HK-254 "Bob" has had every external component painted black as night, with attempts to minimize the brightness of external lights and features. This allows this HK-model Gladiator Droid to more easily blend into the shadows and darkness unseen.

HK-254 "Bob" has recieved redundant programming and a mechanical overhaul that reinforces known weaknesses from the original design that allow this HK-model Gladiator Droid to continue operating and survive much longer against a wide range of attacks. This programming overhaul slightly slows processing times while the mechanical fitments can slightly reduce agility.

HK-254 "Bob" has developed a predatory nature similar to those often associated with assassin droids. As a result, HK-254 "Bob" will often approach a situation with the mind set of a hunter, and convey their findings as such. This can be disconcerting to others who are unaccustomed to HK-254 "Bob".

HK-254 "Bob" has had its programs re-written and mechanical systems hard-wired for combat operations. This augmentation gives this HK-model Gladiator Droid a significant increase in combat efficiency in eliminating targets on behalf of Archangel Palpatine, but at the expense of it being usable for much else except for combat.

Embedded rocket launchers have been installed inside this HK-model Gladiator Droid's chassis and frame, with the multiple ordinance deployable at a moment's notice and capable of damaging a medium sized area.
