The Electro-staff is a pole-like melee weapon The duralloy shaft is strong enough to block bladed and blunt weapons, but when activated, the electrically charged tips on either end of the staff can withstand and hold up against strikes from a lightsaber. Beyond this, the tips can be set to either a "stun" setting or a deadly discharge that could stop a sentient's heart after five full seconds of contact.
Electromagnetic Pulse Generator
The handle of this weapon is equipped with a generator that sends constant electromagnetic pulses to the weapon's striking surface during use. While active, the striking surface of [this item] can parry lightsaber blades; however, the rest of the weapon is vulnerable to a lightsaber's plasma blade.
GR-1N-DR's Electro-staff has been modified at GR-1N-DR's request with special emitters that alters the frequency of the electromagnetic pulses at both ends of the weapon to appear to cycle through all the colors of the rainbow instead of the signature violet or yellow energy pulses typically associated with electrostaves. This colorful modification has no effect on the weapon's effectiveness, only the appearance of the electromagnetic pulses.
