The HK-model Gladiator Droid, also known as the HK Assassin Unit, is a highly advanced combat and protocol droid designed for subterfuge, infiltration, and combat. It has advanced protocols and redundancies that allow it to continue to fight until the very end and serve as an excellent infiltration droid.
This HK-series assassin has nearly all of its external panels painted a deep and rich red, resembling the color of fresh blood. The few panels that have not been painted red remain a semi-glossy black to help accentuate the tone of the other panels.
HK-89 Assassin Droid has developed a predatory nature similar to those often associated with assassin droids. As a result, HK-89 Assassin Droid will often approach a situation with the mind set of a hunter, and convey their findings as such. This can be disconcerting to others who are unaccustomed to HK-89 Assassin Droid.
