The Tauntaun is a large furred lizard adapted for harsh and cold environments, Tauntauns were native to Hoth, but found use elsewhere in the galaxy after being domesticated. Two meters tall and white, tauntauns had large clawed legs that made them surefooted in even the iciest terrain, and two smaller, almost vestigial arms. The layer of blubber that allowed the tauntaun to tolerate the cold temperatures had an unpleasant smell to most sentients, although that pales in comparison to the scent a freshly killed tauntaun gives off.
Domesticated
Tauntaun was bred in a tame condition, and is comfortable around humanoids. It depends on humanoids for survival and looks to them for support. As creature handling goes up, a member can better understand and train and control this creature, but it will always look to Gülvyr Okami for guidance and support. When a character is proficient (+3) at handling creatures, they can do all they need with a domesticated creature.
Tauntaun is smaller than the average Tauntaun in terms of size or body mass. Their compact build can offer better mobility and agility but often at the expense of the power commonly associated with other Tauntaun.
Tauntaun, regardless of their size, likes to find odd places to sit, lay down, or rest—places that often are more often than not too small or the wrong shape. Nevertheless, Tauntaun persists and can often be found lounging in a shipping crate rather than the actual item that came in the aforementioned crate.
