The Elder Light Shield is a rare weapon used by Elders capable of complex modifications and adjustments that require the skills of an Elder to maintain. It is a buckler-style round Shield, created by the ancient Jedi to be a non-destructive and more protective tool. It uses the same main components of a lightsaber inside the handle, generating an impenetrable shield in the top and bottom segments contained within the spherical buckler. It can be used to block lightsaber blades, as well as deflect blaster bolts. Despite using lightsaber technology, the Light Shield is nothing more than a shield and uses the Blunt Weapons skill. The Jedi Master Silandra Sho used one such shield during the High Republic.
