bursts, a droid hacking matrix, and more powerful computer access and slicing link.
A stim dispenser has been installed on BD-unit "Survivor Edition" Backpack Droid, allowing this BD-unit "Survivor Edition" Backpack Droid to dispense different kinds of stim packs.
