Prototype: R9-series Astromech Droid

The R9-series Astromech Droid is the latest in Industrial Automaton's line of R-series astromech droids, designed to fit in the droid socket of any starfighter. They feature faster processors and increased durability over the more popular R2 line. It is commonly designed with a domed or tapered code head, with a cylindrical core in addition to a base, retractable tread leg, and two main legs. It has multiple appendages and attachments within its compartments, such as shock prods, welding torches, and is equipped with a holoprojector and a periscope that has a probe function, which is usable in space.

Mint Condition (Droid Cosmetic)

R9-BT "Beet" has been painstakingly cared for, and even upon close examination it appears as though R9-series Astromech Droid was freshly off the manufacturing line. Absent of any scratches, dents or even the slightest imperfections, the only thing missing is the new droid smell.

The Caretaker (Droid Personality)

R9-BT "Beet" has developed a personality around the concept of a caretaker. It has assumed the needs of its owner to be its prime directive, even such tasks that have not been requested of it. This results in R9-BT "Beet" often flitting about in an attempt to meet any possible task before it is necessary, including menial tasks.

Memory Upgrade (Droid Modification)

R9-BT "Beet" has had additional memory installed that increases its computing power. This allows it to perform complex analytical operations at a marginally faster rate, but limits the ability to further customize the R9-series Astromech Droid in any other way.
