White Asp Venom

Extracted from a snake of the same name native to Eldar, White Asp Venom is torturously slow toxin which, when applied to an open wound, causes it to rot, fester and produce pus. Over time, the veins around the wound blacken and the wound expands. This would normally be excruciatingly painful, however an unusual quirk of the White Asp Venom is the way it lowers the victim’s pain threshold, making it unimaginably painful. Usually, the victims are racked with convulsions and uncontrollable screaming mere hours after exposure. After a prolonged exposure of a few weeks, the Venom is nearly always fatal. The only known treatment is an antivenom synthesised from the Venom itself, however, given that the White Asp is a very rare specimen found only in the remotest part of Eldar’s mangroves, it is extremely unlikely that most medical facilities would have access to it.
