The Mandalorian "Phoenix Edition" Armor is a variant of the more traditional Mandalorian Armor that is heavily customized to remove much of the plating to give the armor as much mobility as possible, leaving only the iconic helmet with its T-shaped visor untouched. Sabine Wren of Phoenix Squadron wore such heavily modified armor along with a personalized paint job. The armor is constructed of durasteel, and is able to be pressurized via a toggle to allow the wearer to survive in space, toxic atmospheres, and under water.
This set of armor has been visually altered with new coatings of paint, old-fashioned leather additions, and skillfully applied metallic enameling. The original coloration has been replaced with matte shades of golden tan and dark brown, blending into the rugged bantha-leather that covers the knee-pads, elbow-pads, and gloves. Specific portions of the armor, specifically the greaves, shoulder-plates, and gorget, have been lightly plated in bronze and burnished to shine in the light. The helmet for this armor set has been specifically modified to accommodate its wearer, customized with extensions that fit around her natural set of horns. Outwardly, these horned extensions to the helmet are plated with bronze and polished to a mirror finish. This design emulates the traditional armor of ancient Zabraki warriors and huntresses, and can help the wearer blend into scrubby or desert-like environments.
